Our small hotel is situated in a beautiful canal-house that is over 300 years old, nestled on the quiet, picturesque Singel, the oldest of the four major ring canals in Amsterdam's famed inner city. Our cosy hotel offers an oasis right in the centre of town. The hustle and bustle of the shopping streets around Dam Square, the charm of the myriad canals lined with 17th-century houses and world famous sights, such as the Anne Frank House, are all literally steps away. There are also convenient trams and other public transport options to whisk you off to all of the city's many attractions. Room information: the hotel offers 13 double and single rooms and one triple room. We serve a good continental breakfast-buffet in our light and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are ready for check in at 14.00 o'clock. If you arrive earlier we can store your luggage until then. We look forward to have you as our guests!

Detailed Reviews
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but very small. The bedlight wasnt working and could not be mended. My room was on top floor and the narrow staircase with 60 non-standard stairsteps was difficult to ascend and descend at my age. Although the breakfast buffet was minimal and repetitive, the coffee was good. The location of the hotel was suberp; as a solo traveller I could reach destinations easily and enjoy the city's hot spots on foot.

My partner booked this and I was very worried after reading some of the reviews but, I was pleasantly surprised.
Friendly staff, free freshly squeezed orange, soft drinks and coffees all day which is a bonus.
Breakfast is a bit poor , they could do more but I’m happy with a croissant , banana and a couple of coffees!
The bedrooms could do with updating but saying that, they bed was so comfortable, fresh soft white cotton duvets and pillows, we slept so well. We had a big fan and opened the windows so it was lovely and cool (there is no aircon) but it was fine (and was hot that weekend).
The location is perfect, 7min walk to Dam Square.
I would definitely go back there again.
Nice, clean, friendly, quaint hotel in a perfect location.

We stayed for 4 night in October 2014. The location is ideal and the hotel is clean and quiet but the canal facing twin room and en-suite was small. Stairs are very steep and the stair carpet could do with replacing and the landings decorating. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. The location means that you can easily walk/tram to all central Amsterdam districts. It is also an easy walk from the train station to the hotel, keep to the right out of the station if you want to avoid the Red Light district.

Appalling service, we was unable to travel due to Coronavirus, our flights was cancelled by easyJet who issued a full refund. This place and the owner handled it terribly, very arrogant and very patronising. Told us we must pay a cancellation fee even though we can’t physically get to the country, very hard to get in touch with. If you want a hotel that cares about its customers then definitely avoid this place. One of the worst places I’ve ever dealt with in my life. AVOID

I wish I'd checked the reviews more carefully, in which case I wouldn't have stayed here.
Even as a solo traveller I expected at least a queen bed, no indication that I'd be 4 flights up narrow stairs with luggage and a room the size of cubicle. Taty decor, tired and in need of re-decorating. Window hard to open , opposite another hotel and all their rooms, stifling hot. Crap water pressure that totally stopped in the afternoon, so bad you had to dance around the tiny shower to get wet. The soft mattress was dreadful and worse the room had 1 set of steel bunk beds? Seriously? Pluses were the staff who were young and helpful, the breakfast was fine and a nice surprise was the fresh orange juice. The cost of the room was way too expensive for this low standard. Would I stay here again? Not in a hairy pink fit!

This was a bad experience from the very start. The sign on the main entrance door stated ‘if no one is at reception please use other door but beware of the cats’ RED FLAG. One we got to the room via a dangerously steep stairs, we were disappointed in what we saw. The room was tiny. The en-suite door could not open fully because it was hitting the bed. Nowhere to hang our clothes apart from a few hooks on the wall. The room looked so dated, it was like a cheap bed sit from the 70’s. At that point we made our mind up to leave and luckily we were able to book another hotel just down the street at great additional cost.

There was a mouse in our room. Staff seemed to be reading off a script about the mouse problem clearing indicating this is a reoccurring problem. Wifi only worked in the lobby which was only open til 11pm. Bathroom was nice and comfortable bed.

Lovely hotel in fantastic location.
Room had a beautiful view of the Singel canal.
The staff very friendly and helpful.
Due to the age and style of the building the stairs are very narrow and steep so wouldn't be suitable if you have mobility issues.
Overall , great choice - would definitely return

Besides the great location and the very friendly staff the rooms and access are terrible. No elevator, no air-conditioning, small staircase (to be expected in a small canal house hotel), and tiny rooms. It reminded me of going for a school holiday. Terrible value for money.

No Air Conditioning. large windows that open. Has door on bathroom. Be prepared for steep steep stairs. No elevator.
Getting luggage up can be difficult if your not in good physical condition.
Towels & soap dispensers yes. Don't recall seeing a hair dryer.
And €150 fine if you do.
Ciao. Quando ho soggiornato io, ho avuto un letto matrimoniale "classico", senza nessuna richiesta, da parte mia
