About 10 mins walk from Centraal station. Supermarket next door and a lot of restaurants and amenities within a 0-5 min walk radius (and ofcourse Dam Centraal).

Very chïc hotel. Vibrant and colourful. Very clean. Friendly hosts.

Room was a bit more compact than I’d like. Set up is different. Shower is in the bedroom area (a transparent glass cubicle maybe 3 metres from the bed head) and the toilet facility is about 6 feet from the foot of the bed (normal door closure for this). If you’re uncomfortable with your couple / friend / family and need privacy this isn’t for you but if you’re travelling alone it’s perfect or extremely comfortable with who you’re sharing with, go for it!

We stayed here for 2 night with our kids. The staff was very kind and good with the kids. They really good anticipated to the covid-19 situation. For dinner, they had prepaired a good list of good restaurants for delivery and we were allowed to eat this in their restaurant with plates and cutlery, very nice! We enjoyed breakfast, beautiful modern room with balkony, perfect location and very nice and helpfull staff. We would recommend this to everyone with or without kids, business and leisure. Thank you!

Our stay at The Highlander was amazing. The service was fantastic from start to finish, we dropped off our bags and returned later for check in, our luggage had already been taken up to our room. We were also there for a special occasion and there was a little note and a complimentary bottle of Prosecco waiting for us!

The room was lovely, the bed was really comfy and the facilities like the Chromecast tv made a nice little extra.

We struggled with breakfast as we are both vegan. That’s the only thing I would say needs improvement, if you don’t have dietary requirements the breakfast looked lovely and there was a lot of choice. We arranged for breakfast in bed one morning which did cost extra but was really nice, it was just a shame there wasn’t many vegan choices.

The location of the hotel is perfect, with a tram stop right outside you can get anywhere. Central station is a 5 minute walk away and you are virtually opposite Dam square.

We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay again.

The staff was lovely but we have an unpleasant experience at the hotel.
I did a reservation straight with their webpage and for two doble rooms excluding the breakfast. It was a mistake by my side because I read the word "breakfast" but not the word "excluding". Just as soon as we did the check in we realized that our reservation was without breakfast, so, if we would like to have it we would pay 17,50€ per person.

After checking in the webpage the availability of two smaller rooms INCLUDING breakfast, from the room, I suggested the staff if a change for a smaller room with breakfast was possible instead of the double room without it. At first they answered me that, it was not possible since we've done our reservation via booking.com, that we don't, it was not possible, after clarifying it, it was because all the small rooms were taken, but it did not match with the information in the webpage...

Ten minutes after, at the reception desk, I showed that there were availability of two small rooms with breakfast at the webpage so, then, the recepcionist told me that he needed to check if the change could be possible with his supervisor, who was sitting at the lobby, after a briefly consult with her, the recepcionist told us that the changes policy is only allowed with 24 hours of previous notification... But I realized about the mistake at the checking in :( so definitely not possible.

That was a very unkind situation since we have the sensation of being somehow fooled, not because the change was
or was not possible but because they change the version 3 times for not doing it, very unpleasant really.

In the meantime the fire alarm sounded once.

On the bright side, they keep our luggage until the room was available and the staff was always with a smile on their face.

We had a lovely few days stay here. The staff were amazing and so polite and helpful. The bed was so comfy it made it so hard to get up and leave it , room was beautiful and clean, the hotel is a 6 min walk from central station (train leaves to central station every 10 mins from the airport so its ideal) the hotel is pretty much close to everything and not to mention yhe breakfast was so tasty all freshly cooked would definitely reccomend

Friendly hotel offering well equipped rooms in Amsterdam city centre close to central station and the Dam. Rooms are clean, sizeable ( paid) parking spaces are close by and they offer reduced prices for parking. They offer a decent breakfast and have friendly staff.

A fantastic hotel with great staff. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and were given all of the information we needed. The room was absolutely fantastic and was incredibly modern with the option of using Chromecast so we were able to watch whatever we wanted on tv. The shower was amazing, usually hotels have bad water pressure but this was not the case here. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was the comfiest bed myself and my partner have ever slept in! Having just hand luggage, the hotel was a short walk from the train station so it made carrying a heavy bag convenient and due to the location, everything we wanted to visit was within a short walking distance. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

The hotel is very well located. It is a 10-minute walk from the train station and from the Dam square. Behind and around are lots of restaurants and tram station.
The breakfast is nice, usually cold, because it's not heated. Scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, cheese, yoghurts, and more.
The service is really nice, and they are trying their best to help and make the most to satisfy you.
BUT our room was very small, and it is usual in Amsterdam but the arrangement of the room makes it smaller. In the room, there are Bluetooth speakers that worked 1 day out of 4, and chrome cast that didn't work at all. I asked them to fix that on the 2nd day; nothing happened. Then again on the 3rd day, also nothing then on the last night, the manager came to try and help and also compensate us, so this was really nice, but the main reason I choose this hotel, was for this little things, and they didn't worked.
The shower is great, and their own line of shower and body gel smells amazing.
There is a minibar and safe in the hotel. An AC also, and a lift. The decor is unique , stylish, and young.
The bed is very soft, with huge pillows. I was sure the bed would kill my back, but no... I slept great.
Overall, we enjoyed coming back to the room.

Our recent trip to Amsterdam included a stay at this boutique style hotel. We arrived to the Central Train station and walked a short 15-20 minutes to The Highlander. If street work had not been going on it would have been even easier. Upon arrival the front desk clerk, Laura, greeted us and immediately asked if we need a coffee and a pastry. We were advised our room would be ready shortly after lunch (it was only 9:30am) so we left our luggage in secured storage and went exploring. The included breakfast was extensive and they even did made to order eggs. The yogurt and fixings were also extensive. Our room on the 7th floor overlooked the back and was very quiet. The glass shower exposed to the room was different but good use of the available space. We were also pleased that many tours and tickets could be arranged directly with reception. We highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Amsterdam.

We wanted a modern hotel in a central location at a reasonable price. The Highlander definitely ticked those boxes. We upgraded our room (for a very reasonable fee) to the larger Mansion Room and it was so so worth it. Bed was really comfortable. Shower was excellent. Staff were attentive and service really good. I would definitely recommend.
