Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
We recently returned from an 8 night stay at Dare hotel Lisbon. We are a family of four with two kids (9 and 12). From the moment we arrived at this hotel I felt that we were at home. Staff here goes out of there way to make everything perfect. We were welcomed with the offer of a glass of wine or water and asked if there was anything we thought we needed to make the stay better.
The family apartment was amazing with a separate loft that let the kids feel like they had a room all to themselves. Space was plentiful and there was never any issues with bumping into each other. Having two full bathrooms was certainly a plus too!
We had a full kitchen and all the supplies we needed. We did not cook there because of all the amazing restaurants nearby but we certainly could have if we wanted to. Every morning we got fresh rolls and pastries delivered to the door and we were restocked with oranges for the next day's juice every day.
Despite being in the middle of everything I never experienced any problem with street noise and had wonderful restful sleep. We could go to restaurants of every kind within blocks of our hotel and staff was always willing to make recommendations. The subway station was only two blocks away and the tram and bus stop were a 5 minute walk. At Christmas time the Rossio market was two minutes away and was a great place to walk around and try some local flavors.
Shower was hot and the rainfall showerhead was so relaxing. I never experienced any problem with running out of hot water and that is with multiple showers in the morning happening. The A/C was also very good (a rarity in Europe I feel) and the mattresses were very comfortable
I am a lifetime Hilton Diamond member and Hyatt Globalist. We typically stay in these properties whenever we travel but I am so glad that we "Dared" to stay here. It was without a doubt my favorite stay of many trips. Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff here. I really could not come up with a negative if I tried. We hope very much to be back soon.

Most wonderful home away from home. Cannot rate this dear little hotel highly enough. Would go back in a heartbeat!! Especially loved the lack of plastic bottles in the rooms, instead supplying water in a glass jug and oranges to squeeze yourself...when we came back for a second time (on the way home) they even supplied a free bottle of wine, not to mention unlimited glasses of refreshing drink from the bar downstairs. Nothing was too much trouble at the Dare Lisbon...very special indeed.

Visiting Lisbon for the first time we found this apartment hotel online. Arriving late at the airport was no hassle, private pickup for EUR 35 (price is for up to 4 persons) made it very smooth. Return to the airport is EUR 20. The hotel is situated down town in walking distance to all the historic places. You can eat at restaurants in the Alfama old district in romantic settings while listening to passionate Fado live music. You can take the old tram to spots were you can look all over the city. Staying at Dare Lisbon made our stay such a good experience, for wine lovers they even supply you with local wine complimentary from the reception which is something we have never experienced before. The hotel is newly refurbished and gave a very good impression. We will for sure come back again.

Small (approx 20 room) hotel in downtown Lisbon. Close to many tourist areas, but not on a busy street. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Room was clean and organized. There is a TV, safe, kitchen (in living room / entrance room); rain shower in bathroom (water heater can hold about 20 minutes of hot water); bedroom has shutters that open up to a small balcony where one can come out and look down the street. The rooms have some older aspects (tile, walls) that have been preserved, in combination with the newer amenities. Stairs and elevator have art pieces.
Food: there are fruits, wine, juice and coffee near concierge desk, but breakfast is simply brought to your room. The breakfast generally consists of a croissant or pastry and some fruit. The refrigerator has milk and yogurt, and there is cereal, coffee and tea in the cupboard. (I didn't really partake of this, because I wanted to try food at the local restaurants, but if you are pressed for time or very budget-conscious, the breakfast isn't too bad). Breakfast is usually brought to your room around 8am.
Overall, this was my favorite hotel that I stayed in during my European trip.

The location of Dare Lisbon House is excellent. One of the main metro stops is right around the block and the location is right in the center of the old town. Check in/out was fast and the staff was very inviting and helpful. We had a good sized room with kitchen and small eating area. The bed was very comfortable and the street noise was fine with the shuttered windows closed. They deliver fresh breads every morning at 8:00 am (place a bag on your door) and restock the fridge every day with eggs, oranges, yogurt, butter and milk. The bathroom was decent sized for European standards and very clean. The Metro, buses , trams and train stations are all easy walks from this central location. I would gladly stay at the Dare Lisbon House in future visits.

I highly recommend this pet friendly and beautiful hotel right in the middle of Baixa area, close to good shopping and sightseeing. Our room, or I should say apartment, was beautifully decorated and well equipped with a marble tiled bathroom, fully fitted kitchen, living room and comfortable bed. The do-it yourself breakfast consisted high quality produce and fresh bread. We will definitely return to this hotel as soon as possible. A complimentary bottle of wine is always a plus!

I had such an unforgettable experience staying at Dare Lisbon house I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking to visit Lisbon. Firstly the hotel is located centrally close to so many of the cities major attractions with Barrio Alto, Alfama and Placa do Commercial all within a short walking distance.
When I arrived I was greeted by the friendly staff and offered comfortable seat and refreshments in the lobby, the staff then gave a detailed guide on the best places to visit tailoring their advice to what I specifically wanted to see during my stay in Lisbon.
The room itself was more than a hotel room it was like an apartment with a separate bedroom, kitchen/dining area with microwave, stove and refrigerator. The bathroom was also stunning with a large walk in shower and plenty of toiletries provided not your standard tiny bottles of shower gel and shampoo.
As I had the kitchen I was keen to make use of it in the morning for breakfast, but rather than having to venture out to buy pastries from one of the many the nearby pastelerias - the hotel provided locally sourced organic ingredients in the room, including jams, yogurts, eggs and a selection of fruits. Not only did they provide all of this but every morning I received a bag of fresh bread and pastries delivered to the room, these were left on the doorhandle without disturbing me ready for me to collect when I woke up.
I had so many highlights from my time in Lisbon but the stay here just added to the overall experience, when I come back to Lisbon this is the only place I would want to stay.

+1
Hospitality at its finest! Upon arrival we were greeted with our choice of wine, coffee or water. Our concierge was most helpful and guided us to some really great restaurants. She made our reservations and helped us with transportation arrangements. The rooms are beautiful. Fresh pastries delivered every morning. The ONLY reason this isn’t a 5 in my book is due to the bathroom arrangement. There is no privacy. As you walk in the room- the glass shower and toilet are there- then a pocket door separating the dining/kitchen area. (You have to walk through the washroom to the main living areas). Make sure you put the “do not disturb” sign on the exterior door.
Location is great- within walking distance to great shops, restaurants and monuments.

My husband and I stayed at Dare Lisbon for 3 nights in June 2022.
I did a lot of research and there are many choices in Lisbon, that being said we chose Dare and it was the right choice no question!
We will definitely return!
The rooms are beautiful, fresh, clean, spacious and great value. We enjoyed the layout of the room, the elevator, air conditioning, the lobby and hospitality of the staff.
All the staff are all amazing!!
Iris gave us fantastic information on restaurants, booked us a reservation and advised us on sight seeing.
The staff ran right up when I couldn’t find the hair dryer (I should have read the information card), they ran right up when I locked the safe wrong, they provided us with complimentary wine in the lobby as well as fresh warm bread every morning.
Housekeeping was thorough and when we had a small issue with a hinge on our door to the room, it was fixed in minutes.
Thank you for providing us with an amazing experience!

We had no problem with the hot water. It’s an on demand system so the unit is unique to your unit. I like to luxuriate in the shower at home; only modification I made at Dare was to get wet; shut off water while soaping up, and then turn back on right after. I don’t even know if I really needed to do that; I was being cautious to make sure my spouse had a hot shower and we could run the dishwasher right after. I don’t think you’ll have an issue.
we did not have a double room, but bathroom was a door for privacy
