The rooms, the chilling area, the rooftop terrace, the owner and the staff have simply been wonderful. I had a very nice stay there and would definitely recommend this camp. Also important mentioning is the delicious breakfast for individual diets - also vegan :)

Lovely hostel and excellent staff! Not only do you feel very welcome, but whenever you need help they go the extra mile to meet your needs.
Also a great location where you're a short walk from cafe's bars and restaurants, while also not far from the main beach.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a great hostel in Sages.

I had a surf lesson with Thiago. It was extremely helpful and so much fun. He took a lot of time to show us beginners the most important basics not only about surfing, positions and techniques, but also about safety in the water and what aspects of conditions to think about before you go into the water.
He was a motivated and encouraging teacher, but also always had great advice how to immediately improve. And it really worked right away.
Last but not least he also had a couple of good jokes on the hand for each situation ;)
Thanks for letting me have so much fun!

I found the Sagres Natura on my way to the Tonel beach and it was a great choice. This was my second time surfing. In four lessons, I learned a lot of things that I couldn't do before. All the instructors were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed surfing.

A very friendly, small surf camp, with lovely accommodation and a friendly welcome. There is a nice garden with a little jacuzzi. The lessons are excellent and were really comprehensive. Also, there are pancakes and fresh orange juice for breakfast.

Really great surf camp. The rooms are freshly renovated and are very nice. The breakfast is good and there is a big and well-equipped kitchen to cook in the evening. The surfing lessons are fantastic, the teachers are really friendly and knowledgeable and give you great advice how to improve. The atmosphere is wonderful, welcoming and fun, both from the other guests as well as the owners/teachers.

The rooms are just about spacious enough for 4 beds where I stayed, plus we had a balcony. Rooms were cleaned everyday, and the bathrooms were clean. The location is within walking distance to the centre and the staff working on the camp are very laid back friendly and helpful. Had a great time Surfing and meeting all the other guys on camp.

Sagres (Sagresh) is on the Southern-most tip of Europe jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean and the first landfall for the Westerly swells rolling in from deep sea. This stretch of coast picks up more swell than any where else on the continent. The village itself is quite bleak and run down and the look of the area reminds me a lot of the South African Cape West coast. It is ideally placed though for the best surf spots in the Algarve.
I was less than charmed by the surf lodge I had booked into. More like a youth hostel but at least I had my own bathroom. I chose it because I was hoping to get advice on the best spots in the area and was vindicated soon after arriving. A hard core Aussie from the Gold Coast (now in London) told me where to go.
The first day I arrived I surfed Berliche, a stunning beach at the foot of dramatic sandstone cliffs. There is a good left off the rocks on the far side of the beach and a middling but vicious beach break in the centre. Very crowded.
The next day I went to Adamo, a twenty minute drive to the West coast. Another beautiful setting and much greener. It is a big beach and the best waves to be had are in the North corner breaking on a partially sand-covered reef break. The swell was about six foot and the paddle out very difficult made more so by a partial onshore that had the waves all over the place. The next day the wind had changed to a gentle NNW, better direction for the break although a North East would be ideal. I got there at 9.30 which evidentially was quite early because there was no-one out. A lot of people were hanging around the look-out and the car park contemplating when to go in. I was the first to paddle out. It was much easier this time with the cleaner swell. I felt a lot of eyes on me as I lined up a right and paddled like hell. The take-off was very makeable and I had a decent ride, bottom turn, top turn and a short wall before I kicked out. Given that so many people were watching and waiting for my first ride I was very pleased that I hadn’t screwed it up. Paddling back out I stupidly ended up with the reef in front of me just as a wave hit and jacked up so high that I couldn’t see the sky. I tried to kick through the wall but it was too thick and went flying backwards as the wave broke, tumbling for what seemed like ages. I had a great left after that, seriously steep take off, full speed down the face, long arching bottom turn then straight into the white water collapsing off the face. Fantastic! A few minutes later two guys paddled out and then the flood started. By the time I left the beach there more than 30 people out.
