Located between Utrechtsestraat and the bubbly neighborhood "de Pijp" you will find this small gem. Design, boutique and our personal approach will make your stay an experience to remember. The entrance is almost theatrical, with aged mirrors and a beautifully lit staircase, warm materials combine with a rough look. Rainshowers, aircon, 40" TV. Tailormade beds and pillows for ultimate comfort.

Rooms are good and the design of the rooms is lovely; exposed brick and dark colours make it feel cosy and modern.

Nice open shower but opens straight into the room, and the toilet door is just a glass door with reflective glass with no lock. You can see straight into the toilet if the light is on inside. Not perfect for friends travelling together because of this, but not so much a problem for couples.

We were very warm in the room and resorted to having to open the window in the middle of winter, only on the last day did we notice that the radiator had been on full! Our fault for not realising but a good sign that the rooms stay so warm when it’s so cold outside.

Location was also excellent, approx a 30 minute walk along the canals into the main areas with lots of bars and cafes along the way, and a Lidl just over the road for anything else you could need.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back, staff were very friendly. We stayed in room 302 on the second floor.

I was overall very pleased with the hotel. The location is perfect for some
Of the attractions such as the Heineken experience and Hard Rock Cafe, but for things such as dam square and the red light district it’s at least a 20 minute walk. I loved how modern
The room was, the shower and toilet area especially, the only thing that let the room down was the beds, they were two singles pushed together with a thin mattress over the top and the sheets kept sliding off, and that you couldn’t open the windows. The hotel is in a nice area of the city with a Lidl opposite which is great for drinks and snacks. I would stay in this hotel again when visiting. The staff were also lovely and dressed very professionally

I stayed in the hotel in November 2021 with a friend, it was a nice hotel but I would suggest it is a better fit for couples rather than friends sharing.

The room was nice, it was clean and well decorated.
We did request two single beds when booking, but when we checked into the room there was a double bed instead (this wasn’t too much trouble for us, but would have preferred two singles.)

The main reason I say the hotel is for couples rather than friends is because there is no privacy in the room at all, the bathroom is not separate of the hotel room, the bathroom is open and part of the bedroom. So you can see someone in the shower as the shower does not have a door on it.
The toilet does has a door, but it is a glass, slightly see- through door with no lock.

The staff were nice and the location was perfect for us. Not too far out from the centre.

I would stay again, but with my partner rather than a friend this time.

I have made a reservation in this Hotel over the summer hoping that coronavirus would be a thing of the past by the time January came around. Obviously, this has not happened.

Since then, in October, I have been in contact with the reception team of the property explaining how I do not feel safe to travel nor do I think I will be able to. My country is in a level 5 lockdown at the moment.
The customer service has been terrible, they gave me no option to even receive a portion of my money back for my stay. Given the current times you would expect that they would be more understanding. As nobody can predict the serious levels the virus would reach.

They offer no alternative, just continuously stating they will not refund me.

Since then, myself and my partner decided since they outright refuse to refund us with months notice in advance that we cannot let our money go to waste, (both of us being full time college students we have no desire whatsoever to waste money), that we would request to at least change our dates to a later date, even though neither of us at this stage have ANY desire to stay at this place after the service we received.

So I went online and logged into our booking.com account to try and request a date change, for some reason it was showing up the dates but not allowing me to request a date change, working as a hotel receptionist myself I understand this is the process required when changing reservation dates. So I called up the property again, and I was told I could not do this "by myself" and that I must submit a request to change dates, I explained to the girl that I could not do this and she continued to say the same thing so I went back to booking.com to try again. Very unhelpful. Still no luck, I called her again and asked if she could just log into booking.com herself and do this for me as I am aware she can do this as I stated previously I work in a hotel myself. But she refused and said it was not possible for her to do so. Laziness.

I got onto booking.com eventually and a lovely lady is now helping me out.

I am beyond disappointed with the service I received and the lack of understanding given the current circumstances. If I could give a 0 review score I would. Avoid at all costs

When we got to the supposed hotel, we learned that we'd been sent to the wrong address. There is a different hotel where ours was supposed to be. We called the reception who told us that they didn't have our names in the system - I had a confirmation via mail, though.
Apparently booking.com didn't send us an update before. However I had called the hotel a couple of weeks before arrival, and they didn't say anything about a new address...
We were told the reception was at another address but we could stay in the hotel that we arrived at...?! This was denied by the very friendly receptionist at the hotel we arrived at. He explained to us that this had happened before and that PH Hotel was under new management.
We then proceeded to drive to the actual address.
Upon arrival we were offered "better rooms" including breakfast, which we were pleased with. As my parents were still careful and had decided not to come with us due to the pandemic and the Netherlands' approach to handling it, we were also offered that they could reschedule so we wouldn't lose money. This happened after we could talk to the manager, who ensured we'd be able to call her any time, which I thought was rather friendly.

So we got to our rooms, which were quite spacious and very comfortable. Nice shower, comfortable beds.
However, cleanliness wasn't always on point. It was quite dusty, one glass was still dirty and apart from receiving new towels, nothing was really cleaned the next day. The blow drier was broken.

After a day in the centre of Amsterdam, we got back to the hotel and wanted to set a new date for my parents to reschedule. The man at the reception was already overwhelmed because there were three people filing complaints to him. He was phoning the manager and talking to different people at the same time. We waited and when it was our turn, I asked him if he could call the manager for us because I wanted to make sure that everything went according to plan.
He told me that the manager wasn't there, to which I replied that he had just called her?! He offered to give us her mail address, which we refused because we were afraid of another chaotic mess up. So he called her and we spoke to her. The manager ensured that the date had been changed and I would receive a confirmation email. After getting back to the reception once more, I finally got my confirmation.

Breakfast and check out were okay. The staff in the hotel was friendly yet sometimes very overwhelmed at the reception because they had to deal with a few complaints and tried to mediate between customers and management. Hopefully my parents will have a more organised stay there next year.

(paying a deposit is not a usual procedure for a hotel, though...?!)

AVOID.

We booked two nights for this weekend. Our flight was cancelled yesterday due to Storm Eunice. We immediately informed the hotel by phone, email and chat, asking if we could re-book or get a refund, and received no reply. So we phoned the hotel and were told to ring the next day at 10am when the manager returned as they were the only person with the authority to do so. Why not have reception staff who are able to do this?

We emailed and phoned the next morning and were told to call back at 1pm.
After phoning another three times we got through again to the reception desk who told us that the manager was the only person with the authority to change bookings.

The manager then sent us a one line email saying they would not refund the booking and has ignored all requests for communication since.

In this day and age, post-COVID and now the storm, such an approach to bookings and cancellations is totally unacceptable and I will never book here again.

Earning a three-star rating from me. The location is convenient, situated in a quieter area while still within reach of the city's attractions. The staff was generally friendly, although the service lacked some of the personalized touches I've experienced in higher-rated hotels.

The room at Boutique Hotel Oosteinde was comfortable, but the decor felt a bit outdated, and there were minor maintenance issues that could use attention. While it provided a decent place to rest, it didn't quite meet the expectations I have for a boutique hotel.

The hotel's amenities were satisfactory, but there is room for improvement. The breakfast was standard, and although it covered the basics, it didn't stand out as exceptional. I found the overall ambiance to be pleasant but not particularly memorable.

In conclusion, Boutique Hotel Oosteinde is a reasonable choice for those seeking a basic and budget-friendly option in Amsterdam. However, for a more elevated experience, one might consider exploring other boutique options in the city."

Avoid at all costs. Paid a substantial amount to stay here and then couldn't travel on the booked dates so requested a date change. The hotel wanted an extra 150 euros to change the dates and wouldn't let me cancel for a full refund. The hotel then took 80 euros from my card without giving me a reason and without my knowledge or permission. I had to open a chargeback dispute with my bank to get my money back, when I told the hotel about this they immediately refunded the 80 euros they had taken from me as they knew it was wrong. I was extremely polite the whole time I dealt with them but their customer service was extremely poor and I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable staying here. If you read the reviews on google many others have unfortunately had the same experience with this hotel.

The rooms itself was ok. We requested a double bed which was 2 single bed bases pushed together with a thin mattress on top. The bedding was not fitted and was simply a sheet spread over the mattress which easily slid off. The bed sheets were also not changed during our Stay and the room was not cleaned thoroughly either. We also noticed when checking out the door onto the street was not securely locked and the handle was broken meaning it could not be locked. The room also had a strong smell of urine which came usually in the evenings. An item of clothing also went mysteriously missing, the hotel weren’t very helpful with assisting our search as they had “other things to do”.

Overall the stay was ok, but good location and only 5 minute tram journey away from the centre.

I politely asked for a refund as my partner had tested positive for covid (meaning I too am a high-risk exposure to others). They said they do not offer refunds, even for a medical exemption. They would clearly rather put their staff and fellow patrons at risk for covid than give a refund.

If you have bags then get the train from Schipol Airport to Centraal Station - it's about 5 Euros. There are ticket machines all over the station concourse which you enter after leaving arrivals. On arrival at Centraal you can grab a taxi - it'll be about 15-20 euros. However, if you feel brave jump on the number 4 tram (stops at the front of the station - ask) buy a ticket from the conductor who sits in a little booth in the tram (if you are traveklling more on the same day, get a 24 hours pass - about 8 Euro) and get off at Frederiksplein. Check your map - you will only be 100 metres from the Hotel then. Dead easy. If in doubt, ask, everyone speaks english. If there are two or more of you, though, a taxi from schipol to the hotel may be only 20 euros more though but this way you understand a bit more about the geography of the trip - and it's quite a bit faster than a cab. Good luck!
