Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

No kitchen (!) and no restaurant to make up for it, the fridge is behind the front desk and only allows certain items (no alcohol), and you have to ask the front desk person to retrieve it. Front desk staff is not very friendly, but was able to check in a bit early at least. They didnt change the blanket sheet on any of the beds in the room for the 4 days I was there. Shower is just 4 walls, with no place to put soap or shampoo, and you have to push the water button ever 12 seconds (I counted). Steep narrow steps with no lift (I was 4 stories up). Common room is just 2 small tables infront of the check in desk. Only good thing is the location.

If you are going to use this hostel just for sleep it’s perfect place for u. It’s located in almıst heart of the city also you can take tram with a few steps away. But if you need to take a shower it’s might not the best place to have it. There is no place to put your clean clothes or at least you towel. They didn’t even put a miror on the sink. The lock of the toilet was broken too. But at the owerall stuff was nice and friendly

It was exciting place to stay even though it was a lot of noise down at the street and a little complicated to find. it was hectic night to add but whatever went as it should although was lit cramped to sleep it was in my fate almost girls in the room. I had also my luggage and bags in safe hands receptionist was a high priority to their clients and were kind to receive and respond everything one needs to get known about!

The receptionist was nice & helping at first but a mean snake the moment he asked for more money saying ''city taxes'' are not included in our reservation. We proved that all staying fees were indeed paid and asked why do we need to add money, without any explanation he canceled on us at midnight. Even though we had the coins in hand! We went to Orfeo right in front and loved it :) we are still waiting for the money to be transferred back to us. DO NOT GO.

I had a weekend trip in last weekend of May to Amsterdam which I cut to 1 day just because of the terrible time I had staying at this hostel. We had booked this place a day before as I did not have many options online in such short time & low cost(still ended up paying over 115 Euros for 2 beds which could have got us a decent hotel room, had we been patient enough to search for a hotel). Our thought was we need a place for 1 night to sleep so it shouldnt be so bad, I regret not having read the reviews of trip advisor. The beds were noisy and mattress thin, I couldn't sleep the whole night. The worst experience was toilet was so small you could just open the door and sit. Now added to that after a long day tiredness when we returned at night, the toilet was nasty with dump in it and even after complaints no one bothered to clean it. It was disgusting to go for a piss, forget about using it. I have never experienced such nasty stay ever. The first thing I did was get up early in the morning and leave Amsterdam back to Dusseldorf. I'm sure Amsterdam is a great place but in my memory I have etched for life as one of the most disgusting place I have visited because of this hostel.
