We stayed in the Wild Oasis over the weekend as a birthday treat and the wild oasis did not disappoint! We had such a wonderful few days, the natural mineral pool and sauna were amazing, so relaxing and with a fantastic view over the Serra. On our first night we ordered dinner and the food was delicious. A very healthy vegetable coconut curry with homemade naan bread. All members of staff were friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend staying at the wild oasis for a peaceful break.

It’s definitely a little paradise in the mountains. After an adventurous drive up hill you will find yourself in a wonderful spot. It’s super pretty with an eye for the details. The rooms are lovely, cozy and authentic. The service was extraordinary, friendly and helpful.
All in all it was great stay and we‘ll definitely come back. If you get the chance, you have to try the self-baked muffins - delicious!
Thank you Kate!

The place is full of beauty and magic.
We enjoyed our being - in peace and quite.
Our space was tidy and beautifully design.
And above all - The hosts were full of heart and sweetness.

We booked a nights stay in this wonderful bohemian chic little gem of a place hidden in the Monchique mountains with thew most amazing views. All the staff and the owner are really lovely, kind, helpful and friendly and all go that extra mile to make your stay so good. The weather was not the best, however that did not deter a fabulous stay. The huge comfortable bed, a massive bath, fabulous breakfast in the warm beautiful barn, drinks in the barn, the wood burning stove keeping one lovely and toasty warm, the fantastic views, plunge pool, sauna, every thing you could possibly need and more. An oil fired radiator took the damp chill of the room as the heavens opened and the rain lashed down. A few glasses of cider for husband and a large glass of vino for me in the barn chatting away took away the blues of a damp squid evening. We went out for dinner at a lovely resturant close by - the jardim das Oliverias and a taxi took us both ways with a lovely chappie who spoke excellemt English and he showed us the views as the weather improved and gave us the names of the mountains and really showed us the love he had of the area as did all. We saw the most awesome rainbow in the morning when the sun shone thru and the clouds cleared providing a vista of the area and location which is truly beautiful. A thoroughly wonderful visit to a wonderful little jem of a place to stay. thoroughly recommend, thank you one and all xxxx

Where to start! We’ve just come back from an amazing experience at Far Out Oasis in Monchique. My partner and I had booked 4 nights to get away from it all.. have a bit of a detox … and boy did we!

Oasis is located in the town of Monchique, on top of a hill. Monchique is a small town but has the basics and a few very good restaurants (Luar da Foia being one of them – but go hungry, the plates are massive!). It is conveniently situated 45 mins from the beautiful West coast (where you will find the most beautiful wild beaches – complete opposite to the Southern coast) and 35 minutes from the Southern coast of Algarve – Portimao, Carvoiero etc. The area around the house is also great for walking with lovely views – if you can, take a hike up to the top of Picota – great walk and views, amongst eucalyptus trees, and then relax in the log sauna at Oasis. 

The house and its grounds are beautiful – a library / living area with a small bar where you can have a drink in the evening, watching the sunset over the mountains, or play a game of backgammon! There is a small natural mineral pool which, whilst cold, is sparkling clean and great after a day of walking (and after trying out the sauna!). There are a couple of sun loungers too to take advantage of the sun. The grounds are surrounded by fruit trees – mandarins, lemons and figs .. the most moist juicy figs ever!

There are 3 rooms – all different so we were told – really tastefully decorated in a rustic style and each with an outdoor table and chairs to have breakfast and meals. The bed is one of the most comfortable we have ever stayed in – just perfect for a relaxing escape. And the bathtub (which is absolutely huge) was a great addition (remember to bring some bath bombs or salts to make the most of it.

Every morning we were given a gorgeous breakfast, made up of fresh fruit salad (those figs again!), cheese, yoghurt, bread and eggs. Sitting outside, having a breakfast made from local produce, enjoying the sights ands sounds of the mountain –it really is the most perfect way to start the day and just added to the healthy vibe of the whole place.

But the best thing about Oasis – the hosts! Lu, Piers, Asha – they are a credit to the place – nothing is too much to ask – they have great recommendations for places to go, where to eat etc. And, I was a little poorly at the start of our stay but Lu gave me some Ayurveda remedies and herbal teas and I bounced back in no time. We had some lovely conversations throughout our stay and they really made us feel so welcome – the place wouldn’t be the same without them! Piers is also a massage specialist, and whilst we didn’t have time to get some treatments in, it’s definitely on our to-do list for next time!

All in all, and I know I am gushing, it really was a relaxing and detoxing experience – one which we wholeheartedly recommend and will definitely be repeating again. If you are visiting the Algarve and want to “get away from it” for a few days, I can’t think of anywhere else where you will better spend time!

Thank you Asha, Lu & Piers for a lovely experience and keep on doing what you are doing!

We had a wonderful and so peaceful time here. The place and the view really look like on the pictures. The rooms are lovely decorated, everything else is just so cozy and comfortable. The breakfast is very good and each element of it is of very high quality. Fruits were very fresh and tasty, yogurt and milk were delicious, and the honey was heaven. On the top of that, the view you get just out of you room, while you take breakfast, is magnificent. The staff is wonderful and tended to any of our needs and questions quickly and easily. They were very helpful guiding us through the hiking trails.
Our neighbors did tell us that their meals were very good so we regret we did not have a chance to have dinner with them, as their kitchen was closed one of the nights we spent there. I wish to come back for a next time in the area, and finally have the chance to try their dinner.

We stayed at the Oasis for 2 nights with our two dogs and absolutely loved it. It is a true oasis, in the middle of the forest, surrounded by only nature. The view from the terrace is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Even though the fires passed close to the land, the Oasis is still an amazing place and so much worth a visit. The breakfast was delicious and you can feel that every little detail in this place is made with love. Also our dogs were super welcome and it felt like home!! The bed was soooo comfortable, and we slept really good in the silence! Thanks so much Kate and Sarah, we will be back soon!

Great spot, Great hosts, delicious breakfasts. Loved our brief stay. Sauna and plunge pool extra nice touch. Beautiful rooms with an excellent view. Very friendly atmosphere. Monchique is worth a visit in and of itself but still not really that far away from either coast for some beach time as well. The staff as above make this already wonderful place even better.

We stayed in the caravan at the oasis which was very clean and comfortable. The only negative being there is no flush toilet, just a composting toilet, not the most pleasant to use. That apart it is in a beautiful location overlooking the valley, a perfect place to eat an evening meal and relax. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. We ate there and had a very nice vegetarian meal, nicely prepared, a little on the expensive side though I thought. We were only there for one night so I can not comment more on the local area or the hiking which was available. We did avail ourselves of the Sauna which was very very good.
