Detailed Reviews
This is the second time I stayed in the hotel, first time I had the ground level room, that was great and was very happy, on this occasion the room was on the top floor, not accessible via the lift which meant humping my bag without any help one floor up, this would not have been so bad if the steps were of a decent size but that was not the case.
I appreciate that this is quite normal for old properties in Amsterdam, however it would have been helpful to have had the option of the room type at the booking stage.
I am physically strong but even so I struggled to get my bag to the top floor, I don’t know what would have happened if that was not the case.
The rooms are recently furnished although being at the top floor, the pitched roof made it impossible to stand up in front of the toilet.
Breakfast is continental and fairly basic, but good enough for a light snack.
The rooms are clean and were always prepared in the afternoon so could have a late start to the day without the cleaners knocking on the door.
The location is good, about 20 mintiest walk from central station or Dam square.

Very central location and about a 10 minute walk from the Central station where the transport network is phenomenal, you can get the train, tram, bus or ferry from there which is great. The hotel room was modern but a little small, there was a wardrobe with dressing table and a to on the wall. The double bed was so comfortable and my husband and I had a wonderful nights sleep all three nights. The temperature of the room was just right for us too. I had asked for a room with a view and the view we had was terrific, out towards the port on the front of the hotel. Bathroom again was small but adequate the shower was good and easy to operate with a hairdryer available in there too. The only thing that I would say was needed in the room was maybe a small fridge to keep milk and drinks in to keep them chilled. The breakfast was good, mostly continental style with plenty of choice of different breads, croissants and buns, marmalades and jams as well as cheese and ham. Eggs were available too either hard boiled or fried if you wanted them. Fresh juices were also very refreshing and the tea and coffee machine was easy to operate with choice of cappuccino latte hot chocolate tea etc. Overall our stay was brilliant and we would definitely stay in this friendly hotel again if we ever visit Amsterdam again. Well done to all the staff for making our stay so memorable

This hotel is okay. The staff are nice and will do a lot to accommodate to your needs. They changed our room as I complained that I didn’t think it was up to standard as two bulbs were out and I didn’t have a side table (which I thought was bad for a superior room)
The breakfast is basic too. The hotel has its charm but for the price we paid I do feel it wasn’t quite up to scratch and should have been cheaper. The staff were the best thing about it. Small rooms and also a smell problem in the bathrooms, with both rooms we had (one worse than the other). I will say however that it was really very very clean and very well looked after. Carpets were being deep cleaned on arrival and everything was very very clean everywhere.

The only good thing about this Hotel is the location,Closed to the central station, you can easily take a tram or a nice walk from there
Room small and the bathroom was stinking as hell. We had to keep the bathroom door closed all the time. Probably some problems with the drain. the level of cleanliness was poor and considering what we paid for the staying ,I was expecting more than that .Breakfast ok, but nothing special

+1
It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the city's main train station on a quiet street in front of a canal. Small family hotel, clean and quiet. By the same standards and the room, spacious and bright, with all the necessary amenities.
I was particularly impressed by the fact that a special employee served, for reasons of protection from covid, the otherwise satisfactory breakfast.
Friendly and polite staff. Overall I was happy and I would not have any objection to staying there again.

Spent a few days in Amsterdam and this hotel was a great place to be based. Less than 10 mins for Amsterdam Centraal (Train & transport hub), which makes it a great location to be based. Staff were nice and friendly. Rooms were clean and tidy. My only negative comment on this hotel was that the bed was a little too soft.
All in all, it was a nice hotel and I would stay there again without hesitation.

Never stay here! Never make a reservation here! This is a disgusting hostel, not a hotel! They scam you into giving a €250 deposit for no reason. None of the actual hotels in the area require deposits. Their rooms are dirty and smell like smoke and weed despite advertising that the rooms are nonsmoking. The bathrooms reek of urine and they have mold and mildew. The steps leading up to their self-described “deluxe” room are dangerous; it is in fact an attic and not a room. Even though we never stayed in the room, the staff refused to acknowledge our leaving as a cancellation and forced us to sign a form stating that our leaving as an “early departure” despite us barely stepping foot in the room instead of a cancellation in order to absolve themselves of fault and potentially not have to refund us. They claimed that without this form they could not release the hold on our card for the deposit. The worst part is the personnel on staff claim that they aren’t allowed to discuss or process any refunds and the manager never answers her phone to authorize refunds. However, the staff had no problem charging us for the room as soon as we arrived, even though our room wasn’t ready until many hours later. The manager also dodged calls from both us and Expedia in order to block our refund, even though she was texting the staff while we’re in the lobby. The staff told us we would have to come back the next day to discuss a refund with the manager. Based on our experience and upon reading other reviews for this establishment, it is clear that their actions are tactics to scam people out of their money or force them to stay in this disgusting hostel since they won’t get their money back. Thankfully our bank was able to file a dispute and get us back our deposit. After spending more than half the day on the phone, Expedia was able to cancel this reservation for us and refunded our $600+.

The positive first - the location of this hotel is great. It's ten minutes from the train station and really close to most of the things you'll want to see in central Amsterdam.
But the hotel itself really isn't very good at all. There's a lift, but it's tiny and the doors wouldn't open on the second floor when we tried it. So we resorted to using the stairs - which might not be an option for older guests, as the stairs were very steep.
The room was a bit small. And the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together and the mattress was really soft. The bathroom had a slightly sulphurous smell all the time we were there and the toilet roll was trapped inside a fiendish device which made it almost impossible to get to.
Oh, and they employ cleaning staff who think it's ok to walk into a room when the "do no disturb" sign is on the door.
The breakfast was barely adequate.
I tried to find a decent hotel at a reasonable price. I guess such a thing just doesn't exist in Amsterdam.

The location of this hotel is great, about ten minutes walk to the Centraal Station. In fact we walked everywhere and didn't use public transport at all. Unfortunately our room did not face the canal. There is a lift but we were between floors and had to use the stairs which were very hazardous, I even saw one of the cleaning ladies trip up on them. Our "superior twin room" was tiny and it was difficult to get in and out of the bed because it was so close to the wall. We didn't even unpack because after hanging up our coats in the wardrobe there was no room for anything else. The walls were painted a garish shade of mustard, no pictures. The bathroom was also very cramped but the shower satisfactory. Breakfast was okay but monotonous and I would have preferred hot cooked eggs instead of hard boiled and white/cottage cheese instead of the dry pastries.
All in all a pleasant stay but for the price I paid I would have expected a bit more. Would stay again but would insist on a better room.

Hi. You are better off just getting the train from the airport. It takes 15mins and the train goes from the airport and is very frequent
I had the quadruple room on the first floor, and yes, that was acccessible by lift.
Yes, there i. We stayed on the 2nd floor, but did not need lift. Hope this helps.
I had no problems with this property at all
Found them very friendly and helpful
I can only comment on my personal experience
yes it quite quiet where this hotel is situated you may get a few people walking or riding past but other than that it is away from the hustle and bustle
