Morgan & Mees is a boutique hotel and restaurant situated in a completely renovated historical building in Amsterdam West. The interior matches the characteristics of the monumental building, but with a modern twist. With an elegant timeless look and an eye for detail Morgan & Mees is a stylised hotel for international travellers and locals. A home away from home. With the wonderful Jordaan area around the corner the hotel is a place where tourists and locals collide. The Jordaan is one of the oldest neighbourhoods of the city, famous for housing the Westerkerk and the Anne Frank House. Today it is without a doubt the single most exciting area of the city. It is full of canals, small streets and classical architecture, and offers countless art galleries, markets, small boutiques and restaurants. It is bursting with ambition, inspiration and beauty.

The hotel was selected, not because of low price, but because it seemed to be highly rated. The place does not have a reception, one of the waiters from the restaurant doubles up for that. There are very narrow stairs and no lift to your room so you have to negotiate that with

Response from Morgan &, Front Office Manager at Morgan & Mees
Responded 6 Feb 2019
Dear guest, We are very sorry that you experienced your stay this way. That's the complete opposite of what we stand for. Indeed, we are a small boutique hotel in a monumental building, which explains the staircases and lack of lift to your room. Our reception is open from 7:30 - 18:00 every day, after 18:00, our manager from the restaurant is trained to help with any hotel issues. Our staff is supposed to take care of bringing your luggage upstairs, if this didn't happen with you, I'm very sorry. We have 3 types of rooms, all in different price ranges and the one more spacious than the other. Our deluxe and especially our suite rooms are usually experienced as very spacious and allow you to stay in a room without split-level, so no stairs in the room. If there is a next time you come and stay with us, please let us know you would like a one-level room. We will be happy to arrange that for you. I hope that you still enjoyed Amsterdam and wish you a very nice day. Best regards, Myrthe Rietkerk

My partner and I have travelled to Amsterdam many, many times and have stayed in a variety of hotels both in the center and further afield. We have just returned from a 5 night stay in Morgan and Mees over New Year and I can confidently say I will never stay anywhere else!

Had a great stay. Staff is very young and vibrant, kind and helpful. Room was small, but they are very transparent about that fact. Also, as the room was lofted, the space could not be used any better. Saves a lot of room. Furnishings and accents are high quality in the rooms.

Really nice venue, as in great bar area, nice restaurant area but slightly crowded and very noisy. Outside area looked welcoming as well. Service was good, food was tasty, so overall nothing to complain about. I would return here.

This review is for the restaurant only. Very beautiful terrace loacted at the side. The Décor style was fresh and trendy with some nice art on the walls. Really nice atmosphere. Food was very good and tasty - particularly the starter of pork roasted ribs I would highly

What is the best of the 3 different suites?
I loved two. One with the terrace and then the big loft like one with the huge bath tub. I love this place.

does the hotel do airport shuttle?
Dear Kara, We don't have airport shuttles, but you can go with public transportation or take a taxi. Both takes about half an hour. Please let me know if you need any further details. Kind regards, Morgan & Mees

Hi! We stayed at an AirBNB location in the neighborhood: #2774448. Highly recommended. The restaurant was busy on a saturday night in May so you should call now to ask about New Years. Hope this is helpful.

"The cafe has outdoor seating and some rooms look directly out on this, so it could get noisy during summer."
"Rooms at the back and to the side are quieter, room 2 was perfect."
"All rooms accessed by a flight of stairs, with two rooms on the second floor. More rooms up another flight of stairs."
"We had two of the nine rooms, and both were excellent. Don't think you can go wrong."
"I rate the restaurant... I was not at the hotel, but it seems it is on the very high side"
