We booked for two nights in to the Bela Adormecida (Sleeping Beauty) and could have stayed forever. This was an amazing boutique property complete with its own Princess, Katinka. Each room is uniquely and thoughtfully decorated with beautiful pieces of art and furnishings all around the property. The grounds are also perfect with different areas to relax. Situated in the heart of Caldas de Monchique, I would highly recommend booking Bela Adormecida to enjoy it as much as we did. Katinka the owner is such a warm, helpful and friendly person who has created this magical castle and is eager for guests to share this with her. Who else would get up at 0630 in the morning and make pancakes with numerous toppings and fresh fruits for their guests??? We will certainly return. xx

Very nice house, well decorated, with a very charismatic lady owner. It was a very peaceful stay. The 1st floor room was individual bathroom outside the room, but not a problem. There are enough spaces outside to read a restful book and listen to nature. Katinka, the owner, can organize an on-demand brunch that can be enjoyed in the shade of the large rubber tree in the garden.

I had an amazing stay at Katinka´s Bela Adormecida. I really felt like a queen. In the morning you wake up to nothing but the birds chirping and a distant sheep bleating. Do not forget to book the spectacular breakfast as it part of the experience. Enjoy the view over peaceful and charming Caldas de Monchique while having a cup of coffee. Katinka is a perfect host, a charismatic person full of stories and positive vibe! I´m very glad for my experience. I wish to have stayed more time. Hopefully next time!

We had a wonderful stay in Katinka's magical place. It's located in a little valley close to Monchique. The bed was great and Katinka gave us lots of tips on what to do and where to eat. The chateau and it's rooms and balconies were very stylish. Would definitely recommend!

Monchique is nice to stay but it is more perfect if you sleep at Bela Adormecida, The Sleeping Beauty...!! A nice Gin and Tonic with Katinka, the sleeping beauty, and a wonderful Breakfast... amazing! 👍

The thermal waters of Monchique attract visitors and this thoughtfully restored century old house makes a perfect base. The kind Belgium owner even lent me a bathing suit.
Silves, a medieval castle town, is a close by to explore. It attracts lots of storks who nest on the rooftops.
Drinking Monchique spring water, alkaline 9.5, is healthy and is free at the source, besides being available as a bottled product in the region.
Breakfast is terrific, from fresh fruit salad and Greek yogurt, and granola, to eggs, local cheeses and whole grain bread.
Wonderful experience overall!

Katinka's place is out of the ordinary, and so is Katinka herself. Stay here if you want great experience that you will stand out in you holiday memories.

Beautiful and idyllic setting for a fantastic holiday in the lovely principle of Caldes de Monchique. Nested in the valley is the wonderful pink place which is a truly iconic feature of the Caldes. The rooms have been restored to a very high specification by the always lovely hostess Katina. She made us very welcome and the rooms are just exquisite to stay in. The super breakfast were just a true delight to admire and her local knowledge of the area and things happening around was 2nd to none. I would highly recommend to stay here as you will just be “Blown away” by the whole experience. Thanks once again for looking after me and making my holiday trip such an enjoyable time.

Excellent place to stay at the Monchique! Very recommandabele nice host and beautifully furnised. Close to the local spring surrounded by eucalyptus and other aromatic plants and also nearby the spa where you can enjoy the springwater and overview of the valley. The accommodation itself also has a balcony overlooking the Monchique

I loved the Katinka house from the first step. This is a sweet home that she restored. She tried to keep and breathe new life into the old house. Everything is done with great taste and love. nice colours, beautiful pictures and things with history. We lived in a princess room - a spacious bright room with large windows overlooking Monchique. A small cozy balcony, with a table and two chairs. Very comfortable bed, pillows of varying hardness, beautiful linens. Very clean, fresh air, quiet, heard only the birds sing. The bathroom is no less beautiful, every detail is thought out and well chosen. In the morning we were waited by a wonderful, rich and very tasty breakfast and coffee from Monchique spring water. Katinka cooks what you love.
