Hotel is very safe (doors are kept locked) in a wonderful neighborhood within walking distance of most major sites.
Metro is located right outside the front door.
Our room (#403) a one bedroom suite had newer windows so was very quiet and cool. We didn’t choose the balcony room as it was very hot while we were there.
Breakfast is the highlight! Authentic Greek foods, yogurt, toppings, meat, eggs, cheeses in a beautiful rooftop terrace. The gentleman and young lady hosting offers coffee, cappuccino or lattes along with suggestions with what to try. I will miss this the most!
Complimentary waters in the refrigerator, Nespresso in the rooms, kind and very helpful reception, comfortable beds and a fabulous location with restaurants, grocery, shopping , gelato, all nearby, make this an unbeatable value in hotels. Definitely book it!

The rooms are reasonably priced and are equipped with modern showers and comfortable beds. The air-conditioning is quiet and effective. There are sufficient sockets for charging devices and the free wifi provides a good service.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The breakfast with it's amazing view is really excellent. There is a good range of local products to choose from including fruit, yoghurt, honey and pastries. The coffee is really excellent.
The hotel is a short walk from the Acropolis museum and also the Acropolis.
There are plenty of coffee bars, restaurants and bakeries close to the hotel and the heart of the Plaka is only a short walk away.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel and when I next return to Athens, I will be booking it again.
Now for the whole story:
I stayed at AD Luxury Rooms and Suites for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I initially chose this hotel for its 24-hour lobby, safety features, and positive reviews, even paying extra to switch from another hotel. However, it didn't live up to expectations.
Upon arrival at 3 a.m., after a long day of traveling, I was eager to rest. As soon as I entered Room 101, I noticed a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. I initially thought the issue might resolve itself, so I turned off the AC, opened the window, and left for a quick walk. But when I returned, the smell was worse, and the AC wasn’t cooling properly.
To make matters worse, the room was noisy due to thin walls, and I could hear everything from the lobby and surrounding rooms. This, combined with the weak AC and overpowering smell, made for a terrible night of sleep in the middle of a hot Athens summer.
The next morning, I reported the issues to the receptionist, who confirmed that the sewage smell was a known problem, particularly in the lobby and on the first floor. Her advice was to leave the window open to reduce the smell, which, of course, meant the AC wouldn’t work at all. She promised to check on the AC but, hours later, nothing had been done.
By then, I decided I couldn’t stay another night. The sewage smell, weak AC, slow Wi-Fi, and paper-thin walls made it impossible to rest or get any work done. I asked for a refund for the second night, which they refused. Despite several follow-ups via email and phone, I received no communication or assistance.
While I understand that I booked a non-refundable rate, I feel it’s reasonable to expect a room that’s fit for guests, which mine was not. Upon reading other negative reviews, it’s clear the sewage issue in Room 101 is well-known, yet unresolved. I would not recommend staying here given my poor experience and lack of responsiveness from the staff.
The location of this hotel can not be beaten. I caught the Metro from Athens Airport which delivered me literally to the front door. All very easy with only one simple connection from the blue to red line. At first I thought being close to a Metro station could mean the hotel might not be in the nicest area, (as some places in the world), but this is different. It's actually a really calm and lovely area with plenty of great restaurants, shops and of course the Acropolis entrance only a few minutes stroll away. The station is deep underground anyway, so It's only an escalator up that meets the road.
The room is also prefect. Can't fault a thing. New, spacious and very clean, plus what's probably one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in.
But the absolute standout are the staff / owners. They have been so warm and friendly and offered anything I could could possibly need.
So YES I would most definitely recommend AD Luxury Rooms & Suite to anyone looking for the most charming little hotel in the perfect location to explore the best of Athens.
I personally will stay here again for sure !
