Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days last week. Beware if you have difficulty in climbing steep stairs. Floors 3 and 4, the stairways are steep. The room we had on the 4th floor was small and only a small window. Fortunately, the reception staff were very understanding and were able to move us to the second floor. (I am over 70) The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was ok. Continental style. On the whole the hotel was good, clean and we found all the staff we came into contact with her friendly and helpful. Amsterdam itself is an amazing city to visit, plenty to see, But beware of the cyclists, they appear, not to care about pedestrians. Public transport good.

This hotel is superb. Booked it to stop with some friends for 2 nights and the room was lovely. We were at the front of the hotel and if the windows were open you could hear everything in the street, but as soon as they were closed it was silent. We were there over a weekend and during gay pride and found no noise in the hotel at all. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was great and the location is absolutely brilliant. I would definitely stay here again

I couldn’t be more disappointed. The room was tiny, we could hear all that went on in the rooms and hallway beside us. The bathroom was tiny with black mould. The cost was extortionate for a filthy paltry part of town. On a positive note, the breakfast was simple but good, and the staff very friendly and helpful, however when I asked to borrow a power outlet converter I received a frustrated and angry “no - go buy one from a souvenir shop!”. This is a no frills hole in the wall at a very premium price in a foul part of the city. Don’t bother!

My family and I were supposed to arrive on the 28th but due to a strike we had to come the following day so had to change our reservations, the hotel was so nice about it and refunded us the day no problem. After reading some reviews in the taxi on the way our hopes weren’t very high however that changed as soon as we got there, the hotel is tucked away but once you get in, wow. The gentleman at the front desk was so nice and friendly, only thing was we were staying in the top floor and there’s no lift so that was a bit of a struggle but was okay as gave me and my family something to laugh about. The rooms were so nice and the little bathrooms were lovely with complimentary toiletries. We are yet to try the breakfast but if it tastes as good as it smells then I’m sure we will be fine

If you want to sleep at night, this is NOT the hotel for you. Also if you want price-quality balance this is equally not for you. I hope someone had mentioned this in other comments before I spent 250 Euros for a sleepless night - maybe most comments/guests are by people with different needs from ours (purpose to visit the city). In my case, I was traveling with my 14y old son and, after a long day visiting the city by bicycle, all we wanted was to be able to sleep. Unfortunately the hotel room was extremely noisy, both in terms of street noise (even if we were in the 3rd floor) but _SPECIALLY_ in terms of the guests who “party” the whole night in their bedrooms (young crowds coming to Amsterdam for the pleasures of weed, drinks and group fun, and less to "visit museums"). Since the rooms are not sound-isolated, we could ear all their yelling, conversations, disputes, loud music, etc… The worst of this experience was realising that after informing and asking the receptionist (Paulina) to intervene (3 times in the night), I realised that her level of sympathy and tolerance with those “nice boys who just want to have fun in Amsterdam” was much bigger than her understanding of our family need to rest. So I’d say this hotel is ok if you are coming to Amsterdam for the pleasures of night life since this is just around the Red Light District. But not for sleeping at night.

Hello , we’re arriving for 2 nights on 6th November . What time can we check in please ?
Our official check in time is 14:00, however, we frequently have rooms ready earlier. We suggest that you bring your luggage to the hotel for safekeeping as soon as you arrive in Amsterdam. At that time we will be able to inform you better as to what time your room can be ready. I hope this answers your questions, but if not, please do not hesitate to contact us again. We look forward to welcoming you to our hotel.
