We are a family of 4, two kids, (one 11 months old). There are few proms and cons:
When we arrived we found two large double beds, I asked for a travel cot for the baby which they promptly provided. However there was not mattress and it was very low and uncomfortable, I ended up asking for an extra blanket and removing another one from the spare bed to fold and act as mattress however it was still quite uncomfortable and my baby ended up crying a lot at night as he was sinking down and he couldn’t sleep next to us either as the double bed was two single bed next to each other so a gap was forming in between! The bathroom smelled of drainage a bit and a bit cold as lack of heating in the bathroom but beautiful big shower and sink. Overall it was a good sized room and luckily on the ground floor. There was a free coffee machine in the reception area which was very handy! And fruit!
Location wise for adults it’s perfect as about 10 min walk from Central station however with a young kid sometimes it felt so long, but close to the NEMO museum which I highly recommend if you go with kids. First night was freezing as I never realised we had to switch the radiators ourselves! I was still a bit cold a times in the following evenings even with the radiators on and when I asked an extra blanket at the receptionist (since I had to use them for the baby cot) he replied “put the heating on” which I didn’t find very helpful and also quite patronising! Overall it was ok and I would return if it was only adults but if I was going to return with kids I’d probably book closer to Dam square as not many shops nearby the hotel.

Stayed for 6 nights in June in a room at front of hotel. The best bits were the shower room and the size of the bed were excellent and the overall cleanliness fantastic. View was also pretty good. The room had a british electrical socket which was very handy as we forgot ours! The room was small but we managed to keep the room fairly organised and the small fridge helped cool the water. While the fan helped the room was very warm, with temperatures outside at 30degrees, this often made the room too warm while not sleeping. Location was very handy for the city and we were able to walk to most places in the city area, Jordaan to the museum district out to oosterpark. The free coffee in reception was also really nice. Folks on reception were helpful whenever we enquired. Would stay here again and recommend, but maybe not when hot.

I think the hotel deserves 3 1/2 stars.

We stayed as a couple with friends.
The hotel is in a good location, 5 minutes from the station and less than 10mins walk to Dam square.
The rooms are clean and a bearable size. The shower is outstanding.
We were near the front of the hotel, the room was quiet but when the enormous front door was opened it would bang shut reverberate through the room, which was annoying, the beds are very large and comfortable although the pillows are a bit too large, I like a flat type pillow.
The staff were helpful but also very dour.

My wife and I have just spent 4 nights at The hotel Library , we found the most outstanding feature was the staff, every person we met there was extremely nice, friendly and helpful .
The location is perfect for accessing all the tourist spots, all within walking distance, there is easy access to bus and tram lines for the more distant spots.
The room was comfortable clean and warm ( maybe too warm in the summer but Was provided with 2 fans ) .
We were on the second floor which is reached by an elevator, if we were on a higher floor it would have been unsuitable for us as we are pensioners and the stairs to higher floors were very steep.
We only had breakfast there on one morning, it was a great spread but we thought it was expensive at €17.50 per head.
Overall we were very happy with our experience there and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a hotel with a great location and most delightful staff.

Stayed here with my partner and parents for 4 nights in January 2020. Great location next to the train station everything is in walking distance but there is a bus stop outside. Reception staff were friendly and we liked the coffee machine, free wifi and free fruit in reception. I had a basement room and it was a good size and very clean. On our second day we arrived to a plate of fruit in our room which we felt was a lovely touch. The bathroom is good just a shower but the shower pressure is very good! There is a kettle and coffee / tea in the room and shower gel in bathroom. Would stay here again.

I booked a triple room for three days. It was equipped with a mini fridge, a boiler and complimentary tea and coffee. It had 3 single beds that were very comfortable (unlike some other hotels where the third bed is a foldable mattress)
Everyone at the reception was very helpful and welcoming!
There is also a free coffee machine in the lobby (the coffee was so good!)
The location is great as well, the street is quiet and close to the station and city center.
Recommended for a cheap yet comfortable stay!

Best hotel I have ever stayed in when travelling. We had room 304 which was very very spacious and looked lovely. The bed was very comfortable and with really nice pillows! The bathroom was large and had the best shower ever. Probably the only hotel I’ve stayed in where the shower doesn’t lead out all on to the bathroom floor so was very happy about this hotels shower. We were given a full size iron for our room as well which is great because normally you are given a mini iron which barely serves its purpose but this was a full size Phillips iron which worked wonders. The hotel is clean, staff are very friendly and it is in a great location a 10 minute walk to museums, the red light district and Amsterdam centraal station.
We had a fantastic stay and will 100% chose hotel library when we return to Amsterdam.

Hotel Library was a great start and end to our trip. The staff is amazing, helpful, and friendly. They have really good customer service - working to meet the needs of their guests; just let them know what you need. When I said something about the bathroom, lightening and shower when we returned we were given a different room. The location is walking distance to the train station, good restaurants, and the sites of Amsterdam. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice buffet that included scramble eggs, sausage, bacon, baked beans, cereals, breads, sliced meats/cheeses and well worth the price. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

We spent two nights here on our first trip to Amsterdam. Well located on the canal and an easy walk from Centraal Station. We had a garden (basement) level room but fortunately, the hotel has a lift. The room was clean but very small. Coffee and tea available in the small lobby and a kettle in the room, but no decaffeinated options available. Breakfast was available for an additional 17 euros, but we chose to pick up breakfast croissants at a local bakery for far less. Staff was very helpful with our luggage and in helping us locate a nearby clinic for covid testing. The rates for two nights seemed high at first glance, but all of Amsterdam is rather expensive. We were comfortable but would not recommend during summer months as there is no air conditioning and only a stand fan in the room.

This is a quaint, cute boutique hotel and lived up to all the reasons I chose it. It’s close to the old town, but in a different area than where we stayed previously. It’s 5 brisk minutes walk to Amsterdam Central Station for easy access to and from Schiphol Airport or any train travel. It was walking distance to the port to meet the Amavenita for our cruise. The rooms are small as in keeping with what’s advertised sqmtrs, the bathroom refurbished, so all clean and tidy. We had a room with a view to the waterfront which was great. Breakfast was the usual cereals, hot eggs etc, cold meats & cheeses and pastries. A lift albeit slow, was good for luggage only a few stairs to climb from the street. Amsterdam is quite expensive so good value for money in my opinion. I would stay again. Coffee & tea available anytime in the reception area with seating and a loft with a view to the waterfront, via a spiral staircase.
