The Chic & Basic Gravity Hotel comes highly recommended for its exceptional service, with staff members earning accolades for their friendly and efficient hospitality. Guests appreciate the hotel's value, noting the reasonable costs associated with the bar and breakfast. While the hotel's amenities are generally celebrated, especially the comfortable rooms and unique decor, a few have mentioned privacy concerns due to glass-enclosed showers.

chic&basic Gravity (Porto), provided an outstanding hotel experience. Well located to walk to virtually all sightseeing/meeting spots.
Key points: - Hotel is ~3 years old and it is immaculate - Location is great - Funky and fun vibe throughout the hotel - Both pre-stay and during the stay, the hotel staff keep in touch via WhatsApp—in fact, guests can reach out to the front desk/concierge at any point during the stay for real-time guidance, answers, or activity booking support — awesome! - The room doors are thick, solid and double sealed (we were across from the elevator—usually a yikes!!!, but room was always quiet). The hallways are also nearly silent due to the flooring, wall covering and ceiling sound attenuation panels. The room windows (facing the street) are thick and also silent. **if you like a guest room that is free from external noise, this is it** - There is a small resto/bar with a patio out front and adjacent to the hotel. While it’s often busy, with folks out in the street, don’t worry, no cause for concern. It’s simply folks enjoying an evening of company with friends. Have no fear, walk thru the crowd, stop for a bevvie. This was initially a bit of a concern at first, but see above
The entire staff team at chic&basic Gravity were outstanding, with a special tip of the cap to José (front desk/concierge). Always helpful to answer questions and provide tips.

We have just returned from a fabulous 4 night stay in the beautiful city of Porto, this hotel is absolutely amazing ! Firstly upon arrival the glass of port is i nice touch and the welcome you recieve at reception is excellent, before i go into the details of rooms etc.... the staff here deserve to be mentioned first, Nuno, Pedro, Daniel & Jose at the reception area/bar are so well mannered and will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Ok so here is my honest review of the hotel etc..... Rooms are quirky with some great touches like trainers on the ceiling and upside down plants! Bed was comfy had a large balcony bathroom was spacous and toilet and shower seperate , air conditioned for added comfort , free coffee in the room and also a mini fridge , hairdryer and smart tv
Food. We only booked breakfast whuch was very we presented and delicious with a choice of meats , cheeses, hot selection , fruit ,bread and yoghurts and also prosseco ! Great value at ten euros each ! Cant comment on the dinner menu as we wanted to explore the tapas and local restaurants
Location. Great location very easy to reach all the main attractions and sights , but beware that porto is very hilly so take your time !!
Overall. Simply could not have one single complaint about this extremely well presented hotel will definately return here again , thanks to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

Very nice place close on foot to the main part to visit with private parking 20€. (Preferable to arrive by car at 3 p.m., few places) Very friendly staff who can speak a little French with a complimentary welcome port. Very good lunch served in the very nicely decorated restaurant, for dinner their restaurant is expensive compared to what is served. Very good bedding we had 1 room on the street side in a quiet side street and the other room with balcony on the patio side. Small downside for the bay window of the room on the street side, no blackout film on the lower part of the bay, passers-by can look into the room and have to draw the curtains.

A fabulous hotel deserving of it's 4 star rating. Quirky and cool, standout features include the sumptuous breakfast, the ultra comfy beds, the brilliant outside bar/cafe room, and the fact the whole place is clean and cared for. Our breakfasts were included in the price and run from 7.30 to 10.30 with food being replenished regularly. Food includes cooked breakfast, home made granola, cereals, fresh fruit, breads, croissants, cakes, cheese, hams, and the gorgeous local Pasteis de Nata cakes. Plus teas, coffees, detox and regular juices - and sparkling wine if you fancied an early tipple! Our bedroom had an inward facing balcony, a large bathroom and shower, and was really quiet. We especially loved the outdoor bar/cafe area where the weird upside down pool ornament is, a really relaxed vibe and we went there each day after breakfast and for a nightcap. Staff were efficient and helpful, especially smiley breakfast waitresses. Just a couple of 'cons' which could very easily be rectified: * The bathroom is large but has no storage. A simple shelf or slim unit along the wall to put your wash bag etc on would make all the difference. * The balcony faces inwards directly across to rooms and balconies opposite, so you can't pull the blackout curtains to enjoy the early morning sunlight. If there were nets outside the black out curtains you wouldn't have to put the lights on in the morning, and the hotel would save money on electricity. * There isn't really enough room to put all your clothes and case away. There was no wardrobe in our room, just six hangers hanging on a rail on the wall. We put one case in the bathroom!

The hotel is great , for the excellent location, cleanliness of the hotel , the great breakfast , also has its own parking , the hotel has a modern and daring touch in its decorations, such as upside down pots or slippers attached to the ceiling, is very curious and at the same time is very cool . Above all note apart from the above, the kindness of all the workers who make up this hotel, super friendly and friendly. At least we've been helped in everything. Great greeting.

Cute design in a good location in Baixa. Very nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Be aware the shower and toilet are enclosed in textured glass so there is not much privacy. Room service disappointed us, they did not refresh the towels or toilet paper one day.

If it’s possible to have a fun stay at a hotel that’s what we had at Gravity. It’s a little quirky (check out the pix of the rooms) but to me, that’s what a boutique style hotel should be. All of the front desk, bar, and other front area people were very friendly and knowledgeable. Kudos to whoever does the hiring. The rooms are smallish but comfortable with triple thick glass in the sliding doors leading to the private patio. The location is great! Once we got our bearings we found we were in easy walking distance to some of Porto’s most famous landmarks, terrific little restaurants, and even the World’s Most Beautiful McDonalds 😁. Who could ask for more? And the rates were very reasonable - especially considering the quality of the hotel. We would definitely return to Gravity!

We had a beautiful suite with a balcony overlooking Lisbon. I captured some amazing sunrise and sunset shots. We stayed for 5 nights. The staff is very helpful and addressed all of our needs. A shout out to the folks at the front desk. They were very helpful with the internet and numerous other issues. The room was comfortable with an amazing rain shower, towels and shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied so you don't need to bring your own. We ate dinner 2 times in the restaurant Valentina's which is outstanding. The food is great and we loved our servers and also the gentleman who runs the bar. Be sure to make reservations for dinner because locals eat here as well. In addition to the hotel amenities there are numerous small and fun places to eat within a 2-3 block area. Try the Taco place next door which is excellent. There is also Thai and numerous other choices. We liked being out of the city center which is an easy walk to the core downtown and quick taxi ride. I would recommend this fun hotel to other travelers for a unique experience.

Given that basic is in the name, I was delighted by all the nice touches in this place. I would say it is moreso chic than anything! The design is nice and fun, and the room is comfortable with nice touches. The breakfast is delicious, and the happy hour at the bar is ridiculously good value and fun. Also the location is perfect for getting to the action of the city, but you can request a quiet room so the nightlife doesn't impact your sleep. Would absolutely stay here again.

I cannot fault this hotel! It’s quirky , modern clean and the staff cannot do enough for you. I went with my partner for our anniversary. Check in was at 3pm but our room was ready at midday so we were able to access our room early. On arrival reception gave us an upgrade on our room and some chocolate covered strawberries as a welcome. Room was modern , clean and we had a large balcony . The whole hotel is so quirky and different and was great for our stay. Hotel had complementary tea, coffee, biscuits and cake every afternoon. They also have happy hour where drinks are super cheap so great for a few before you have dinner. Location was perfect and we were about 30 mins from the airport & 10 minute walk to the centre of Porto to the bars & restaurants. Would highly recommend and If ever in Porto again I would return.
