Exactly as described, five star

The Residence was exactly as described, I made a few requests before travelling and they were all as I requested. The apartment was clean, quiet, the cleaning good, the gardens very well kept, all good.

Very good

Had a great week here. Staff were fantastic. Food was very good. Place was spotless. Great views. Gardens kept immaculate. Lots to do and see within walking distance and a courtesy bus for trips into the Center. A very relaxing place to spend time.

Thanks anyway Richard but we are after a 2 bed

I am coeliac and require a completely gluten free diet. This means there must be no contamination from other foods, hands, utensils or surfaces...etc. I am also vegetarian. Can this hotel feed me safely?

Thanks Richard I know it’s a 2 bedroom unit, there is a weeks timeshare for sale and we were wondering if it was worth buying but not sure if it doesn’t have a view but think the price reflects that Thanks for your help we may have to keep looking

if a 1 bed would be ok for you, I know that 3016 will be going on sale soon. it's on the front and has a great sea view.

Does anyone have photos from apartment 3084 at The Residence, not sure if it’s too near the road for an enjoyable stay?

Just checked again. I have a floor plan of the third floor which shows 3184 is above reception and therefore, I guess 3084 is the studio flat we stayed in for 3 nights and therefore I think my description is correct. If this is your first trip to Madeira, you may be slightly disappointed with the outlook and a little bit of road noise. Plus the occasional open top tripper bus coming not far below your window. I believe it is a studio flat so , if available, you might ask about cost of changing to a standard flat facing the garden / sea. They are all still well equipped but position is really best if you are going to use as a place to sleep and do the right thing and get out and enjoy that glorious island!

who do i contact to make a room request

Contact Porto Bay Hotels (see their website for email address) - they pass it on. We have just done this to book a room that was not showing up as being available. When we contacted them we found that it was.

Is the pool saltwater Thanks

No but the Lido is just opposite the hotel and that is saltwater
