Really nice, well located hotel, nice friendly staff, clean rooms, couldn't fault it to be honest. The property overlooks a canal and is a very short walk from the centre of town, bars, restaurants etc. Haarlem is a great place to visit, everyone is very pleasant and the restaurants are fabulous...

The Niu Dairy is a delightful boutique hotel that is within walking distance to everything in Haarlem. It has modern rooms, tasteful decor, and a great breakfast spread. All in all, definitely worth staying at.

Location: It is located just outside the old center area of town and within walking distance to the train station, though if you have much luggage, I'd suggest taking the bus which leaves from the station and drops you off right near the hotel. Getting to the old town takes no time at all as you are just across the canal from it.

Room: A bright room with a great view on the canal and the town. There are quirky finishes throughout reminding you of the dairy theme. There was even a nice bean bag in the corner. The climate control was also nice to have, though at the time that I visited, it was pretty mild out so I didn't need it very much.

Bathroom: The bathroom was compact, but manageable. The hotel has opted to be eco-friendly and uses multi-use dispensers for certain products like shampoo and body wash, which I appreciated.

Lobby: Warm and welcoming. I was even offered to get a plant to bring to my room for EUR 1 which was then donated to charity. I thought this was a nice touch and made my room a little homier while helping a charity.

Breakfast: A great spread of products including meats, cheeses, breads, eggs.

very modern hotel with warm welcoming staff, who get the job done efficiently and no question is too much to ask. If they can help they will. The room was clean, airy and a great heating system i could adapt to the cold weather. The hotel is across the road from the small streets and shops 2 mins which lead to the centre square. You can turn right out of the hotel to walk to the windmill via the shops and canals 20 mins or left to the park and back end of the train station 20 mins. Breakfast is ample and has something for everyone, hot/cold/meat/cheese/pastries/cereal etc.
There isn't a kettle in the room but you can buy a drink from the bar 24 hours a day and take it up with you, it is not over priced . You can leave your luggage securely until your flight time and sit in the cafe area at the front with a dink and not feel in the way. Check out is 12 so plenty of time to re-pack. If you don't want your room cleaned you get a voucher for a free drink from the bar, good for us as were there over new year and weren't in the room too much, but we still had bins emptied and towels replaced if needed. There is a lovely pub across the road very friendly and so many beers to choose from.
thank you for a lovely stay

I loved this hotel. My room was spacious and incredibly quiet: in fact I got the best night's sleep staying here that I'd had in ages! WiFi is really good, with a strong signal and the room had good deskspace, a comfortable chair, plenty of storage space and a good, stylish modern bathroom. Breakfast was a buffet with a good choice of pastries, bread, yogurts, fruits etc + coffee, tea and juices. The reception is 24 hours and the staff are efficient and friendly and all speak fluent English. The hotel is a short walk from the Grotemarkt etc and is also close to Haarlem station. I would definitely stay here again!

We would stay here again in a hot minute!

Pros:
Friendly staff
Very clean!
Comfortable beds
Functional storage area
Great Location
Spacious room
Great public space
A grocery store and bars nearby
Quirky, cute decorations and fixtures

Cons:
Seating is a chair and a bean bag. The bean bag isn't comfortable and it is hard to get out of if you are a senior. The room was large enough to hold another chair - even another chair and desk. We would flip a coin every day to see who got the ONE chair. (I am sure they would have brought us another chair if we asked.)

We LOVED the narrow, long 'shelf' that ran under the TV. It was perfect for holding the remote and other small things that could easily get misplaced in a hotel room.

We were in room #204 which looked out onto a parking area and some apartments. It was very quiet.

There were 7 ladies stayed here for 3days. We were on a 50th Birthday trip. Could not fault the Hotel. Rooms were nice and overlooked the Canal. Very close to shops, bars & Restaurants, just over the bridge. We got a local bus No 300 from outside Schiphol Airport which cost €6.50 to centre of Haarlem which had to be paid by card. We got a taxi back to the Airport for the 7 of us that cost €45. The staff at Hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, had everything which cost €11, well worth it. Would definitely recommend this Hotel and hope to return one day.

When I booked this was one of the cheaper hotel options available in Haarlem and it was a very enjoyable stay. The rooms are nice. We opted for the larger size room. We didn't have breakfast as we chose to have a late brunch in the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room but they have a coffee pod machine and non-English tea bags so if this isn't your thing then bring your own tea and coffee.
It's about 10 minutes walk to the centre area of Haarlem so was in a decent location and it is reasonably close to the station - short bus ride.
All in all we had an enjoyable stay at this hotel so I would recommend it.

Absolute perfection!!!

What a beautiful and unique place this is. My room was absolutely immaculately clean and so incredibly comfortable. I loved the bed linen. High quality and felt great to sleep on.

The hotel is full of individual little quirks that give it amazing style and character. The rooms have bean bags to sit on and beautiful bright bathrooms with nice hot showers. Climate control is free and works brilliantly.

Wonderful colour scheme throughout.

I particularly liked that the staff allowed me to have coffee for free in the morning, I’m not a breakfast person but I like coffee when I wake up. To add to that, the staff here are an absolute delight. Nothing is too much trouble. I was made to feel valued and welcome at all times.

Nice quick (and free) Wi-Fi and a super selection of TV channels on the lovely big flat screen TV. Also a sound dock for music that connects with Wi-Fi. Ample supply of fluffy towels and soap and shower gel included.

Only ten mins walk from Haarlem railways station where the trains run very regularly on the 15 minute journey to Amsterdam Centraal.

Absolutely excellent value for money and I cannot recommend enough. I was sad to leave and this will be my hotel of choice when I next visit The Netherlands!!

Amazing!!!!

Horrible housekeeping. The first night we discovered stains on the blanket and reception's solution was to change room because housekeeping has gone home. We just went to the new room and switched out the blanket ourselves instead because we didn't want to pack up and move! Not very good problem solving by reception. The third night, housekeeping never removed the used towel on the shower floor and only have us 1 new bath towel. They also never emptied the garbage in the bathroom during our 3 night stay.

Excellent location just outside the main canals circling Haarlem Central. Only a few hundred meters to the 300 airport bust stop and About a 15 minute to the train station and to a grotto Market Square. Quiet, clean and modern with attentive and helpful staff. As it is in Haarlem you have easy access to train connections through5 the country without staying in Amsterdam to be completely overwhelmed by other tourists and the associated problems. The breakfast, as with most Dutch hotels was generous and varied, well worth the additional cost.

1) Yes there are lifts. 2) I think they have both rooms with baths and some with shared baths. We had a room with a bathroom 3) The rooms are pretty generously sized for a European hotel, so space for luggage is no problem.
