I recently stayed with a friend at the Andaz for vacation and we LOVED it. As soon as we walked in the doors, we were warmly greeted by staff who whisked away our bags and promptly delivered champagne. We were given a room with two twin beds, which had been our preference. The room was beautiful and quite large. We loved the daily wine happy hour and made some friends during our stay. Also, the bartenders were fantastic and we always made sure to visit for a nightcap (or three) at the end of the night. We visited the spa where we had wonderful massages and some nice relaxing time in the sauna. The hotel is located in a great location and after visiting various areas of the city during our six day stay, we were very happy with where we had chosen to stay. Overall, a true five star experience. Would absolutely stay again!

A wonderful 3 night stay for New Year’s Eve at the Andaz. We have stayed in some beautiful hotels around the world but this one seems to have got it very right ( only one small niggle I’ll leave that for the end )
From entering the hotel we were greeted immediately and check in smooth , wow even a drink given glass of fizz thank you nice touch our room was ready double bonus as we had an early flight.
We had a deluxe canal view room.
Wow a very well thought out room, Im speaking for myself as every hotel I have every stayed in there has been a mirror but has no socket for hair dryer or the mirror is in a dark space with me trying to stretch the dryer cord over to the mirror.
This hotel has it perfect the bedroom , it’s open plan I personally like this. With a large vanity unit with a wash bowl , large double sided mirror in the centre. Separate walk in wardrobe thy lights up when you go in, great as I hate suitcases in the room.
Breakfast we only had once as we ate out at other places. Limited choice for us , as we are vegan but still a good collection.
The bar area fantastic and the guys that ran it were brilliant.
My only small gripe and it happened twice was house keeping started to hoover the reception at 9pm which is right near the bar then proceed to walk in a hovered. Now wasn’t just me that looked up in disbelief, a couple opposite were eating a cheese platter and this man with a hoover was hovering right by them.
Pics I will add.

The food selections (full buffet breakfast and dinner at the Bluespoons) are tasty and healthy. The location is very convenient to most tourist attractions within central Amsterdam but slightly removed from the hustle and bustle. No sound/noise issues within the room. The design of the hotel is also a memorable aspect of our stay.

We spent 3 nights in Amsterdam during a lock down. The Hyatt team insured we were provided with a comfortable and safe environment that did not feel over the top. We ate dinner one evening via room service due to restaurant closures, it was a lovely meal which was fairly priced. We had an excellent stay along with our 6 year old Labrador retriever.

Upon check-in, my Globalist recognition through Guest of Honor was immediately recognized by the very friendly staff at the Andaz. We were upgraded to The Prinsengracht Suite, technically a Premium Suite under the World of Hyatt program that Globalists are not eligible for (Globalists only receive Standard Suites normally). However, we received it, showing that this hotel will go above and beyond to make guests happy with their stay. The room was 141 meters sq. and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the Prinsengracht canal. The Andaz breakfast was spectacular, and we were greeted on arrival at the hotel each time we entered. The amenities, such as the complimentary minibar, well-appointed gym, and sauna made the stay even better. The location was in the quieter section of Amsterdam, but not far from the action via walking/tram. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Amsterdam.

We loved our stay at the Andaz and would love to stay there again. The location is superb as it's near the trendy shopping and high-end restaurant district of the 9th Streets. The hotel was well appointed and had excellent customer service, amenities, and a luxury vibe. We upgraded to the King Canal View room which was more spacious. The rooms are super comfortable from the steaming hot showers, efficient A/C and heating system, to the endless supply of complimentary snacks and waters. The hotel offers concierge booking services to buy tickets to all the top sights and museums which saved us effort and time. We took advantage of the gym and spa. The equipment and facilities were tidy and top of the line, and not a single soul was using them to boot. The simple things like umbrellas at the door, and complimentary happy hour for guests made us feel welcomed and effortless.

We have been staying at the Andaz Amsterdam since it opened but have to agree with other reviewers that it seems to have struggled since covid. The lack of facilities now leaves us wondering if we should look else where next time we visit.
Gone is wine hour that use to see the bar and library area busy with people returning from their day out enjoy a glass of wine and some snacks. No longer are the draws filled with water and juice that you can help yourself too and the cookies behind the desk were no where to be seen. It was these little quirks that made a good hotel great and whilst we were expecting some changes due to the pandemic it felt sad that these hadnt been reintroduced and had been part of the reason we had returned over the years and would always recommend it to others.
Previously we would put a side a night to dine in Bluespoon looking forward to sampling dutch cuisine however it is currently only open on a Fiday and Saturday night and the bar stops serving at 10.40 during the week. Whilst we sampled some lovely cocktails the menu was limited to what it previously had been.
When we checked in the staff member advised that everything was back to pretty much normal and the gym was back operating 24/7 ... it felt very much far from normal and whilst some covid fatigue is expected I really hope this hotel can recover and be as good as it was a few years back. It seems were others have managed to move forward it's a little lost and was almost the feeling of been stuck in a soft opening stage.
Apart from the reduced dinning options the rooms are great and clean and the location is fantastic. This for now will be enough to keep us returning.

The hotel is at a great location in the heart of Amsterdam. Unfortunately the descriptions are not accurate. There is no rooftop access for hotel guests, unless you book a $2000 a night suite. Secondly the canal views are nowhere near what is pictured.
Worst of all is the design. The interior is so that the sink is directly next to the bed, so there is no way to use the restroom or wash your hands without disturbing your significant other.

The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are pretty quiet aside from some noise from adjacent rooms.

Our room service literally served us food with condiments that had food in it from prior use.

The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful, but this is overall not a hotel we will be visiting again.

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Andaz for two nights in April. As soon as I walked in the hotel staff promptly greeted me and checked me into my room. The rooms are unique as the sink/vanity area sit in the center of the shower space. I appreciate this because it allows for more natural light than trying to do your makeup in a room with no windows/only artificial lighting. Overall the room was spacious and with a closet to store my luggage, the bedroom felt even bigger. I recommend breakfast at Blue Spoon in the lobby - very good options for a buffet and the service is great. I loved the canal views from my bedroom too! Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

Three times we have stayed at the Andaz. Once Garden View, twice Canal View. No bathtubs in any of the rooms that we lodged in. As has been mentioned - vanity/sink in middle of room, water closet is a separate room by the entrance, and the shower is enclosed across the room.
