You are looking for a hotel in the city centre. Apollo Museumhotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam. Our hotel is located right next to the Rijksmuseum and is ideal for a city trip, or if you are attending meetings in the centre. Everything is within walking distance. World-class museums close to the hotel are the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk museum and the Heineken Experience. We are located in Pieter Cornelisz Hooftstraat where you will find the special window displays of all large international fashion houses. A feast for the eyes: glass door handles, marble floors, anything is possible in this street. For anyone wanting a good night out, Leidseplein is just 500 metres from the hotel; here you will find student bars, but also well-known clubs, such as De Melkweg and Paradiso. If you wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Vondelpark is just around the corner. This famous Amsterdam park is the place to go for culture, recreation and sports.

Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

It's only a 2 minute walk from the Museum quarter but it takes almost the same time to taxi, tram or walk from the Centraal Station. We chose a Superior room on the canal side but you do sacrifice view for constant traffic noise which (my phone app tells me) is almost a constant 45 dBA (even at night) and sometimes higher. The rooms were not some of Europe's largest at the bed/mattress combination somewhat mobile. Bathroom was bijou and compact but at least had a frosted glass door to the bedroom for privacy. Staff were helpful and arranged for TV to be fixed within the day. Wi-fi works at the speed of most British builders so take you own pigeons if there is anything important to send. Breakfast buffet was cheap and cheerful and included at a nominal E12.5/person in the bill. There is no restaurant. There is a large element of you get what you pay for but the convenience outweighed the noise for us, for the most part.

Dear ajm549, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the service of our team and your overall time in Amsterdam. Regarding the noise level, we would like to point out that our hotel is in the heart of Amsterdam and therefor a bit of traffic noise to the street side can not be avoided. However we do have rooms to the garden side as well, which are really quite. Our team would have loved to advise a different room if knowing of your situation. We would love to welcome you soon again to make your next stay even better then your recent one. Warm regards, Christina - Assistant Front Office Manager

Breakfast also good As for now on this is going to be my adress when in Amsterdam. The only not so handy fact is the flight of stairs to the entrance of the hotel difficult for peole with heavy l suitcases or handicap Inside there is a elavator

We have just returned home after a lovely visit to Amsterdam and Apollo Museum Hotel. 1.The Hotel is very convenient for everything and we were able to travel from airport by bus and bus stop about 5min walk from hotel. 2.The staff were very friendly and very helpful. 3.Water,sweets and Apples always available in reception area. 4.Breakfast had everything we wanted...maybe a little bit more fruit and a few different cereals would be nice. 5.Bed very comfortable and room quiet. 6.Shower good 7.Bathroom very small and didn't like glass door. 8.No comfy seat in bedroom. 9.Very poor Television reception. 10.My biggest problem was access at front door....my husband and I both found steps difficult and especially when carrying luggage.....but would chose to stay again as pluses outweigh the minuses.

We enjoyed our stay here for 2 x nights in early August. It was in a great location across the road from the hop on hop bus and canal boats. A short walk to the museums, restaurants and shopping. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioner could do with an upgrade though. There was also a bar and the staff were friendly. It was my birthday when we stayed there and we returned to the room after a day out to find a lovely gift from the hotel.

Hello, we paid with a credit card and an imprint was taken on arrival. That served as a deposit. Rooms should always be kept immaculate!

It’s not a super large hotel but I enjoyed my stay. It’s very very close to several major museums and the tram lines. But if you’re looking to stay in the hustle and bustle or near Red Light, this isn’t the best.

Is there a shuttle bus to and from airport
No hotel shuttle. That said, you are just a 1.5 block walk to the bus and tram stop right behind the Rijksmuseum. From the hotel entrance just walk a 1/2 block towards the R-museum...make a right and walk a block...the metro stop will be on your left.
