Just spent the most amazing week at Quirky Camping. Cosy yurt with an excellent eco kitchen and shower, beautiful views, two pools to choose from and Wendy and Matt couldn't have been better hosts. The local area is great for cycling, with castles, churches and countryside to explore. Highly recommend a visit!

We stayed at Chez Dev for 6 nights on a yoga retreat. Blissful! Beautiful scenery, fantastic yurts, pools perfect for cooling off, delicious food and top service from Wendy and Matt.
The spot is so peaceful, immersed in wildlife. It's difficult to leave!

Absolutely love this place. 2nd time I've been in 4 years. The owners Matt & Wendy are great, so friendly and helpful. The yurts are excellent, and whole experience is liberating. This is ideal for the seasoned camper or novice. Plenty to do in the surrounding region too if you have a car.

My partner and I recently made a visit to Le Grand Abri, Chez Devalon and we had a holiday to remember, all for positive reasons. We travelled by ferry to St Malo and then continued our journey to Chez Devalon via car...the journey through the beautiful French countryside got us off to a great start. We then arrived at Chez Devalon, but at least two hours before the check in time as we had no idea how long it would take....although we were early we were greeted by Matt, who got us both a drink and let us relax in the glorious sunshine. Although we had already seen pictures of the yurts, we were not ready for what we were about to be presented with. Not only are the yurts beautifully made but they are located in fantastic surroundings, with extending views. Our kitchen, was so well equiped we could have had a party of people, without needing anything else. The bed was more than comfortable and everything was immacuatly clean. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting outside looking up to the stars, and on one night we saw 3 shooting stars, due to the lack of light polution. In the day there are many wonderful places to visit, with quaint french towns, to pituresque rivers. We enjoyed local wine (a little to much) eggs supplied to us by Matt and Wendy and fresh tomatos off the vine, growing by our kitchen. I can not rate this holiday enough and would highly reccomend it. Even for those who are not so keen on a camping experience I would find it hard to believe they would not enjoy it. Wendy and Matt the owners, made us feel so welcome and we have already been looking at the possiblity of another visit next year.

Wow, seriously the view from La Cabushe yurt was priceless. We were surrounded by the fabulous French countryside with a sunflower field right in front of us. You could see and here all the wild birds around you and feel one with nature. The yurt was beautiful with twinkly fairy lights and candles to add to the relaxing and romantic atmosphere. We had an outdoor open kitchen and seating area which was fun, and brilliant for winding down at the end of the day with a bottle of wine or two. There is so much to do around the area, wether you are active or just want to wounded around the pretty villages surrounding Chez Devalon. Wendy, matt and the kids are very helpful and so welcoming, we can't wait to return soon.

We had an outstanding stay at Chez Devalon in the La Cabushe yurt. The yurt itself was stunning and comfortable (this was our first time staying in one!), with an amazingly well equipped kitchen, BBQ and terrace overlooking the stunning rolling countryside. The area and local villages are absolutely beautiful and well worth visiting, but you will be absolutely content with just relaxing in and around your yurt and the farm. Wendy and Matt were perfect hosts, leaving us wine and cake on our arrival, inviting us to borrow bikes and, best of all, teaching us to pole lathe! Matt is an incredibly kind and patient teacher, and told us all about his amazing past and the wonderful things they do at Chez Devalon while we botched together (a good thing, we learned) our wonky toadstool on the pole lathe. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable two nights that we really didn't want to leave, and are already planning when we are going to go back.

My husband and I stayed at Quirky Camping in September 2018 for three nights. We had a wonderful stay in our yurt. The view from our kitchen / decking area so so beautiful and it was so peaceful there. They also had a pool which was excellent as it was so hot! And a help-yourself vegetable garden which we loved. Our hosts were also very welcoming and helpful with everything. Would highly recommend. The only problem is you won't want to leave!

We stayed in the woods in Bodgers, It was so peaceful. The little hobbit kitchen was beautiful the whole thing built by craftspeople. I loved sitting on Tims deck. I loved this part of our holiday after a busy and hectic summer it was just what we needed. Well recommended. Our hosts were really friendly and we enjoyed the produce from their garden and the delish cake that Wendy made for us.

We stayed in the woodland yurt. The laid back but thoughtful environment, with lots of nice touches to enhance the experience, was right up our street. Lovely hospitality, great spots nearby, and gorgeous hand-built wooden tools, equipment, surfaces and of course the yurts themselves. Lot of love in the place. We hope to return

Through a local friend a group of us took over Quirky Camping for a reunion and had a fantastic week. I stayed in a yurt and it was an amazing experience. The views were to die for, it was just so peaceful and comfortable, the birds kept me entertained and the night skies were clear. Wendy and Matt were fantastic hosts, we were also lucky enough to sample Wendy's food - I need the recipe for the courgette and mint soup! Thank you so much, and I'll be back!

It was a great week which we all enjoyed too - so glad you enjoyed staying here and appreciated the nature (and food!) - I will try to write up the recipe when I get a moment but I don't think there is one I can send over at the moment, its just in my head! Kind regards, Wendy
