Stayed twice before but seeing as this was a special occasion I asked my other half for the rooftop balcony room ..( again ). Stylish, spotless room. Very welcoming and efficient staff. The view was stunning from a surprisingly large balcony, 4 times the size of anything typical!Equipped with furniture. Super comfy bed and great shower, robes and slippers. Perfect location , a superb starting point in the morning after a cuppa in the garden room, with museums, shopping and vondelpark all mins walk away. Bridges , houseboats and the all important bakery on the doorstep. Super quick check out , sadly ..but only untill next time. Bags were stored free of charge. 20mins walk to the station or a tram at the main road will take you there every 5 mins , in 5 mins!...A perfect stay and a perfect hotel.…
It was an affordable place for the location as it’s in the centre of Amsterdam city. The best experience would be the exceptional customer service and friendly and welcoming staff; especially Ilham the receptionist who made me feel so welcome and at ease. First time in the city and she helped me with information. Additionally Nasil Mesbabi receptionist thank you for all your help! Greatly appreciate it and the wake up calls. The hotel is in good condition and very clear. Only downside I would say is the overcrowding of people in the room. I had ordered a one bed in one room but ended up getting a one bed sharing with 4 other people. It a lot to stomach at the time but I got on with it. Would have preferred a room by myself;alone. …
We chose this hotel as a last minute thing, so we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found. Rooms are clean and whilst small are ideal to use as a base. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I would definitely reccomend this hotel and it is only a 10 minute walk from Dam square and a 5 minute tram ride from Amsterdam central station. We booked this with a travel agent, but feel it would be just as easy and probably cheaper booking directly through the hotel.…
We booked this hotel on the assumption that it was a mid-level hotel, it certainly wasn't the cheapest option we looked at so thought that we would get more for our money than we actually did. In fairness, we found the location great for what we wanted to do whilst there. Upon arrival we were told that check in wasn't until later but we could leave our cases and they would call when the room was ready. We waited until 3pm (the usual check in time) with no phone call so headed back there anyway. We were given our room key and directions to our room. It's fair to say it was a bit underwhelming. Considering 3 of us were staying there, the room was incredibly small and we struggled to fit our 3 cases in there. The room was also very dark with hardly any lighting and only one mirror in the dark, which made it hard to get ready in. The hotel does offer free coffee downstairs which we were grateful for. However one of the cups was accidentally knocked over and some of it went on to one of the beds. Despite this, the sheets were not changed at all during our 4 day stay. When we asked reception they just told us it was only done every few days....! At one point we needed the iron too but they had no ironing board to go with it. One final problem, despite there being signs in the hallway to ask guests to keep it down it was verrrrrry loud at all hours. There is no soundproofing in the room which made it worse, it sounded like the people in the upstairs room were going to come crashing through the ceiling at any moment. There were people running up and down the stairs and shouting to each other in the middle of the night and despite someone apparently being on reception they were not told to keep it down (I had to call to them to be quiet but they did not listen). The noise policy should have been enforced. The next morning when this was mentioned the receptionist didn't seem to care and just shrugged it off.…
Myself and my husband decided to stay here for 2 nights. Bit worried due to other reviews but I have to say it was fab. Staff were very accommodating, friendly nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were large, don’t know why people are complaining about the rooms as they were lovely. Beds super comfortable, shower was great. It was close to the trams and close to dam square. My one and only gripe was there was no smoking in the hotel anywhere. I love a cig and a cuppa in the morning and I had to walk through the hotel and go outside. Not a dealbreaker though. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in wonderful Amsterdam. Thanks all the staff for being so lovely. Would stay again.…
