Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is ideally located close to Monastirski square, station and metro close to lots of bars and restaurants. The staff are all lovely and friendly and really helpful. They found an adapter so I could charge my phone before my flight home. As others have said the rooftop bar opening is a bit erratic (it was December) but they were happy to come up from reception and make us a coffee. You can see the acropolis from here if you haven’t seen it enough already. The room is large and comfortable. There is a little noise from outside given it’s location but our room faced the rear. (There is no view) bit wasted space with large square cube stall things, and no drawer space. As usual these days open wardrobe to hang items and the safe was free. Items in fridge chargeable, except water. Enough room in fridge for your own provisions. Good pressure in the shower (although as others have said a bit awkward without an attachment to hold the shower head. We couldn’t get the aircon or heating to work (probably user error) so opened the window. An ideal base to explore and we’d happily stay again!

Fantastic location - right in the heart of a really cool, vibrant area. Fantastic staff - super friendly, helpful and charming. Fantastic city - a lovely mix of hipster cool and ancient history. Fantastic food - you will put on weight. Be warned. And beautiful, friendly people. Just go. You'll thank me.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in September 2023, family of four people. The hotel is clean with modern rooms and powerful showers and ideally placed to reach all the major tourist attractions. The surrounding area is a bit gritty but safe and comes alive at night as the hotel is literally smack bang in the middle of where all the action takes place with all manner of restaurants and bars within a few mins walk. The front of house team were amazing, especially Joanna, who was very welcoming and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Lovely people, nice clean modern hotel in a central location - highly recommended!

Pros: - The bed was very comfortable - The private terrace outside the room in a small enclave of the hotel was cool - The location was really good with easy access to trendy bars and restaurants and also a short walk from the Acropolis and Monastiraki Square Cons: - Our room smelled, we assume because of the air con system somehow. There was an air freshener placed on top of the wardrobe presumably to try and mask it but as this was loud we had to turn it off. - There was no clip to hold the shower head up high on the wall which meant you had to manually hold the shower head up each time. - The room is opened by a number and the keypad was difficult to navigate at first. The receptionist also repeated the number out loud with another guest present in the lobby which made us a bit uncomfortable. - The rooftop bar has a lot of potential but the opening times were a bit unpredictable which caused us to not bother trying again once we arrived and it was empty. - The hotel needs to update the Booking.com phone contact number as the number on the booking directed us to the wrong hotel (another in the chain also based in Athens) making it difficult for us to find our airport transfer after multiple phone calls which weren't very helpful. Overall: - It served its purpose of locating us in the heart of Athens and with a nice terrace area to sit and decompress. However there were a few areas to improve on which would give the hotel more to praise beyond the location.

What a great boutique hotel in the heart of Athens just minutes away from the plaka. Hotel is new, fresh and has wonderful service. Parking if needed is right next door but the location of the hotel is situated right amongst the many bars cafes and shops. The night life is electric in the area. There is a roof top patio to enjoy breakfast.

Far too expensive: don't pay in advance: look first! We moved out after one horrible night and got no money back. - the suite was dirty: hairs on the ground, dusty, smelly - no wardrobe: few places to hang clothes - balcony could not be closed: they did not find the key - breakfast: not worth it - towels were torn - bathroom door could not be closed - ratings in social media far too high: might not be correct? - charging the price for a 4 to 5 star hotel while it is only 2 star!!! - very difficult to park in the area and to go there by car - even toilet paper could not be put in the toilet: assuring the bad smell in the room - pool s only indoor and must be reserved in advance (max. 1 hour) Worst experience in 40 years of travelling!

It is my pleasure to write this review of the hotel. My wife and myself came to Athens for a medical conference. Being religious Jews, I booked this hotel to be close to Chabad were we could eat kosher food and join prayers. In fact the hotel is less than a minute from the Chabad center. We found the hotel to be above expectations. The hotel is three years old, very clean, and very looked after. The receptionists at all time were very helpful and gave good suggestions. The room was very clean and had all the facilities needed for our stay. The breakfast on the roof level was good and presented very nicely (obviously we were limited to products that had no kosher limitations). My wife enjoyed the Spa very much including the pool and treatments. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel especially to those people who want to be close to Chabad. The massage was exceptional. Zoe and Nia were both incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, and they took the time to understand our needs and preferences before starting the session. They were also very attentive throughout the massage, making sure that the pressure was just right and that we were comfortable at all times. Moreover, the indoor pool and sauna experience was equally enjoyable. It was a great way to relax and unwind after the massage.

Our stay at The Residence Christokopidou Hotel & SPA in Athens Greece was amazing. The hotel manager, Eleni, and her staff were very professional, friendly, and always willing to help with our inquiries and requests. Their breakfast was delicious too. The hotel was walking distance to different great restaurants. Also, Tolits, their massage therapist was fantastic. We felt much better after the massage sessions with him. Very professional and skilled therapist. We're from the U.S. and we loved our stay here because of their great customer service! We will definitely stay here should we visit Athens again.
