Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This small hotel is ideally situated in the historic centre of this old town. Very comfortable and friendly and great value. Don`t expect big luxury hotel facilities but it far exceeds the standards of of budget chains, more like a large bed and breakfast.

I had to stay overnight in Hoorn during one of my many visits to The Netherlands. This hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the train station which was ideal for me. I had a call from the hotel on the day before i travelled to check my expected arrival time, and even though i arrived an hour earlier than i said the welcome the hotel was great. I was told where the best places to eat were within the town. Breakfast was made for me over an hour before the normal times as i was being picked up.
Hoorn is very quiet on a Monday night, most of the restaurants and bars are closed.
The only criticism of the hotel is there is no coffee/tea in the room, but it wasn't a massive problem. The free wi-fi was stable and worked well.

This hotel is located in the centre of this beautiful small town approx 30 min North of Amsterdam. The room had a great shower, clean and home made breakfast is served in a seperate dining room. Its about 1 km from train station. The hotel is quiet and unlike the major cities had larger than normal rooms. There is a little pub next door for you to relax and watch the world go by. The rooms are upstairs so one has to be

We booked this because a stay elsewhere had been cancelled. We paid a couple of pounds more for a deluxe room (no 1). We were pleased with the room. The en - suite has some glass in the door to the bedroom which is a little off putting but not something I'd dwell on. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast was very filling. Typical continental style but lots of it! Location is great. Little gem that I would certainly book again!

After we found it we enjoyed our stay. We weren't to excited about the very steep narrow shallow step stairwell but the rooms were large, clean and airy. Don't come in hot weather, because there is no A/C and if you leave the windows open, there is too much street noise to sleep. Fortunately for us the temperature dropped enough before going to bed we didn't need the windows open. The owners treated us very nice and provided us with a huge breakfast of tea, orange. Juice, yogurt, boiled eggs, banquettes, and more bread than we could have eaten in two or three meals.

Right in Hoorn. Lovely newly decorated room with a nice, comfortable big bed. Set in the town with great access to public transport and shopping. Thanks to Willem for the history lesson on the Netherlands - very welcome. Nice and clean walk in shower room. Pleanty of hot water and a nice power shower which was very welcome for two sore cyclists. Plenty of coffee to drink and the ability to use the kitchen for extra drinks if required. Access to a very pretty patio area which was very peaceful and calm. Lovely breakfast with absolutely plenty to eat. Thanks for the recommendation of where to eat - absolutely gorgeous food - de Paerdestal.
Would definitely stay here again.

The hospitality of the hosts made us feel really comfortable. For three days we had a "home" in the Netherlands. From there, we took two day trips by train, one to Amsterdam and one to Harlaam. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the train station. Although we could not park our car right outside the hotel, we could drop our suitcases off at the door and park our car in a public parking lot close by for only 2 euro ten cents per day, which seemed to be a very good rate for parking in a city centre in Holland. Hoorn is a smaller city, so it was not as crowded, and it was interesting to look around.
One suggestion for improvement in the suite would be to change the bathroom door, which had large glass panels in it.

During the week I tend to work hard when I am at a client. That means some compensating in the evening, relaxing in my room watching a nice movie. But at the end of june and the beginning of july the thermometer goes way up. And this room felt like a microwave. Even with the window wide open and only boxershorts and a flimsy shirt, it still felt like the surface of the sun. That really ruined my first impression of this bed and breakfast. And there are good things, cause the location leaves nothing to be desired, it's right down in the centre of Hoorn. It's not too expensive since it is only a bed and breakfast and the rooms have just been redecorated and they look good. The beds weren't very great, they had wheels and drove around the room and I tumbled down on the floor since my matress fell off in 2 of my 3 nights.

Still, the charming thing about bed and breakfasts is that they are run by individuals who put their heart and soul in it, and I liked the owners. Their thanks was to forget to open up for breakfast on my 3rd and final morning, so I left hungry, which is a shame. I can not promise this bed and breakfast that I will return here next time. I hope other guests have better experiences

Large room with comfortable double bed, bathroom was good with a large shower area. Whole room was in an enjoyable style.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of bread, fruit, meat and cheese - an excellent continental breakfast.
