Detailed Reviews
Initially I was a bit wary about this hotel due to all the other negative reviews, however it seems all the negative reviews have came from people wanting something for nothing.
We booked this hotel in December for a long weekend/ cheap getaway, you get what you pay for.
For the price we weren’t expecting much and that what we received, a very basic hotel, bed, bathroom, living/ kitchen area.
All areas of the apartment were very clean, the bed weren’t the comfiest, however, they were more than suitable. This hotel is marketed as more self catering apartments, therefore, there is no maid service unless requested and also involves a fee if I remember correctly.
The location of this accommodation was very central to all local amenities. Some reviews mentioned a traveller camp across the road, I didn’t even notice this camp until the last day and it was only because I saw some washing hanging on a line, there was no noise from the camp.
You get what you pay for this is a very basic but clean apartment, if you are looking for 5* pay more, if you just want somewhere clean to rest your head whilst you explore the area this is perfect.

Me and my partner stayed here for a couple of weeks at the beginning of December. The front desk is open between 9 am - 5 pm, the receptionist is friendly.
Our room was on the 3rd floor and our view was facing another apartment, but wasn't a bad view overall.
The maids come once a week to change the bedsheets, towels etc.
This building has permanent residents as it is more of an apartment rather than a hotel. There was often funny smells lingering in the lifts and hallways, but this can't really be avoided. You can often hear people in other rooms moving furniture around.
It is about a 10 minute walk to Lidl, McDonalds and the Continente shopping centre. The shopping centre has pretty much everything you need like a pharmacy, Grocery store and dine in restaurants such as Burger Ranch. There's also a cinema.
It is approximately a 20 minute walk to Praia De Rocha (the beach strip). There is a reasonable amount of restaurants here but not a massive selection if you aren't fond of seafood.
I would recommend visiting 'Terraza by La Gioconda'. They have delicious burgers and desserts, they also have pastas but we didn't have that. Reasonably priced too.
I have seen reviews which complain about the 'gypsy camp' opposite. We didn't really have any complaints about this but our room wasn't facing that direction. We did hear the roosters and dogs but it wasn't too loud to keep us awake. The building attached to Studio 17 is currently under construction but this is done during sociable hours.
We have learnt that the bin men come at nightime between 9 pm - 11 pm ish and it is quite noisy. Any extra rubbish you have, can be put in the bins which are outside the property.

We are back today after a week in studio 7 and we like everything. Quiet environment and no noise at night. Careful employees. We went with some fear due to the comments we read here but it was a pleasant surprise. The apartment was clean and the bathroom was sanitized when we arrived. The apartment is equipped to make meals, we have towels available, well made bed and with 4 pillows. Ac in the room and in the living room. Possibility to make meals both inside the apartment and on the balcony, in our case, overlooking the pool. I think people have to understand that Studio 7 is not a hotel but a group of apartments, as such, there is no room cleaning available every day as in hotels. Regarding the common areas, in 8 days, I just did not see the pool maintenance employee 1 single day, because in the rest, there was always someone doing the pool maintenance, it was enough for people to wake up early to see the same as us. Coming back definitely!!

The studio was dirty when we arrived, full of dust, things in bad condition, it looked like the room hadn't even been clean.
To have cleanliness in the room has to hire an extra - being that even when we arrive supposedly already clean leaves a lot to be desired.
There is no Air Conditioning - which in the Algarve, in the summer, is not understood.
Sofa full of cracks, it's almost nasty to be using things from that apartment. The exhaust does not work. There's no cleaning even 2 in 2 days.
Badge curtain unhygienic.
Swimming pool pretty dirty (the water) and without any kind of maintenance (at least during the week we had there).
You don't understand how you pay a not so low amount, you talk to the people at the reception to demonstrate that it's dirty and get indignant. I am indignant with this accommodation.
The immediate surroundings of the location of the accommodation also leaves much to be desired..
One of the worst I've ever been to the Algarve - not coming back.

I am trying to contact atlantichotel because my 200€ security deposit still hasn’t been refunded after more than a week. We left the room in order and the front desk ensured we would refunded even giving me documents attesting it yet the money hasn’t shown up on my account. Please take action I have been calling non stop everyday without answer.

This is the second time we stayed here. I like the apartments, but apparently the allocation of apartments is not being done taking into account the type of guests. This time we planned to stay 11 nights and they gave us a tiny apartment, with a kitchenette in the living room, the living room is small, the couch is not the sofa but a bed with an extra drawer for second person. In the end, it is a disappointment, first of all because we are 5 and we are here for 11 nights, in these conditions, while there are couples who stayed in the larger apartments. When I went to the reception to address this issue, they said that there was no availability and even if there was would have to pay an extra, nevertheless, they did not contact me to change. Cleaning is done once a week and for this week we were entitled to 2 rolls of toilet paper, which is not enough, you have to buy more. It's a pity, because I paid a lot more than last time and received a lot less.

Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. The kitchen dishes and hob were visibly dirty. Furthermore, the apartment where we stayed did not contain all the recommended dishes and utensils. It is necessary to pay attention to this detail as they ask for a deposit of €200 at entry and all the contents of the room have an additional deposit.
The apartment is extremely hot, there is no air conditioning, just a fan full of dust. I don't understand how it is that in a place like this and in the summer there is no air conditioning.
The first aid box was completely empty (it only contained the packaging without the products).
The sofa has several tears. The TV doesn't get a signal from the 4 national channels, despite it getting a signal from all the others, which I found strange.
In short, I do not recommend this location and will not be returning. For the price, there will certainly be better alternatives.

Starting off Portugal is a lovely country , however this hotel really let down my experience . The hotel cleaners did not clean the hotel rooms up to standard etc sweeping dirt into a corner of the room . We also had other residents in our hotel stay . It was birds . This issue traumatised my children to the point it was a big concern and it had to be further investigated . When the issue was brang up we were dismissed and they concluded us to be liars . However after further pushing for the issue to be resolved they found three birds with a nest living in my children’s room and told us “our bad it is fine now”. Shocking is the only word for this . Compensation wasn’t granted however free food was . All I can say is we got what we paid for hence it being free . This is a nice place to stay if u aren’t staying in the hotel for majority of the time and not bothered of certain standards but pictures of this was deceiving I must admit . However , we did enjoy the pool and karaoke at least so I will give the hotel that . More organisation is needed.

We didn’t have high expectations booking the complex for the price we got it (it was a last minute need to be in the area booking) but even at that the place was not great.
The rooms are basic with a lot of broken items - broken outdoor furniture, broken couch, broken sweeping brush to make a few.
The rooms are not serviced during your stay and they charge you €25 for a fresh towel.
We had silver fish in one of the 3 apartments and another smelt extremely bad, none of the apartments we had had air con.
This is a residential area directly across from locals living with dogs and chooks who like to cockadoodle and howl with the sun rising.
You will have to taxi most places - bolt is recommended to use and was super cheap.
I wouldn’t not recommend for a holiday /break away but if you need to be in that specific area for a night or two, it’s fine.
The shower was good and the beds were ok.
We didn’t use the pool area but it looked fine.
There is a small reception that is open until 5pm, other than this there are no other facilities in the complex.

My wife booked a last minute winter sun break for us and to be honest looking at some of the reviews it was in the back of my mind that it was off season and if it really was that horrific we could find somewhere else in the area quite cheap.
What a surprise when we got there.
I'm not sure if they have had a massive clean up of their act or what but there were no strange smells in the apartment, we barely noticed the small gypsy camp across the road, the place was lovely and clean (OK it was very basic kitchen but we were on holiday and ate out a lot), the pool was small but nice and clean.
As for the beds, I have slept on much worse beds in hotels that have cost a lot more per night.
They charge extra if you want your towels changed through your stay and they offer a wash only laundry service for €10 a load.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for. But I liked it here and would go back again, it's just a place to sleep, you want more go to a hotel and pay more
