AD Athens Luxury Rooms and Suites garners high praise for its exceptional service, with guests repeatedly commending the friendly staff and excellent breakfast offerings provided on a rooftop that showcases breathtaking views of the Acropolis. The hotel's prime location is a hit among travelers, who appreciate the ease of access to local attractions and the overall value it offers. Rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and modern comfort. However, occasional issues with room specifics and a rare billing complaint are noted. The welcoming atmosphere, complete with special touches like the presence of a lobby dog, further enhances the guest experience.

As they say in real estate”location, location, location” and you won’t find a hotel in Athens with a better location than AD Athens luxury rooms and suites. This small boutique hotel is steps from the metro station, two minute walk to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the plaka. Within a manageable walk are the Roman market, Ancient Greek agora and museum, Jewish museum and many other sites of antiquities. Restaurants and shops are ubiquitous. The hotel itself is beyond charming. Rooms are not large but spacious enough for all your needs. You can easily open the door without crashing into two large suitcases or your spouse. The bathrooms are very modern and outfitted with lovely toiletries. Shower is amazing, great water pressure. A strong hair dryer is included. The only odd and somewhat off putting quirk is that toilet paper (yes, used) cannot be deposited in the toilet. Uncomfortable at first but you get used to it. A very ample buffet breakfast is lovingly and painstakingly served in the rooftop dining area. Sip a fresh to order cappuccino or espresso as you gaze up at the Acropolis. Come back in the evening for a drink and take in the view at night, impressive. The most admirable asset of this property is the staff. Iphigenia and her crew, including Fiona the family dog, go the extra mile to insure your needs are met courteously and promptly. It’s the little touches like cold water, candies and cookies to greet you after hours of touring that make the difference. There is a comfy sitting room in the lobby complete with well stocked play area for the little ones. The hotel is very secure. The front door is always locked and someone is at the front desk 24/7. We may not make it back to Athens, but if we do there is no question where we’ll stay, and so should you.

This was a fabulous hotel, half a block from the Acropolis metro station. The owner was charming and helpful in the mornings, with advice on pharmacies and how to get places. The breakfast on the roof (with a view of the Acropolis) every morning was delicious and substantial -- various baked goods, yogurt, honey, tea, choice of various coffees (espresso, cappuccino etc.) The rooms were beautiful (particularly the bathrooms) and the A/C was the best we had anywhere on our trip -- the room actually got cold. All for a very inexpensive cost -- highly recommended.

Incredible experience in this small boutique hotel. Some highlights:
Hotel is very safe (doors are kept locked) in a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of most major sites.
Metro is located right outside the front door.
Our room (#403) a one bedroom suite had newer windows so was very quiet and cool. We didn’t choose the balcony room as it was very hot while we were there.
Breakfast is the highlight! Authentic Greek foods, yogurt, toppings, meat, eggs, cheeses in a beautiful rooftop terrace. The gentleman and young lady hosting offers coffee, cappuccino or lattes along with suggestions with what to try. I will miss this the most!
Complimentary waters in the refrigerator, Nespresso in the rooms, kind and very helpful reception, comfortable beds and a fabulous location with restaurants, grocery, shopping , gelato, all nearby, make this an unbeatable value in hotels. Definitely book it!

The first thing I discovered upon entering my room is that the hotel has no luggage racks or places to open a suitcase. I used a desk chair and asked for something else so they brought up a piece of furniture from the lobby for me. But plan to put your suitcase on a desk chair or the floor, which of course is not ideal. Once my suitcase was on the chair, I could no longer walk on that alley along the bed. It's a very small room. The bathroom is stylish but soooo small. The sink is only inches deep and the faucet runs across that depth so when you're running the water to wash your face you are absolutely always splashing water on the floor. The shower doesn't have a door that closes so you're always overflowing on the floor while showering, as well. And it's very strange that there is a window in the shower so people can watch you shower because there's no curtain. I've never seen that before anywhere. The woman who runs the hotel was so very helpful to me when I asked for a band aid. She generously offered me a wide selection of things to help me with my scratch. She really goes out of her way to help. George was the one to open the door in the evenings and was always helpful with anything I asked for. They manage the hotel like a family would manage a home for visitors they really care about. The location is extremely central - you will be in the very epicenter of Athens tourism, so that's a consideration. You are pretty much right on Plaka and can walk there to Hadrian's Arch in just a couple of minutes. The view from the roof is astoundingly spectacular and you can sit there in the morning with the best coffee imaginable and a wonderful breakfast and have an experience that really won't be matched by almost any other hotel in the world as you're staring at the Parthenon in full view and watching the sunrise and the clouds passing over the Acropolis. So while the rooms are very small, the experience overall is quite pleasant and a very good value for the money.

Clear view of the Acropolis while eating a homemade Greek breakfast - location was absolutely perfect and allowed easy walking to main attractions/eateries. Easily walked to Monastraki, Acropolis, Olympic Stadium and even to the parliament / My Lycabettus (decently far but doable if you enjoy walking!!) Took the subway from the airport which lets off directly in front of hotel. 24-hour staff in the lobby and doors remain locked at all times! Would stay here again!!!

Only stayed here one night prior to boarding a cruise, but location was excellent if you’re looking for something very close to the Acropolis and shopping/dining. Hotel room was clean and modern with all of the amenities you’d expect from a boutique hotel and the family running this property were friendly. Rooftop view of the Acropolis was awesome and the breakfast served there was a good combination of pastries, fruit, yogurt, and traditional Greek food. Coffees made to order (espresso, latte, etc.). This location might be difficult if you have a rental car since this is tucked away with limited parking, but an excellent location if you’re on foot.

The AD Athens Luxury Rooms and Suites is in a great location close to both the Acropolis and Plaka. It is very close to the Acropolis metro station and a short walk from Syntegra metro station, so provides easy access to the airport and Piraeus. It has wonderful views of the Acropolis from its rooftop balcony, where breakfast is served.

The rooms are reasonably priced and are equipped with modern showers and comfortable beds. The air-conditioning is quiet and effective. There are sufficient sockets for charging devices and the free wifi provides a good service.

The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The breakfast with it's amazing view is really excellent. There is a good range of local products to choose from including fruit, yoghurt, honey and pastries. The coffee is really excellent.

The hotel is a short walk from the Acropolis museum and also the Acropolis.

There are plenty of coffee bars, restaurants and bakeries close to the hotel and the heart of the Plaka is only a short walk away.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel and when I next return to Athens, I will be booking it again.

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of June. It was excellently situated, very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. Our room rate included breakfast which was on the top floor of the hotel with views of the Acropolis. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We will definitely return if we come to Athens again.

I stayed 2 nights at AD Luxury Rooms and Suites and would not recommend it. Despite the friendly staff, I was charged for a night I didn’t use. Room 101 had a strong sewage smell from the bathroom, and the AC barely worked. The walls were thin, making it hard to sleep with noise from the lobby. The staff acknowledged the sewage issue but offered no solution, and the AC remained weak. I requested a refund for the second night due to these conditions, but the hotel ignored my emails and calls. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Now for the whole story:
I stayed at AD Luxury Rooms and Suites for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I initially chose this hotel for its 24-hour lobby, safety features, and positive reviews, even paying extra to switch from another hotel. However, it didn't live up to expectations.

Upon arrival at 3 a.m., after a long day of traveling, I was eager to rest. As soon as I entered Room 101, I noticed a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. I initially thought the issue might resolve itself, so I turned off the AC, opened the window, and left for a quick walk. But when I returned, the smell was worse, and the AC wasn’t cooling properly.

To make matters worse, the room was noisy due to thin walls, and I could hear everything from the lobby and surrounding rooms. This, combined with the weak AC and overpowering smell, made for a terrible night of sleep in the middle of a hot Athens summer.

The next morning, I reported the issues to the receptionist, who confirmed that the sewage smell was a known problem, particularly in the lobby and on the first floor. Her advice was to leave the window open to reduce the smell, which, of course, meant the AC wouldn’t work at all. She promised to check on the AC but, hours later, nothing had been done.

By then, I decided I couldn’t stay another night. The sewage smell, weak AC, slow Wi-Fi, and paper-thin walls made it impossible to rest or get any work done. I asked for a refund for the second night, which they refused. Despite several follow-ups via email and phone, I received no communication or assistance.

While I understand that I booked a non-refundable rate, I feel it’s reasonable to expect a room that’s fit for guests, which mine was not. Upon reading other negative reviews, it’s clear the sewage issue in Room 101 is well-known, yet unresolved. I would not recommend staying here given my poor experience and lack of responsiveness from the staff.

I'm writing this review while actually sitting up at breakfast on the rooftop, with that amazing view of the Acropolis. Fresh squeezed orange juice, proper espresso coffee and a beautiful spread of lovingly prepared dishes. Simply perfect.
The location of this hotel can not be beaten. I caught the Metro from Athens Airport which delivered me literally to the front door. All very easy with only one simple connection from the blue to red line. At first I thought being close to a Metro station could mean the hotel might not be in the nicest area, (as some places in the world), but this is different. It's actually a really calm and lovely area with plenty of great restaurants, shops and of course the Acropolis entrance only a few minutes stroll away. The station is deep underground anyway, so It's only an escalator up that meets the road.
The room is also prefect. Can't fault a thing. New, spacious and very clean, plus what's probably one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in.
But the absolute standout are the staff / owners. They have been so warm and friendly and offered anything I could could possibly need.
So YES I would most definitely recommend AD Luxury Rooms & Suite to anyone looking for the most charming little hotel in the perfect location to explore the best of Athens.
I personally will stay here again for sure !
