From the hotel you can easily visit the beaches of Zandvoort and Bloemendaal and the cities of Amsterdam or The Hague. The hotel is located not far from the airport Schiphol. We would like to welcome all business guests in one of our 14 meetingrooms, ranging from 13 to 900 m². All our two persons rooms are equiped with a twin bed. Only the Suites have double beds.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel itself is modern, well equipped, clean and very very comfortable. The buffet style breakfast has an excellent selection of tasty food. When we visited for 3 nights, the bar service was very slow (30 mins) for a drink and the hotel needs to either provide more staff or better training. Also beware we visited with friends and they booked 3 days before we did and paid €100 less than we did, so be aware of their pricing policy.

We have just returned from a three night stay and primarily chose this hotel for the convenience of parking. The hotel is attractive and grand on entry. We chose a comfort plus room and the room was very spacious. However, we found that our coffee machine was not working correctly and informed the desk in the morning and we were promised this would be changed. We went out for the day, arrived back in the late evening to find the same machine there plus our room had not even been cleaned! I phoned reception and a very pleasant girl arrived with a new machine, as did two other colleagues when this machine was hard to fix up. We told them that we had paid £400 for three nights and were not impressed with the service. One girl apologised and another colleague brought us some paper coffee cups and coffee up, but that was it. We also mentioned this when checking out, to be told that they would mention it to the cleaning staff, which was of no benefit to us. The room was clean to look at but under the bed was disgusting, with a couple of food items and paper amongst the dust and fluff.
A shame we had this experience as the location is great, you can walk to Haarlem in around 30 minutes (follow the river) or catch a 300 bus which costs 2.50 Euros each.

+1
It was a very nice stay at the Valk Hotel Haarlem.
We had already had very good experiences with this hotel, so of course we booked a Valk Hotel again for our short trip.
Haarlem is very well located, you can get to Gouda, Delft, The Hague, Zandvoort and also Amsterdam in no time.
The hotel has two large parking spaces, which are available free of charge. The parking spaces are directly in front of the entrance.
We only know the comfort plus room, which is spacious, has a shower, bathtub and balcony. The room was clean, pre-warmed and welcoming. The shower water, unlike our previous stay in a FlatCap Hotel - England, was pure luxury. Hot and pressurised stream.
The staff are all very nice and helpful.
We ate at the Martinus Restaurant on two days. The food was great, the fillet of beef always perfectly on point and the best creme brulee we have ever had.
The young staff were terrific, mega attentive and totally likeable, we felt very comfortable.
On one evening we opted for room service, which we could order and pay for conveniently by mobile phone in the Martinus Restaurant. You could order a la card from the normal restaurant menu and it was there promptly.
Thank you for the absolutely recommendable stay and the mega 3-course dinners as well as the very rich breakfast.
For our next stay we would like to have a higher floor with a balcony. This time we were again unfortunately on the ground floor.

In Haarlem the hotels are expensive, probably because the close vicinity of Schiphol and the popularity of the city itself.
the VanderValk is no exception, but at least still reasonably priced.
Rooms are new and spacious, nice decorated and the breakfast is awesome, because
- large space to enjoy it
- enormous choice of food, including fresh egg station, fresh juice station, bread station etc
a small downside, by foot to the city center is +/- 25 minutes. Yet you see interesting parts of the city on the way..

Room was spacious. Loved the bathtub. Can fit 2 people.
The interior design of the cafe and bar is pleasing to look at too.
Most of all, I was impressed by the receptionist, Ms Mathilde, if you are reading this, thanks for your assistance and advice.
I was somewhat lost and had to catch an early flight.
She advised on which bus to take and even made a note to have the kitchen prepare a small take-out box for my breakfast since I had to check-out from the hotel on a Sunday at 06:30am.
Note that breakfast on weekends here is starting at 07:00am onwards. Weekdays, 06:00am start.

Our second time staying at this amazing hotel. We had 6 rooms as we were there for an extended family reunion and the booking and arrival process were both smooth, with everything clearly communicated. The reception and restaurant/bar have been recently upgraded and they have made it look amazing. The location is very close to Haarlem centre, a short bus ride or lovely walk along the canal. Our room and bathroom were so spacious, beds comfortable and everything very clean every day. Quiet at night even though located on a busy road. The breakfast is extensive and staff friendly.

A very modern, renovated hotel. The room we had on the 6th floor for 3 days was a bit bigger than the one on the 2nd floor yet they were the same price. The bedding is extremely comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet. The restaurant is adequate in terms of the quality of food but the service is by very unexperienced servers, so be prepared for a slow service. Still, a great place to stay.

Very nice hotel with big rooms. Very clean, and the rooms on the 3rd floor are the most convenient so you don’t need to queue for elevator. If you drive there is a car park, if you don’t then you can easily take bus 300 from the Schipol airport. Other buses easily take you to the Haarlem city centre, or back to Amsterdam.
The only two things are:
1. Toilet and bath are separate but there is no towel trail in the toilet.
2. The restaurant has nice food but they are extremely slow. Having dinner alone took me almost 2 hours.

We don't normally choose to stay in large modern hotels (other than occasional night before flight) but couldn't find a suitable Airbnb. However this was a very pleasant experience - comfortable, tastefully decorated room with a large terrace area outside. Very nicely decorated and furnished reception and common areas. Restaurant food was very good - but very large portions! Staff very friendly and helpful. Large hotel car park. A bus for the town centre/railway station stops on the road outside the hotel about every 10 minutes but it's also an easy walk into town. Would stay again!

Due to weather conditions was unable to fly home so airline put us in this hotel overnight. Very friendly staff and beautiful room. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom products but could do with china cups in rooms rather than paper, this was my only negative.
Airline provided us with evening meal which was self serve but plenty of choice and very tasty, and a breakfast which was amazing. Loads to choose from and cater for everyone. Bacon and sausage were great plus lovely pancakes and pastry’s, but lots of healthier options as well.
So in view of not being able to get home, this hotel was a great bonus and a lovely stay.

To Amsterdam city center: take buss 300 from the hotel to the central station of Harlem. Then take a train. They are very frequent and in 15 minutes you are in Amsterdam.
Dear Andy,
Thank you for your question. You can best take bus 300 from the Airport to the hotel, it runs every 7 minutes during daytime and stops right in front of the hotel. You can also take this bus to get to Haarlem Center, it only has a few stops so it would be the best way to get there.
Please let me know if you would have any further questions. I hope to see you soon at Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem!
Best regards,
Danielle
There is a shopping mall 1 bus stop or 10 min by foot from the hotel
There is no shuttle to the airport. There is a public bus that stops very near the hotel and goes to the airport. The bus is the #300. According to Google Maps, the first one on Mondays is about 5am. Another bus, N30, seems to run through the night.
Dear Linda,
If you arrive at Schiphol Airport, you can take bus 300 to Haarlem, the busstop is right in front of the hotel. That bus has a car-free buslane so no delay. Hope to see you soon.
Best regards,
Danielle de Jong
