Clean hotel and apartment. Going in October meant the pool area was quiet. But that’s about the best of it, the apartment had two single beds that were too short for both me and my wife, the mattresses were rock hard and the pillows were paper thin, glad we only stayed 3 nights. We went all inclusive but went out for food and drinks due to the terrible options for drinks and food. The apartments are not equipped for anyone choosing self catering. There is no way that place could cope when it’s high season. Mainly French and British people there, most staff speak French and struggle to speak English. The receptionist speak good English. I would not recommend this hotel.

We have stayed in Villarosa first week of October 2022 and I could not be happier to write this review! The hotel is pretty close to the beach (10 min walk) and rooms were quite modern and very clean. We went with the All Inclusive option and without the doubt it was thew best all inclusive we ever had. Beer was served in a normal pint glass (not some tiny little cups like in some other hotels) and it was very good Portuguese beer. There was many other options alcohol wise like a cocktail of the day and various spirits. You could even take it up to your room if you would like. Food was pretty decent, there was always a choice of a meat, fish, pasta and many salads. But what was the best about the hotel its the staff. All the bar tenders/waiting staff were amazing (big shout out to Christine, Sophia and Sabrina), some of them were working really long hours but were always smiled and polite. I will definitely come back to this hotel! Do not look at the bad reviews, most of them are waaay exaggerated. Overall I really recommend the place :)

I've been to Ancient Homes with more animation. The pool closes at 20:00, the bar closes at 23:00. Get out of there until the lights go out. To really avoid. It's not anymore or it was. In the full month of August in the Algarve and with everyone on holiday this condo type house of the Artist wants everything in the bed.

first of all -rooms allocated were not as booked and had to organise a room change!! all inclusive food was dreadful, I am gluten intolerant and was extremely limited with options available, food not very warm in fact COLD on more than one occasion!! not as close to beach as advertised long walk, I have stayed all inclusive many times and this was by far the worse. Limited times for ice creams? had to ask for snacks in the afternoon? some of the staff need to learn customer service? entertainment twice weekly? . POSITIVES - the rooms were cleaned and beds changed every 3 days - cant really think of any other positives

From start to finish, the staff were really helpful. We arrived early to be told check-in wasn't for a few hours, however our room was already ready so we were able to check in early and get on with our holiday. We stayed for two nights in early February 2023, the weather was great and the hotel was quiet, which was nice. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the beach, where there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars, most of which were all open, which was good considering the time of year. I expect that the area would be more lively and busy in the summer months, however we would most definatly visit again at the same time of year - we had the best time!
The only fault we found was that during our 3 day stay, the main pool was drained for cleaning (see photos), and only the smaller pool was open, even though I contacted the hotel beforehand and asked if both pools would be open for our stay, to which they replied yes. This didnt affect our stay however, as it wasn't really warm enough anyway to go in the swimming pool when we went; I cant fault the hotel for wanting to get the property ready for the summer season to be honest.
Other facilities we enjoyed were the tennis courts, which were able to use for an hour, including equipment, for only 6 euros.
In summary, this is a brilliant hotel in an excellent location and we would definatley visit again! Thankyou

After 3 visits, unfortunately, and to my great sadness, it is no longer what it was! Location 5 stars, staff 5 stars, friendly and 100% helpful. But in terms of animation and all-inclusive (mainly food) leaves much to be desired for what is paid. Eate hotel only fits the employees, of the 3 times I was there were always 5 stars (the first time the animation and feeding were also at least 4 stars, but it was already in 2017, I think ....)

Club villa rosa apartments are great. Large convenient clean a nice teraas kitchen diner table, everything you need. Groceries you can buy at continente a 17 minutes walk away, a very large supermarket with a seperate bakery, fish market and butcher for fresh food to try the local food. The resort had 2 pools which kids enjoyed a lot the second pool was close to our appartment and was quiet. The beach is a 10 minute walk playa rocha big and beautifull, the town portimao is a 22 minute walk, if you dont want the walk UBER is a eur 4 trip to portimao city centre. Staff is friendly and apartment is cleaned regulary. All other trips are within walking distance (catamaran rides and jeep rides for instance). The roads are not busy and the sidewalks are comfortable for walking. This is a very well situated resort with everything you can wish for in and closeby out of the resort.

We arrived at 11am, to be told check in wasn't until 4pm. Fantastic with a family who have been travelling since 2am. We go back to the reception at 345 to try our luck- 1 room was ready but the family room was not. When the room was ready, finally at 515, it was still dirty with the previous clients hair left under the dressing table and next to the bed.
The rooms although booked together, were nowhere near each other.
The hotel advertises entertainment throughout Summer, 8am-12am. The only entertainment on offer is Aqua Zumba on a Tuesday and Saturday afternoon and a live singer also on a Tuesday and Saturday evening.
No kids clubs or entertainment for children.
Breakfast was poor, OK if you enjoy eating food that has had flies all over it.
Pool was nice, cold at first but you get used to it- could do with the missing tiles at the bottom being replaced so you don't stub your toe.
No shop on site, all boarded up. Noisy area around 11pm.
Close enough to the local strip, a 10 min walk but not unpleasant, close proximity to Portimao.
Beds comfy and pillows. However, pillows are the size of a placemat and its 1 each.
Staff were mostly nice and the snack menu food on offer was pleasant, however i wouldn't trust their all inclusive offerings.
Although sun lounger hogging is 'forbidden', it isn't policed and people are able to have their sunbeds ready for when they come back to the pool area around 4pm
We love Portugal, however we won't be returning to this hotel.

Apartment was down the road 300 yards we had to go through under ground car park off the complex very dark apartment. we got moved but at extra cost. Food was very poor hot food was always cold no matter what time you arrive to eat 10 days of cold food. All entertainment was done in French so English speaking guests were not able to join in. The staff were very friendly and place was clean but won’t be back or recommending it to friends

Hi check in is from 4pm & the hotel is good at dealing with requests for rooms. An upper room with a balcony is definitely recommended as it's so peaceful & relaxing
There are more places to choose from in the Portimao area.
