Commanding breathtaking views to the Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by pinetrees, Senhora da Guia is a 5 star charming boutique hotel offering a relaxed and a very comfortable ambiance amidst nature on the Lisbon Coast. For more than thirty years Senhora da Guia is synonymous with great accommodation, attentive service and delicious food.Senhora da Guia is conveniently located in between the many delights of Cascais and the beauty of the Guincho beaches. Our guests appreciate the perfect setting for relaxation right on the doorstep of the Atlantic Ocean, with a neighboring golf course and the picturesque town of Sintra a short drive awayEach of the three buildings making up Senhora da Guia is charming in its own right. The main building in subdued, sun-kissed orange hosts our reception, lobby, restaurant, spa and several of our rooms and suites. The adjoining building in a warm shade of yellow is surrounded by pine trees, with all the rooms overlooking a lush green lawn with palm trees. The third, terra cotta colored part of the hotel is built around a courtyard with a delightful little fountain. The ambience is incredibly warm and welcoming!

Detailed Reviews
Nice hotel, but the rooms are quite small, no elevator to the first floor, but nice spa.
Was there for business for two nights. The spa area is nice with a hammam, a sauna and an indoor pool aswell as an outdoor pool.
Breakfast was quite good. Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, salmon, cheeses, breads, fruit juices. etc.
Staff was friendly, location a bit outside of Cascais, so we Uber'd a lot, which works very well. On average it took about 2 min for an Uber to arrive and cost about € 4.- per ride to Cascais.

Not a five star hotel. Room was nice, with a balcony and a lovely view of the sea, but we paid extra for that. Bathroom was small, much smaller than in other rooms. No restaurant after 6pm and no bar after 7pm. Extra charges for everything, if they rang a taxi for you they charged €4! Chocolate bar from the mini bar was €6! We had a lovely time because we were attending a wedding, but I wouldn't go back for a regular holiday to be honest.

We visited hotel during the pandemic and had never doupts that we are completely safe! On top of that we have been treated with friendly and professional way. The room was cosy and equipped with all needed and some extra stuff. Maybe the minibar could be colder and a bit larger. All other way the room satified all our needs. All food like breakfast and snacks in pool bar gets my high recommentation, tasty and fresh! We will probably come again!

We booked 4 nights at this place a few months ago, we were ok to even pay in advance, that was our choice, we received a room different from what we booked. We booked, on Booking, based on the description of the room and the photos ( the room should have an ocean view with a balcony/terrace, it only had a window with an ocean view). They offered us an alternative, a room for only two nights with a balcony, but no AC, obviously we refused, the second time we discussed with them after two nights, they didn't offer us an alternative anymore. We asked them to make a reservation for a taxi at 5:45 AM, after a few minutes of waiting we found out at the reception that there was no reservation, but thankfully we were able to find one quite fast -but it was very stressful to find out that you might have to change plans because you cannot get to the wanted place on time. We asked them again to make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant near the hotel, the reservation was made and the guys at the restaurant put us at the entry at a table of four, "very nice atmosfere for a dinne r". From my point of view they have a duble standard based on the nationality of the clients or they are simply unprepared. They say 5 stars, with indulgence 3.

It is baffling that this hotel has such a high rating. And that it costs so much. Perhaps the management has been replaced recently?
As it is, there are much, much better (and less expensive) places in Cascais. The location is unpractical - a car is needed to get anywhere to eat, drink or do any kind of activity. The walk in front of the hotel (leading to rocks, not to a beach) is by the side of a road where cars and trucks go uncomfortably fast and the air is pretty polluted. The hotel itself is extraordinarily noisy (doors and walls are so flimsy that one could assume they are not there), the infrastructure (cabinets, doors, plumbing) is falling to pieces, the restaurant is truly mediocre, the spa sad and minimal, the service impersonal and uninterested at best.
But being awaken by the manager who talks to his colleague in the reception way too loud past midnight, then, when asked (very politely) if he can lower his voice a little bit, responds rudely and then resumes talking at exactly the same volume, and for another half an hour? This is something straight from Fawlty Towers…
One has the sense that the staff is unhappy and demoralized and cannot be bothered to do even the bare minimum to try and maintain a 5-star rating - a rating which is as undeserved as I have ever found.

We went for New Year's Eve (we arrived the day before) and booked a room on the booking app which had photos that didn't match reality at all. The room was shabby, the sheets were full of holes, the television was too old. There was a lack of ammenities, slippers, the air conditioning took too long to work and we heard other guests complaining about it. The Turkish bath didn't work and the spa closes at 6 p.m. We arrived at the spa on the first day and it was as shown in the picture, with a couple drinking and smoking inside, even drinking alcohol in the pool. I don't know how they got in with the beers, or how it took us to get there to report the situation. We complained to reception, and the next day they were still going to enter the spa with alcohol. I don't recommend it, it wasn't a good experience at all. We arrived at 10am for breakfast and everything was empty. Not worth the money.

Awful experience with attempting to plan our wedding here. We first came across the venue in November 2023 and reached out looking for information but heard nothing back. After a few emails and attempts to contact them on social media to no avail, I emailed the hotel in mid December and asked about talking to someone about our wedding. The hotel told me that the events team had already finished for Christmas and someone would contact me by a certain date in January when they returned.
That January date came and went, and I heard nothing, so another week later I reached out again and got no response. I eventually rang the hotel and was told that I had to just wait and someone would contact me at some stage, to which I said that we weren't going to just wait as we were trying to plan a wedding and that we were really disappointed but would have to just move on and look elsewhere. I received an email from Marine in the events team very shortly after that phone call and was delighted. We scheduled a zoom meeting for a couple of weeks later.
We had the zoom and everything went great, we were confident that we had found our venue which we told Marine and she was very happy to hear this and said that she looked forward to working with us etc. Our next step was to book a visit to the venue and set our date.
We had some back and forth communication with them in the days that followed where we scheduled a date for our visit and got some more information.
The week of our visit comes and we were due to fly out and meet with them on the Friday. On Tuesday I emailed to confirm everything to which I received a warm response confirming everything. A few hours later, I received an email from them addressed to "Valued Clients" stating that actually they would no longer be doing weddings from 2025 because they are under new administration. I emailed back that I was really confused seeing as just this morning she confirmed our meeting for later that week to set our date for 2025. She said she was sorry but that there was nothing they could do.
At this stage it was now nearly 4 months since I had initially tried to make contact with them, and around 2 months since we had first heard back from Marine and thought that we had found out venue. All of this time was now wasted, as was the money for our flights which we were not able to get back. We were now back to square one with our planning.
We should have just walked away at the start when it was so difficult to contact them, but we loved the venue so much and it was the only one that ticked all of the boxes on our wish list so we ignored these red flags, which was our mistake.
Absolutely terrible experience. Granted if they were under new administration it could have been out of their hands but the way it was handled and communicated to us was just so poor. We just were so glad that we hadn't actually set our date yet and no money had changed hands because I can't imagine what a nightmare that would have been

We stayed at the Senhora da Guia two nights. It is a very pretty hotel with nice rooms. They're not huge and frankly I thought we would have a little bit more of a view of the sea but that's just from the impression I had of a picture I saw in advance. It is VERY close and we did have a view!! The room was also a bit smaller than I expected considering the price. It has a cozy feel which is great. It's not one of those big modern places. The breakfast was very nice. I was disappointed because I chose it for the gym and the gym was under renovation. I think hotels should let their guest know about something like that in advance. The hotel is well located about 1 km outside the main part of town.

Liked the hotel a lot . Not a regular hotel but one with an authentic style to it . All tough it isn’t new but it is very well kept . Loved the pool and the special design of the rooms spread around a green grass lawn . The breakfast and lunch are served with a great view to the pool and gardens . Parking is available in the area with no extra cost .

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. Not in the center of Cascais but the quiet and silence and oceanfront views are priceless. Very nice and clean room with all the comforts, I really enjoyed the balcony where to have coffee in the morning. Many small cuddles as the coffee machine, the comfortable bed and the cleanliness. But the services are not as I expected, the SPA certainly does improve for a 5 star, the water dea pool too cold, also the bar closed at 21:00 and no possibility of dinner. Too bad definitely to improve, the staff very friendly and helpful but the services are not up to scratch

Hi there,
Yes it quite place, should not have any issues with noise. However regarding black curtains I don't really remember if they have. Place is nice, rich breakfast, if you like seafood there is literally just across the road 2min walk best sea food restaurant in the area. However house restaurant is great too with good selection of wines.
It does have a few steps which are steep, but it has a children's pool, so I would say it would be ok. There's great food here so you could eat at the hotel, and the restaurant across the road is good.
