Geert and Henri have created such a lovely and luxurious space in their home. They really make an effort to personalize the experience for you and always have time for a quirky chat. Their home is a treasure chest of unique items found in antique stores in Bruges, mixed in with some hyper modern objects. If you stay here, you will always be surprised, have a good conversation and get a fair amount of luxury for pampering. And Bruges is always a good idea!
Maison Amodio is a historic building that has been renovated with respect for the heritage and has been tastefully and artfully furnished to contemporary needs. It is well located within walking distance of the Bruges 'highlights' but also close to ‘off the beaten track Bruges’. You will be warmly welcomed, almost like a friend who comes to visit. The hosts provide tips for restaurants, places to visit etc. The extensive library has a collection of (art) books, which you can consult if you want more (background) information on artworks or places you visited, or just spend some quality time. Pick the spot you prefer : in the large living room, at the table next to the open kitchen, in the comfortable armchairs by the fireplace or at the large table in the conservatory. On the ground floor there is a guest room for those who prefer not to climb the stairs. We slept in the Knokke room, with a beautiful view from the skylights to the towers of Bruges and (on the other side) one of the mills. It is a spacious room under the roof with an equally spacious bathroom (blissful rain shower). Big towels, soft dressing gown, white bed linen, everything is squeaky clean. In the morning, a tasty and extensive breakfast is waiting for you (freshly squeezed fruit juice, egg of your choice, etc. and as a surprise French toast). Weather permitting, you can have breakfast in the small but pleasant garden. Or you can unwind there after a day of exploring. Henri and Geert are wonderful hosts, with a nice sense of the balance between the privacy of the guests on the one hand and cozy chats on the other.…
In one word: fabulous. One of the best places to stay in Bruges! This was our 6th time in Bruges, and Geert and Henri we’re the most welcoming and caring hosts we have ever stayed with. They make you feel as if you walked into your own home. The property is absolutely immaculate and stunning, in a perfect location. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms stylish and comfortable. Geert and Henri even surprised us with a special breakfast for my birthday! It was perfect. This won’t be our last visit to Maison Amodio. Thank you Geert and Henri for the incredible trip - highly recommended!
I feel like living in a palace or something. Fell in love with the house and filled with warm hospitality by Geert and Henri. Geert map us with Bruges walking route so to ease our journey be had we only have 1 night stay and I should have stay longer. The house is so beautiful, the bed is superb comfortable with great view on the loft and the breakfast is awesome. I had the most wonderful Christmas experience in Bruges and thanks to both of them making our stay such remarkable.
We cannot rate this B and B highly enough... where do I start.... Geert and Henri have created a very beautiful, calm and welcoming space where guests can relax to classical music and enjoy coffee and a warm fire when not out sightseeing. The property is in a really quiet road only about 10 minutes walk to the hubbub of central Brugge.. here’s a list of some of the many reasons we had a great stay. Tastefully decorated, really comfy large bed and luxury bedlinen, large spacious bedroom, the breakfast was really high quality in terms of what was on offer and in ingredients...they offered a hospitable welcome and felt that we could ask them to offer advice and help on our stay if needed. We used their parking space which was super convenient and very secure.
