Detailed Reviews
I booked this hotel at the last minute as I needed to stay in Amsterdam for a day. The hotel is a boutique hotel so don't have high expectations but it was definitely value for money. The reception is the actual bar on the ground floor and the staff organised and friendly. I had to wait 30 minutes for my room to be ready but it gave me time to have a beer. Having navigated the steep stairs (these are not for the faint hearted or elderly and there's no elevator) I found my room suitable for the price. The bedroom was clean with kettle and tea/coffee. The bathroom was suitable and contained an open shower which wasn't an issue as the shower curtain prevented water filling the bathroom. There were soap dispensers on the wall and the water hot. The bathroom was also well lit and towels clean.
The bed was comfortable and I slept well I was conscious of the bed bug issues having read previous reviews but I had a good night's sleep with no trouble.
The big plus for this hotel is the location for its price. I had to get some emergency shopping and get some repairs to my glasses done before heading out. Its an easy walk to the main shopping areas which helped me a lot. It's only a short walk to nearby bars and restaurants (many bars!) and as well as key sights. The red light district is nearby also and it is a safe area to base yourself for a weekend break.

I came across this hotel in the budget section of the Lonely Planet guide to Amsterdam. This hotel is far from what you expect of a budget hotel. The rooms were clean and recently renovated. All rooms have private bath. The staff and the hotel bar were great. The best part of the hotel was the location. It is less than 5 mins. from Centraal Station, right off the Damrak, and walking distance to just about everything in Central Amsterdam. I would definitely stay here the next time I'm in Amsterdam. I got a great room for 70 Euro.

Clean ery friendly and loved the pringles they provided after one too many. the pool table was a bit dipped but many good games and a few arguments because of this but we were made to feel at home.

We paid over £400 for this hotel for 2 nights, it was extremely filthy dusty and dirty covering all skirting boards, what looked like a smudge of poo on the shower curtain, paint chipping off the all walls, mould in ALL tile grout in the bathroom, towel radiator filthy and rusty, bleach stains and other stains on carpets, the first night got woken at 3am by a girl banging on our door shouting help then heard her getting dragged down the stairs this continued on till 6am. We stopped here 4 years ago it was perfect very clean to a 4* standard but now it’s really downhill very disappointed, for the price we expect so much more. The only good thing I can say the lady who checked us in was nice. DO NOT STAY HERE

If I had paid no more than £90 per night for this room, I'd be satisfied due to the location. However, I paid £234 for one night and I am severely disappointed with the lack of value for money.
My first interaction with the hotel was when I called them prior to my stay, the rude staff did not give me a very good impression. I fell very poorly the day before I was due to arrive and I was asking if it would be possible to change the date of my booking (not cancel) to another peak date - I did not have any expectation of this as I know it was short notice. I spoke to a man on the phone who was very condescending, he laughed and said I can but it will cost me double the price. Before the phone conversation, it allowed to me to submit a date change request where it displayed the costings of how much the room would cost me if the hotel accept it. The date that I selected was the same cost, so he wanted to get more money through greed. I explained this and he ended up passing the phone onto another man who was more understanding, he explained to me that it was out of his power, but there would be a woman working in the morning that could sort it. I ended up telling him to leave the booking as it is, and if I was not well enough I would send somebody else to avoid me loosing the £234 I had paid.
I did end up travelling to the hotel as I felt well enough. The hotel also has a shisha bar where you're required to check in. The young lady that checked us in was lovely, although the music was that loud, no one could hear a thing. The hotel room was awful, it felt like a prison cell. The walls were disgusting and the bed had no head board. The carpets were just as bad. The window blind hardly served its purpose and the bathroom smelt horrible. The beds weren't comfortable and I woke up with a bad back - music was blaring until 4am, I'm usually a good sleeper but this was unbearable.
Other reviews state they have stayed in a refurbished room, this mustn't apply across the whole site as ours definitely was not refurbished.
The only good thing about this hotel was the location and the lady that checked us out on the day of departure. She asked us if we would like a coffee before we left, asked if there was anything more she could do for us and and wished us safe travels back home. The location is perfect, all main attractions are right on the doorstep.
Overall, save your money and don't bother booking this, some 5* hotels in Dubai cost the same, if not less, per night.

We booked a deluxe room.
Omg it was terrible.
Dirty stained duvet in bottom off wardrobe, no hangers in wardrobe. Carpet stained everywhere.
Shower curtain moldy, Blind too big for window.
Stains on walls and paintwork chipped. Dust behind radiator. We both have medical problems so no way were we staying here.
We didn't even unpack and went down to complain and ask for a refund.
Told we had to go through Booking. Com.
Then they asked for bank details and said money would be refunded in a couple of days, no way did we fall for that. Refund should go back on the card used for booking.
Had to find another hotel which cost us more but was clean and welcoming.
Put a complaint in with Booking. com when we got back and asked for a refund, complaint application still ongoing.
Our first visit to Amsterdam was bittersweet.

Spent 2 nights there, the location fantastic, couldnt be any closer to central Amsterdam. All the staff were amazing, really helpful and very, very friendly. Not a criticism but just some advice, like lots of places in Amsterdam, the stairs up to the rooms are steep so not ideal if you have any mobility issues. Overall, I highly recommend The Frisco Inn and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

21 euros for a beer and a cocktail! Say No More. Total Rip Off
Amsterdam is an expensive city but this place was the worst.
I feel that the Dutch, along with the rest of the Europeans can’t stand the English and just want to exploit them.
The lady who served wasn’t very friendly and very unwelcoming. There were no prices advertised.

+1
A hell hole. They call it clean and pleasant but it is so so not. Filthy and unhygienic cesspit which nearly ruined our city break. And they couldn't care less. The minute you open the front door you begin to stick to the heavily stained carpets, dust and dirt is a common sight. The pics are only a taster of the Frisco Inn

I chose this hotel based on the reviews I read here and on pictures on the hotel's website. The website makes the hotel look GREAT! It must be the lighting of the pictures...they have a hell of a marketing person working for them to make the place look that good online!!! We walked into a filthy bar (and kitchen) at 1 in the afternoon. We went up to our room and on the way up heard someone throwing up in the room next to ours. The entire room smelled like pee and smoke (I had asked for a non-smoking room, but those don't exist here). My boyfriend said it smelled like a cat had sprayed. I knew it was a bad sign when I was told that if I wanted to smoke hash in the room to make sure I opened the window. There was nothing "new", "redone", or "clean" about this hotel, as others had said. The walls didn't appear to have been painted in quite some time. The carpet was filthy, as well. I didn't even want to put my bag on it. I could not stay here, so we left for the Ibis, which always guarantees you a good, clean room even at the last minute. The people running the place were pleasant and nice, but there was no way I could stay in an unclean hotel.

yes as far as I know the rooms are all ensuite
Don't think so.. But I am sure you will find some in the area..
Yes, can ask for one at reception if not. Plus an iron too!
Have a great time.
They have a 'no smoking' policy like many of Amsterdam's hotels...Doesn't stop people though. Your risk I.e. Fine.
