Perfect stay on Hill, with great views, pool to die for, clean rooms, fair price and kind people. They also clean our clothes and allow us ti make grill on their barbecue... Best stay in Portugal. Thank you Joao and others :)

We would recommend anyone to come and stay in this beautiful piece of heaven! Our two children 3 and 5 years old loved the little playground, the hammock and the animals plus it was a real treat for them to get to pick their own fruit. The pool is just amazing, what a view! If you want to go to a beach it only takes 30-40 min by car. We hope to come back some day!

A superb location on the slope of the Picota close to Caldas de Monchique. A very friendly host, well organized and "rooms" complete, well thought through. Looking for a quiet place, go there. Walking options and sea closeby. Restaurants not that far away, breakfast complete and Englisg no issue.

Cannot thank João enough - communication prior to and throughout our 2 day stay at Quinta Da Idalina was fantastic.
Accommodation is lovely, note that it is set very far in the mountains so a hire car would be advisable. Very remote and peaceful so definitely not for you if you’re looking for fast-paced nightlife but definitely for you if you want to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet.
WiFi is available in the rooms and breakfast although basic, is tasty and served each morning.
Local taxi driver Carlos (number available from João) and airport transfer Francisco are both amazing!

The romantic and cozy little apartments are located about a ten minute drive from Monchique on a wonderfully quiet and set-back hill. The pool with-a-view and the friendly and helpful owner Joao complete our impression of the Quinta as the perfect get-away from buzzing city life or stressful job for couples and families alike.

João and his family are extremely accommodating, we arrived in the area of Monchique late in the evening and he came out of his way to find us to help us locate the property. We got to his beautiful accommodation very late and he kindly provided us with snacks as we missed dinner. João was very helpful and friendly and knowledgable about the surrounding area where he suggested some stunning viewpoints of the mountains.
Quinta da Idalina has picturesque views and beautiful sitting areas around the pool. The apartment is extremely clean and spacious, João and his family are very generous they allow you to help yourself to their homegrown produces.
We would most definitely recommend and will be returning.

Dear João & family and Daniella, we wished to say that we had a very pleasant stay up on the hill, in the calm amongst the trees. We will specially remember the first night when we just arrived and improvised dinner in your sweet little family restaurant down on the main road. It was nice to meet the lady Idalina and her sisters and enjoy the famous chicken piri-piri! If felt like home and it was good to have some genuine human contact away from our busy busy lives in Paris. You have started a challenging adventure and have a great place, tidy, comfortable and well equipped (and the Wi-Fi reception is surprising). Warmth, smiles and quality are the secret to success. Keep it up and good luck! Cheers. And merry Christmas. Kristel and Kevin from Paris.
