Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, the Blue Liberdade Hotel garners accolades for its serene, well-insulated rooms that offer sanctuary from the vibrant city buzz. Guests have called out the complimentary refreshments and modern in-room amenities, despite the rooms being on the smaller side. The hotel's decor and atmosphere are frequently described as charming and inviting.
Service at Blue Liberdade earns rave reviews for the staff's warm and attentive approach. While some believe the pricing could be more competitive, the central location and overall cleanliness contribute to the hotel's high value proposition.

Hotel's Favourite
Pros:
- perfect location, right in the centre and easily accessible from the airport with bus and metro station right outside
- free water everyday & safe in room
- room was modern and clean and better than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in
- luggage storage
- front desk staff were excellent, couldn't have done more for us and a true credit to this hotel
Considerations:
- there is no kettle in the room but there is free tea and coffee in the lobby everyday
- breakfast was fine but quite a small area so not sure how this would work in peak times.
Me and my husband did a 48hr weekend trip to Lisbon and this hotel was perfect. highly recommended.
Tip:
Get the 24hr travel card as you can use it on all modes of transport including the tram 28 and Santa Justa elevator. Well worth it!

Dear Mrs. Ninaotterina, Thank you for your kind review of the Blue Liberdade Hotel. We are extremely happy to read that our service turned your stay into a wonderful experience. All our staff is glad that you enjoyed not only our modern rooms but also our location in the heart of Lisbon. On the other hand, we regret to know that we did not meet your expectations regarding the breakfast room. However, your feedback will be subject of a thoroughly analysis. Only with our guest’s feedback, we may improve. Concerning the lack of a kettle in the room, kindly be informed that we have electric kettles at the front desk upon request and availability. We hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back to our Hotel in the near future. Very best wishes and kind regards, Teresa Dá Mesquita Front Office

I would say this small, pretty 3* hotel must be giving the surrounding 5*’s a bit of a hard time. The friendly, helpful front desk is there 24hrs in a smart little foyer. Where there is a complementary coffee and tea machine, bottled water to go, chilled flavoured waters, and sparkling wine no less and should it rain some brolly’s. Also your fridge may contain some other complementary beverages. The inside is very smart and modern, our room was compact but with all the space we needed. The bathroom was spacious with an excellent shower, bath robes, and slippers, in two sizes (that ’s one up on the few 5*s I’ve stayed in). There are loads of power sockets, USB charge ports and a Bluetooth speaker . There was excellent internet which also works at our selected breakfast café adjacent!
I worried about its location being on such a busy avenue with restaurant downstairs but the only noise was the faint hiss from the air-conditioning vent (we were on floor 3). So no worries get a street view if you wish to see the World go by.
The location was great, a minute behind is a vast array of restaurants, ask at reception for ideas; they suggested ones that we had identified beforehand as good and some more to try A+.
There’s a popular coffee and pastry shop and little café and bar (our choice) right next door for simple fresh economical breakfasts (get the orange juice!) The Metro was 10 seconds away and tourist information and bus stops just across the road, it just could not have been easier to go exploring. It is very easy to highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a 5 days visit to Lisbon with my brother, the Blue Liberdade Hotel was absolutely perfect for us!
Location:
The hotel location is amazing - walking distance from all the main areas (bairro alto, chiado, baixa, avenida de liberdade) and a blue-line metro station just in front of the hotel’s entrance. There are many restaurants and cafes just next to the hotel and also a train station (Rossio) if you wish to travel outside Lisbon.
There are also supermarkets in a walking distance for getting anything you need.
Room:
We took a deluxe city view room on the 2nd floor which was spacious and spotless with a beautiful view to the plaza - the windows are so good that we didn’t hear any noise at all.
Staff:
All staff members were kind and friendly and suggested their help in any matter. Special thanks to Sandra!
We are definitely going to come back!

We love this hotel for so many reasons.
As a newly renovated historic building in a central location, the rooms ( we experienced four different room styles) are well designed with a lovely aesthetic and wonderful details. Very clean, comfortable beds, great lighting, and a pillow menu. The bathroom is fabulous with plenty of room to move around, storage area for personal toiletry items, great shower, and best of all, a scale.
Every staff member we interacted with was professional, service oriented, friendly & helpful, and made our stay so pleasant. The lobby featured free tea, coffee, chilled non alcoholic beverages, sparkling wine and water bottles. Breakfast is served from 7-11 , with a range of food options that are constantly being replenished.
While the central location provided easy access to everything, and you can open floor to ceiling windows and balcony doors to experience the bustling square, you can also choose to retreat to a quiet setting, as the rooms are well insulated with shutters and black out curtains for better sleep.
Every aspect of our stay here was wonderful and we can't wait to stay here again!

Fantastic!
Stayed 2 nights here on a sightseeing trip of Lisbon. Hotel has a wonderful location and although the room was a little on the small side (which is typical of a city Centre hotel) it is perfectly formed!
The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a hotel. There was what seemed like a mattress topper, lovely crisp white linen and superb soft pillows. The air con was quiet and effective and shutters kept the room dark. The bathroom is really stylish too
Gorgeous white towels and tv on wall all made for a ‘fantastic’ stay.
Would stay here again. We stayed in a city view room, and in the morning the rubbish vans came early and made a bit of noise, otherwise it was lovely to gaze at the street scene and gorgeous square below with its lovely monuments.
The staff at reception were extremely welcoming and informative too. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

+1
Excellent location, excellent staff, the air conditioning works great although it seems as if it might raise temperature a bit at night when sleeping as an energy reduction measure, excellent wifi, great shower with good respite and both rain shower head and handheld, super clean both room and halls , new construction in a very old building so very nice modern feel, has good location of electric outlets and USB outlets, very comfortable bed, great room darkening shutters on each window, and decent size elevator. Rooms are a little small but ok. They could use a few more shelves for toiletries and hooks to hang hand towels. Mini bar is stocked with water, one beer and one Coke each day and is free, but would be nice if stocked with two of each every day for more than one guest. No coffee maker or hot pot in the room or coffee but there is coffee, water, champaign lemonade in the lobby at no charge. However they do not stock cream or creamer at the coffee maker. All the restaurants you could ever want at or near the hotel in 5 minutes walking distance. Restauradores metro stop on Azul line is right at the entrance to the hotel so two stops from Santa Apalonia train. Station. Only had the hotel breakfast one day and it was adequate but not exceptional for $15 euro so we did not return. We did not park a car. There are always two very friendly people at the desk at all hours to help with your every need including things to visit and restaurants who speak English well. So many great locations to visit within walking distance. Room cost is a bit high but there is the old saying is you pay for what you get!

Throughout the stay I thought the hotel was 4 star hotel and didn't doubt it at all.
It is located very centrally in the Lisbon. The whole building is very beautiful both inside and outside.
The service was very friendly. They serve refreshing drinks and little snacks in the lobby for guests, this was a nice add. Although they don't have coffee or tea in the rooms.
The room was beautiful and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The aircondition was amazingly efficient: the first time we didn't feel the need to leave it on when leaving the room because it really cooled the room in a few minutes. We were also amazed that how silent the room was, we didn't hear any noise from outside or other rooms.
But the standard room was really small as you can see from the description. There wasn't enough counters to put our things (we had a lot of them since we are on a long holiday) so it was a bit of a hassle. But I think it is big enough for a 1-2 night stay.
There wasn't any additional toiletries other than shampoo/shower gel and conditioner. There wasn't separate shampoo product and I didn't like the feeling the shower gel left my head. The conditioner was not to my liking either. I suggest you take your own shampoo and conditioner.
The restaurant of the hotel seemed to always be filled with peo)ple (including locals so I think you should give it a try. We didn't unfortunately have time for that.
If I would stay in the center of Lisbon again, I would choose Blue Liberdade.

Dear susanelina, Your warm review really make us very flattered and extremely happy. Thank you so much for the time you've took to share your experience. Note that our building is subject to various restrictions on construction, we cannot make many changes as it is a historic building. We will take into account your opinion about our shampoos and conditioners and report it to our management. Additionally, we would like to point out that the pinocchio restaurant does not belong to the hotel. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the near future. Enjoy your stay in the heart of Lisbon!
We were able to walk to most destinations from this fantastic location!
House keeping was prestine and the hotel staff are always courteous.
Great modern decor, bed was comfortable, fluffy pillows, crisp sheets, black out window shutters, and could not hear any noise outside.
We would definitely stay here again when returning to Lisbon!
P.S - great uber eats selection to here when feeling lazy!

Our first room was small, and I asked if they had a slightly larger room which they graciously moved us to. The hotel is spotless, the staff is a delight, and as mentioned, the location is fantastic. We had a rental car, and the location of the parking is within 50 yards, that they arranged and even met us ther to pick up our luggage.

Wonderful boutique hotel! In a great location you just walk out the door to dozens of restaurants and all the sights you came to Lisbon to see. If they are not right on the hotels doorstep there are buses and the Metro right out front as well. The front desk staff will give you directions, maps, and you can buy a metro/bus card from them and put it on your room bill to pay later. They were Great! There is also a coffee machine and sparkling wine available in the lobby any time you want. Then there is also a refrigerator in the room with complimentary beer, water, and soft drinks.
We really can not rave about this hotel enough, it should be a 4 Star hotel and the only reason it is not is because some of the rooms are small, but bed was very comfortable, great bathroom( lots of hot water), bathrobes and slippers provided., soundproof when your window is closed. Then there is the good air conditioning and lots of television channels in different languages . Also good free WiFi.
Once again this hotel is a real find!
