Just had a 2 night stay here and I have to say it’s been fantastic. The room was spotless and the complimentary port when we arrived was well received. Sonja was an angel, and a fountain of knowledge, nothing was too much trouble for her. The location is perfect and virtually right in the centre, the river is only a 10 - 15 minute walk down the hill. The view from our room at both night and day was impressive also. Thank you for everything, I will return again.

Very good location. And luxury treatment from Sonia, decisive, available and with very good advice. The room is not bad. Something small, there is no furniture for clothes. Everything very clean. Small TV. Perhaps the worst thing is the size. Somewhat expensive in price. Although you can get a better price by calling directly

This is a fantastic hotel. You cannot beat the view and Sónia is absolutely fantastic!! She made our stay in Porto so much better by giving us suggestions for sightseeing and
restaurants. She was incredibly friendly and
warm. Again, the view from our room was incredible!! Sónia deserves all the appreciation and thanks!!!

I just read through a dozen or so previous reviews here and can't add much new other than to reiterate what has been said already.

The location is excellent, the views are fantastic, the rooms are spotless and well taken care of, and the welcome carafe of wine was a lovely touch. And all of the nice things that everyone has said about Sónia are true, though fall short of capturing her completely. She's a lovely woman, who loves people and loves her job, and it shows. Sónia, you are a gem.

I hate to say anything negative, but we were in the attic room and the seagulls on the roof were far noisier than I would have imagined. Still and all, I'd go back in a heatbeat.

We loved everything about Casa Dos Caldereiros and we would definitely go back. It was clean, authentic, superb location and view, great recommendations and even welcome-Port wine.
The room had everything one needs and the kitchen was also fully equipped for us.

This place is adorable! In a restored authentic house, in the neighborhood. Complete with wood beams and original stonework. The views were incredible from the studio apartment that I had on the top floor. A castle from one window and a the tower from the other. Please be aware that this is authentic meaning that there are no elevators, but the manager helped me with my things when I arrived, getting them upstairs. Many stairs, but worth the view! You will not be disappointed. Perfect location near Clerigos Tower and Lello Bookshop!

Just got back home from a lovely stay in Porto. The accommodation is lovely. I stayed in a room on the second floor facing the street. I loved the bare stone walls. Sonia is so welcoming and gave me details of which restaurants to go to and a lovely bakery around the corner. She is such a lovely person and I promised her I will go back. I recommend Porto to anyone who hasn’t been.

Everything about this - location, amenities, convenience - was just right. Sonia my greeter/hostess was super friendly and detailed in her sightseeing and eatery recommendations (and most of them panned out well). My apartment wasn't the one in the building with the choicest balcony view, but I took a peek at one that did, and it proved that this property is really worth the money. I did occasionally got a whiff of sewage during my stay but I think the Porto city center may have plumbing/sewage problems in general. The proliferation of seagulls in the neighborhood may also prove problematic in the future. Still I had a wonderful stay.

The hotel has a good location up a steep road. Sonia the host was extremely helpful and recommended us places to eat. The room (Namorados room) is beautiful with a fantastic view and has a small balcony. Complimentary port wine was given. Bathroom is small, no place for toiletries and no wardrobe, just a rail with coat hangers. It is only serviced on the 4th day. Stairs to the rooms are a challenge (steep) so travel light!

I am not sure but the owner and his staff petson Sonya who looks after the place were very accomodating to us when we arrived very early and we made arrangements by email beforehand. I think I would email him and see what they say.

Casa dos Caldeireiros 16:50 (há 0 minuto) para GlenCherry Dear Glen As I told you this morning on the phone, there is no problem with your transfer. Someone will be waiting for you at the airport with a card bearing your name and will transport you to Casa dos Caldeireiros This service has an approximate price of 25 € and must be paid to the driver. Let me know if everything is ok and if you need any more information. Kind regards, Miguel

Has anyone stayed in the Rua room? Is there a nice view?
Answer from JChow
Brooklyn, New York25 contributions53 helpful votes
I stayed in Traves which I think is a mirror image of Rua. The view is of the street, which is picturesque but not as spectacular as the other side of the building. I still think it's good value for money though.

Thank you very much for your question. All studios can have double beds and of course the most expensive ones have the best view. If you have any further questions please let me know or consult our web site. Kind regards, Miguel
