The Pergola Boutique Hotel is a centenary restored family house, that combines the tradition felt in the historic center of Cascais with the modernity of nowadays. It was created by 3 long time friends who grew up in the Village and believed that sharing experiences , creating bonds and friendships is a precious and essential asset. They created Pergola as a home for each and every one of us, always with its doors opened and with its friendly staff to welcome anyone who wanted to embark on this adventure that is discovering the world. At a walking distance from the beach, you can smell the fresh air coming from the sea, mixed with the floral and sweet scents coming from the house's historical garden - one of the main attractions of the house and a must see for everyone who visits Cascais.

The Pergola House is a period property situated in the very centre of Cascais in a beautiful private garden. It is run by the family of the original owners with the utmost care and attention to detail. The rooms are beautiful overlooking the garden, spotlessly clean with air conditioning. The breakfast is superb. Freshly squeezed orange juice, bacon and eggs, bread croissants and cakes, fresh fruit and yoghurt. More than you can eat.
But what really makes your stay special are the exceptionally kind family and staff who are a delight to talk to. Parking is a few minutes away at only €9.90 per day and you are close to the train station and all the shops, restaurants, the harbour and beaches.
Having travelled the world, this is the best guest house of all I’ve stayed in. Enjoy your time in Cascais here!

When we arrived we felt like we were entering an oasis, the hotel is so beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly, observant and open. We immediately felt welcomed and at home.
The hotel is located perfectly (don’t need a car) We were in town but were close to the ocean as well as the train station.
The breakfast was exceptionally good, we were definitely pampered.
The staff was always very helpful with any questions and gave great dinner and sightseeing advice.
The rooms are very clean, smell very good, you have a view and they are a good size.
We loved our vacation there and will definitely come back again.

Simply lovely. The hotel is located in the historic centre of Cascais but seems away from the busy crowds.
The staff Paula, Sofia, and Ana provided excellent service. Our room was comfortable, bright and nicely appointed.
We enjoyed sitting in the private courtyard for a pre-dinner drink and a chat with fellow guests.
Breakfast was wonderful with hot foods in addition to the traditional Portuguese fare. Great coffee too!
Highly recommend

We were really looking forward to our stay here - and the courtyard and building are beautiful. Unfortunately the hotel have made the decision to rent out most of the ground floor to an external party who operate a restaurant. The website states this closes at 11pm but in fact it is noisy from around 6pm up until 1145. We had three rooms on our booking, all of whom were kept awake and/or woken up by the restaurant, other guests, or staff. I appreciate this is a central location, but it's the lack of sound insulation and choice to operate a bustling restaurant right next to hotel rooms that is the issue here.

We have so far waited for any response from management on this. Despite other guests having complained about the exact same issue earlier in the year, it seems like the restaurant takes priority over hotel guests being able to sleep and enjoy their rooms. Our booking was worth 1500 euros, and we had some of the worst sleep of any place we have stayed.

We stayed here for 2 nights and would highly recommend it. The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast is ordered from a menu and you can order as much as you want - it was all delicious! The gardens in front make the house feel sheltered from the busyness, even though Pergola House is in the center of the old town.

The building and gardens are lovely. The breakfast was like eating at a fine hotel… But, the bathroom had a horrible smell and the B&B was being renovated and we were not given this information before hand. The management tried to make it right by offering a bottle of wine, comping the first night and saying they would try to move us to another room. We decided that it wasn’t worth packing up and unpacking again as we were going on to Lisbon, so we left and went to Sintra for the day instead (which we loved). The management did refund us completely for our stay which was very professional. Before booking check if there are renovations going on.

Amazing gardens! Such a beautiful hidden gem of a property. Literally people would stop and take pictures of the house and gardens through the gate. We were offered a wine upon arrival and the hotel managers helped us settle in. Hotel was very pretty, boutique style offering seating in the gardens and a common room. Rooms were small, decorated neatly and offered a convenient beverage selection. We let them know we were celebrating a special occasion and they added some much appreciated extras that made us smile. Breakfast was served outside and was a wonderful variety of freshly made items. We had a minor glitch with one of the rooms during our stay that was quickly remedied by the extremely competent day hotel managers. The hotel recently finished renovations after a change of ownership. It appears they are gearing up to be a property that will be in high demand!

Wonderful villa with a beautiful garden, both very tidy. The rooms and other spaces are cozy, bright and very clean. Breakfast is full, various and tidy. Staff and owners very kind and every day at 7 pm guests are served a glass of excellent port in the lounge where it seems to be at home and not in a hotel. Great location, right in the center of Cascais.

Absolutely enchanting B & B.
In centre of Casacais ,close to everything.
The staff were wonderful. Spoke to the owner who said that house has been in the family for a 100 years. Fascinating house with so many ornaments on display that the family had gathered over the years. Room was wonderful. Breakfast was exeptional.
Gardens are immaculate . The photo of the front of the house does not do it justice . You have to see it for real.
A small tip if you are driving to Cascais. Pergola does not have parking .
But the train station which is 2 minutes away has a car park.
We parked the car there and it is only Euros 4 per day ,so Euros 12 in total for our 3 day stay.

This is our second stay at the Pergola and it will not be our last!
This is a fabulous boutique hotel well placed in Cascais. The grounds are lovely, the interior is elegant and the staff wonderful. The rooms are large and beds comfortable.
The hotel recently changed management but has retained its charm.
One change is that breakfast is meatless. Each day has a featured juice and a special in addition to the standards.
The one downside is that internet coverage is poor in the bedrooms.
