Detailed Reviews
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of some birthday celebrations and I was really happy with the cleanliness of the rooms and communal areas. It was a decently priced hotel for the duration of our stay. The hotel decorated my room with some balloons and gave us a bottle of wine which was so lovely of them to do! Every morning, the staff would greet you and wish you a good day. Location wise is great too! Less than 5 minutes away from Dam Square and around a 5 minute walk to the Red Light District. Would recommend this hotel for anyone who is wanting a hotel with a central location! Please note - The hotel has no lifts and there are steep stairs to climb.

Great stay for a trip with friends.
Location is everything. A stones throw from Dam square.
Always someone available at the front desk.
Be aware it’s a traditional tall building with no lift and very steep stairs. I wouldn’t want to stay here with a partner a drag large suitcases up them.
We book a triple room but hotel had over booked and told us they had to put an extra bed in a twin room.
They then had a single room cancellation and could put on of us in there.
If we had wanted that. We would have booked it.
Instead they offered up free use of the drinks fridge in reception. Beers and soft drinks.
I would stay here again if with friends, if with a partner id look for a quieter position in Amsterdam as the street is noisy

Stayed here for three nights, definitely paid for the location. Rooms are clean, bathroom is hazardous, it’s about 1.5m square and that’s your sink, toilet and shower - your shower curtain divides the small space, water goes everywhere all over floor.
Asked for 2 single beds in room was told this was fine got there this wasn’t the case.
Staff on arrival didn’t offer to help with luggage, or show us to our room, stairs are steep which was ok for us but could be a hindrance to others.
Throughout the night there was noise from other rooms, banging etc
Beds are comfy, location is brilliant. definitely paying for the location and not the hotel. Rooms are small which didn’t bother me but bathroom wasn’t great. There was a young man with curly hair who was so friendly and polite the other members of staff didn’t even give a hi or bye to us when going in and out the hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with 2 friends. We arrived to a very friendly man on reception who told us we’d been upgraded to a 4 person room. This room had such lovely views of the street we were on and loved being able to see the whole road from my bed. Particularly liked the large windows that let lots of light in so much so that we slept with the curtains open on 2/3 nights. Beds were comfy and I slept well. Could be a little noisy at times but if you’re going to bed late and waking up early to see the sights then it’s fine. Breakfast was continental and there was a variety of items which were regularly replenished. The location was perfect and was about a 10 minute walk from the central station surrounded by many different shops and restaurants. Amsterdam in general is such a lovely city with so much to do and I would definitely stay in this hotel again if I revisited the area. Would highly recommend ❤️❤️

The hotel could not be better located: right next to the Dam Square and walking distance to the main areas: De Wallen, Leidseplein, Museum square and many more. Less than 10 minutes away from the Main Station by foot and near all public transportation. The room was everything we needed for a small vacation. It was very clean, modern, cozy and very comfy beds. There was quite little room for luggage and clothes etc. but manageable. There is no elevator and the stairs are pretty steep, so they can be tricky for older people. It's worth the extra money compared to the hotels that are further away because the location of the hotel just made everything easier for us. The staff from the cleaners to the receptioners were amazing and so helpful.

A great little hotel, hidden in the very heart of the city. I use the word hidden deliberately because the hotel is in two very unassuming buildings, surrounded by restaurants with flashy neon signs, and those who aren't looking for it probably wouldn't even notice it. We walked past the entrance when heading back to our room a few times.
But once you're in there, you find a comfortable great little room, with a big squashy bed, full memory foam mattress, and a wet room shower. This hotel has made the absolute best use of its space down to the last cm.
However, the pink elephant in the room, and one that you will see in other reviews, are the stairs. They are very narrow, and there are a lot of them! We were in room 57 which is right at the top. And required going up no less than 5 flights of stairs to get up there. And the stairs are extremely narrow, and at some points feel more like climbing a ladder. This is not a criticism, because such stairs are a feature of the old dutch houses. So it's to be expected, but if you are in any way not in good health, I'd make sure you request a room on the lower floors, as the stairs could easily go from challenging to dangerous if you aren't able to take them on.
But that's the only advisory notice of an otherwise brilliant hotel. And the one thing I will say about being on the top floors is that you are high enough above the noise on the streets, that you will still get a good night's sleep, despite the fact that it couldn't be more in the centre of the city if it tried to be.

+1
Location was 10/10 even though at night it was extremely noisy- this wasn’t just because of all the night life outside. People in the hotel were banging and crashing around until 4/5am in the morning. We stayed in the side hotel not the main one so this may be why we were ‘forgotten about’.
Our room was unbelievably small, the pictures make them look really big and clean- they are not.
Our room wasn’t cleaned, we where here from Tuesday-Friday when we went to enquire about this they said we shouldn’t leave the sign that says ‘we want our towels cleaned’ on the door, we should leave it with nothing on but this was not explained to us, so this was a big communication barrier. The women behind the counter got us our towels but we also asked for toilet paper as we were out of this as well. When we re mentioned this she looked disgusted as she had to go back down the stairs to get the toilet paper.
Pillows were awful you only get one pillow and you may as well not have one.
Bed wasn’t comfy.
No introduction when we got into the hotel.
Language barrier seemed to be a big problem.
Cramped room for 3 people.
The stairs in the side building are AWFUL! My partner and his friend are 6ft5/6 and they could just about get up the stairs. There is also no mention of this just a mention that there is no lift.
Shower is just a wet room so if you like going to the toilet and getting wet feet then the hotel will be great for you!
The main hotel guest toilet is also broken.

This hotel is brilliantly located right next to dam square with easy access to shops and restaurants. The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. The bedrooms are are very modern, the beds are comfy and air con is provided in the room which was handy in the heat. I would definitely stay here again!

Pros - The location is at the center of the market.
Unfortunately, apart from the location there are no pros to this hotel.
Cons -
There is no lift.
Stairs are steep and too small to place your feet.
Hot water will only come after successful run of cold water for 10 minutes that too if you are lucky.
Rooms are too small, not at all like the pictures you see.
Constant noise of everything happening in other rooms.
When we came to the hotel, we were informed there are 2 buildings within 10 meters of distance. However, the second building doesn't have any reception, so you can understand.
Walls are as thin as paper, you can hear people going up and down, you can hear them dragging their luggage on the stairs instead of picking it up ( which was fine for me as that's the only option after few stairs and that's what I had to do). You will be hearing anyone opening tap, kids running on the top floor and stuff banging on the floor.
Only solution to the above problem, explore the area as much as you can so that when you return you are tired as hell and you will be asleep within a few minutes without noticing any disturbance.
Suggestion for Indian families - We tend to travel with heavy luggage. Please do not choose this stay at any cost, even if it's free because there is no one to help you and you have to drag your own heavy luggage to whichever floor you will get.

Such amazing value for money. The location was perfect and we hadn’t been before but it’s a ten mineuets walk from the train and right in the centre.
The room was clean and the staff always so helpful. They have a left luggage area and check out was smooth.
Room was a little noisy on the street but not a disturbance to the stay and is of course expected when the location is central.
The stairs are frequently mentioned in reviews but no problem for the able bodied.
Will be staying again!
