Without exaggeration, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and I stay in hotels a lot, often in much more expensive ones.
The hotel and the rooms are very nicely decorated, with a lot of attention to detail in all sorts of places. Nothing is worn, shabby or chipped, everything is in top condition, as if it had just opened.
The staff are all very nice, friendly and helpful and have the perfect answer to every question. This is not the professional politeness of the big chain hotels (which is of course fine), but a genuine friendliness that comes from the heart.
The breakfast is great, you can order from a selection of egg dishes and hot drinks and there is also a well-stocked buffet.
The numerous other amenities cannot be listed exhaustively, so here is just a small selection:
- when we arrived in the morning we were offered a cappuccino and a little something to eat
- after we had moved into our rooms we were brought pastéis de nata (warm custard tarts)
- in the room there is also a minibar, the first filling of which is free, a capsule coffee machine with accessories, almond liqueur with a whole lemon and coffee beans and instructions on how to make a local drink
- other typical snacks and sweets
At least in February the price/performance ratio was incredibly good. I think the hotel costs a little more in the season, but that is undoubtedly reasonable.
The location in the middle of Alfama is convenient, you are right in the center of the action with a nice selection of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The famous tram line 28 stops nearby, but the cars are sometimes quite full as it is very popular with tourists for sightseeing tours. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down to the main street.
The hotel can also be reached by taxi; Lisbon taxi drivers are fearless and have experience with the conditions in Alfama. I wouldn't dare drive there myself though; if you're arriving with a rental car, it's better to leave it somewhere else.
The hotel restaurant is also very good; we went there for dinner and it's definitely not to be missed. Here too, the hotel stays true to itself: guests receive a free bottle of red wine with their meal.

The beds are extremely comfortable with choice of good pillows. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed with robes, slippers, bar fridge and filtered water replenished daily. Very quiet & convenient location. There is a cute family restaurant opposite.
Breakfast is superb with a huge variety, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, meats & cheeses, wonderful bread and pastries including pastel da nata, and a good selection of hot dishes cooked freshly to order. Good coffee with regular and non- dairy milk available and of course fantastic ready to help with food or tourist information. Joana was on hand in the breakfast room most mornings to help with tourist information.
This is the best boutique hotel we have stayed in, after 25 years holidaying around the world.

Brand new hotel opened in September 2021. Great hospitality by everyone in the staff, they were all extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is very modern and beautifully decorated, very spacious room, quite place all though it is right in the middle of the old town of Lisboa. On arrival at 10.am we were offered breakfast for free and it was a delicious breakfast every day with a buffet and a varied selection of eggs and pan cakes - made on request. In the room we got a welcome drink and small Portuguese cake and everyday a bootle of water was given us. Only good things to say about the hotel and the staff - you get value for money and more than you expect. We will definitely return in the future. All the best recommendations from us. But maybe it will not be easy to get at room in the future, as this hotel has only 22 rooms and I guess with the reviews it will be very popular in the future.

Tucked away just above the Alfama district, this beautiful boutique hotel is a literal short walk south of the E28 tram, (exist hotel, turn left and immediate right up the hill) which connects you to the best viewpoints in the area and right down into the old town, in a matter of minutes.
The room design is spectacular, the breakfast is the best I've had in a long time, and the staff are extremely helpful and diligent. The price was also excellent value. We were so happy with our find. We will definitely be back!
Top tip: If you are arriving from San Apollonia station, take a tuk-tuk up to the hotel for that first trip. No point breaking your back dragging bags to get up there, the road from that side is a little steep! It's an experience in itself zipping up the winding roads. After that, the tram connection, or indeed your own two feet, will get you anywhere you need to go.

This stylish boutique hotel in the historic Alfama neighborhood is a gem. While our room was modern, comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped, and the complementary breakfasts were very nice, it was the incredible staff and little touches that made it so special. We were greeted by a lovely smile, flutes of champagne and a pastry treat upon arrival. Once in our room there were Pastiche de Nata to eat as well as a little bottle of amarguinha, a lemon, and coffee beans to make our own cocktails (so tasty!) Everyone from reception to the cleaning crew to the wait staff were friendly and accommodating. The front

I was greeted by super friendly reception staff who offered a glass of water and Champagne at check-in. Upon showing me my room, I discovered that I was treated to complimentary Pastéis de Nata and an authentic Portuguese almond liqueur experience. This all came with a handwritten welcome note. The attention to detail in the room and at the hotel was amazing. Unfortunately, I only had one night at the hotel as Lisbon was just a stopover for me this time. Therefore, I really didn't have any expectations but was blown away with my experience there. One disclaimer: The hotel is located in the famous Alfama district )on a very quiet street though) and therefore right on the steep slopes of the neighborhood. It may be a bit tough to access for guests with reduced mobility. If that is not an issue, I highly, highly recommend this place!

We chose the São Vicente Alfama Hotel because it was reasonably priced and it's a "boutique hotel" which means (in a perfect world) more personal care and attention. Our stay there was exceptional. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was comfortable and easily met our needs, and the spa-type shower was most welcome after a long, hot car drive from Algarve.
The breakfast, included in the daily rate, was buffet-style as well as specific menu items, and the setting was lovely, either indoors or just outside on the terrace - designed for relaxation and enjoyment.
We received word the day before our departure date that our flights had been cancelled. Not knowing if we might not have a place to stay the following day, I spoke to the staff in the lobby about our situation and Pedro assured me that should the need arise, we would be taken care of.
Having never been in Lisbon before, we had no idea of what the neighborhood would be like. However, two steps outside the hotel and you become part of the city that belongs to the world.
The breakfast, included in the daily rate, was buffet-style as well as specific menu items, and the setting was lovely, either indoors or just outside on the terrace - designed for relaxation and enjoyment.

Tucked away in Alfama is this beautiful, clean, and modern hotel. An airport transfer arranged by the hotel made for an easy journey after the flight. On arrival, we were greeted by very friendly attentive staff and given a free room upgrade with complementary champagne, cake, and fruit. The room was spacious, clean, and fresh with a modern design and lovely amenities. Breakfast was included with our stay and the restaurant, akin to the hotel, provided fresh pastries (sweet & salty) along with a selection of fruit and meats + cooked to order menu items.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, recommending places to eat out etc. and holding our luggage for us prior to our departure back to the UK.
Every morning there is an open invitation for hotel guests to attend a complementary walking guided tour of the surrounding area in Lisbon, by Antonio. This was an exceptional experience; great for heightening the senses & widening the eyes. Antonio was an encyclopaedia of information, providing us with many ideas for sight seeing and potential future trips; a true gentleman and a pleasure to spend time with.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, recommending places to eat out etc. and holding our luggage for us prior to our departure back to the UK.

Location of the hotel is great once you get your bearings. I must admit we still got lost trying to find it after a couple of days. Our welcome was wonderful and efficient and we were offered a glass of fizzy. The room was exceptional. Clean, spacious and a lovely large walk in shower. Breakfast was very good with smoked salmon and a variety of cold sliced meat on offer. You could also order a cooked breakfast. Paulo was very helpful and attentive. Would have given it five stars except for the fact that our air conditioner had to be set by reception as we could not set it with the control in the room. We had to call reception on a number of occasions and our air conditioner had this annoying clicking noise every time it worked to reach the required temperature. Room 203 just in case you get the same room. Other than that, a most enjoyable stay and near perfect hotel to explore Lisbon. We got the metro to the hotel from the airport but took a local taxi back … reception arranged this for us and it only cost 16 Euros.

We had the pleasure of staying in this brand new hotel, opened September 1st. It might be more difficult to get a room next time because it was really excellent. Brilliant location, friendly and helpful staff, nicely designed rooms, and good breakfast buffet. They even offer a free walking tour of Alfama with inLisbon Tours, highly recommended. They arrange a transport service to and from the airport for €25 that you really should take advantage of, we ended paying nearly twice that with a regular taxi that decided to take advantage of tourists visiting Lisbon for the first time, the service was friendly though. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. An extra tip is to try the restaurant opposite to the hotel, Beco Serio. It was excellent as well, the only restaurant we visited twice during our six days in Lisbon.

We had a taxi come straight to the hotel front door. I know the street in front of the hotel is restricted. Not sure if the city allows Uber or Bolt drivers. But if they don’t, you can get a taxi right at the hotel.
Our room had a small balcony. You could stand outside but you cant sit.
the best way is taxi. Very quick and very affordable
