Our hostel is a remodeled family house located in Sagres just near one of the most paradisiac beach in Sagres called Martinhal! This is one of the best spots to make snorkeling, scuba diving and many other aquatic sports that you can imagine, or even just to chill at the beach and get some sun in a relaxed and quiet place…Our location allows you to walk to the main road where you will find supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy´s, post office, shops, and as well where all the night life happens!!In this lovely village, still remote and undiscovered by many people, Sagres has a lot to offer from visiting historic places like the Sagres, Fortress or the Saint Vicent´s Cape to watch the most beautiful sunset in Europe, and many, many other locals... With a lot of good restaurants where you can choose from Mexican food and place to chill,or to eat the best fresh fish just caught: Bars and disco will fill in your night, and give you a lot to work on!!

Detailed Reviews
My husband and I took the Open Water Diver course and stayed in their accommodation (private bungalow) for a week. The course with Ana was fantastic, she went through everything with patience and safety while making it super fun, and we were impressed by how quickly and smoothly we learned over the week. Accommodation was good: comfortable bed, clean, well equipped kitchenette and close to a grocery store as well as many restaurants and beaches. Everyone in the the staff was extremely kind, and the place just has a great vibe.

Room Tip: Cris helped us with a taxi from Faro airport which was great value for money, worth asking him.

You will have trouble deciding what's better - scuba diving or accommodation. Host is lovely and rooms are cosy, clean and comfy. Diving is breathtaking (ha! pun intented), and the stuff you'll see underwater cannot be described by words. Cristóvão is an amazing instructor and he will take care of every detail. Would recommend to anyone regardless of age or anything. Dress up because Sagres gets really windy at night, so dont be stupid like me and bring only swimming suits and t-shirts.

My dad booked a surprise first dive for my family and it was amazing! We were lucky, the weather was perfect, we got to see loads of fish, an octopus, starfish and a cuttlefish! Riccardo was an amazing teacher ☺️ thank you for this amazing experience, we will definitively be back !

The diving expirience was very good for a fresh diver. They tought me the basics and everything i needed to know to dive. We spent 2 hours on land learning the rules and setting up everything, and 2 hours in the water diving and practicing. I went there alone, but i think this is a good group activity as well. They covered transport from and to the beach. The diving facility was quite ceantral. They spoke good english, and they responded quick when i called them.
The pricing was quite expensive, 90£ for one person. The website has not updated its prices, i was only supposed to pay 80£. They only took cash and not card.
I was only here for the diving experience, not to sleepover.

We've stayed 2nights in Puravida, it was very nice and the hosts were very friendly.
The room is comfortable(twin beds) and the bathroom (shared) was very clean. There are 2 bathrooms for 4 rooms.
During the morning it's a bit noisy because of the breakfast and the other clients using their bathrooms.

PuraVida is a wonderful place where the care that Joanna and Cris have put into it shows in every detail. I've never stayed in a hostel that felt as homely as this, with such great hosts and a lovely light and warm atmosphere. I would love to return.

I came to sagres for writing on an article - so i needed a working environment for a bit more than a month. Meaning: internet acces, a private desktop where to work undesturbedly and could put my literature, good lighting (to work at nights ;-)), and most important: silence to concentrate. But also a random moment of socializing and a (good!) coffee when i am stuck. what can i say: all this was provided with a smile and to my fullest satisfaction.
But i also came to enjoy the beauty of the Algarve. Joana and Chris (the hosts) not only provided me with the obligatory amenities of a coasy guesthouse and some fundamental knowledge about the region, surfing and diving sites. But i also found myself in a very open house, with friends from Sagres and all over the world stopping over for a chat/beer/bbq/coffee - and always felt most welcome to participate in such happenings. Which I did, of course. Especially the new years eve and Chris` Birthday were nights to remember - what happens ins Sagres stays in Sagres.
The only downsides i could find was the very small but bathroom of my garden cabana and the matress, which is not perfectly appropriate for someone suffering from back pain. well - and sometimes the weather (January) was not exactly what you picture when you think of the Algarve.
To sum it up: I was looking for a special place to work in first place - which needed ultimate privacy and concentration. Besides that i am a social person and enjoy distractive company when i am off. I found both here. So Pura Vida Divehouse was an excellent choice - far beyond the standards of clean facilities, centrality and privacy. Thank you very much.
Best,
Peter,

We arrived here by chance after having travelled down the coast from Lisbon. It's quite difficult to put in words how magical our time in the dive house was. The place has been recently renovated and is run by a fantastic family. Rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious... The house is splendid. The energy in this place is truly something special, we found it very difficult to leave. Joana and Chris ( the owners) invited us to dine with their friends and family. A friend of theirs is a fisherman so we had fresh seabass, seafood, and amazing portuguese food every night. I recommend this place!!!!!
