Hotel's Favourite
We enjoy a fair amount of long weekend city breaks around Europe, but no hotel has ever come this close to the 5* service we received at the Crowne Plaza. Everything from the welcome, our clean & comfortable room and the staff's friendly manner, made us feel so welcome & exceeded our expectations during the stay. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, I can't compliment the staff enough! The breakfast was amazing; well stocked & such an enormous variety. The hotel's location is in a peaceful area, but only a 5 minute walk to the train station & a 15-20 minute train ride into central Amsterdam. We left very happy customers as well as new IHG members, so we will certainly be returning in the future. We'd highly recommend a visit here!

This hotel was perfect for us. So welcoming with fantastic travel links into city and airport.
€8 for all day travel card, for tram, bus and metro.
The staff went above and beyond and honestly made our stay in this difficult time very chilled and relaxing.
Nothing was too much trouble, and they just went the extra mile to accommodate us. From bar staff to the lovely reception ladies, everyone was polite and friendly.
The room itself was very comfortable, big king bed with lovely pillows. Large windows - so it was bright and airy. Great shower too. Coffee machine a fab extra.
The club floor is well worth the
extra money, since it gives you access to inclusive drinks and snacks as well as a great continental breakfast.
I would give it 10/10. We will visit again.

We've stayed in Crowne Plaza Amsterdam south for a week with two kids. The hotel is great, the room for four was huge and very comfortable. It looks far from the city center but is a great choice. There are metro, tram and bus station just a few meters from the hotel and we could reach the city center in 15-20 minutes. The surroundings are a very recent neighborhood with fantastic modern buildings.
The service is great, everyone is very kind and helpful at the front desk and in the restaurant. The breakfast is delicious with several choices. The only remark is that it was possible to be a little bit more careful with the bedroom cleaning. During a 7-day stay, it was expectable to have a deeper cleaning in the middle of the stay. Besides that, we've really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall a good stay but the hotel need to do a little more for IHG members.
On the positives, the hotel is in a fantastic location, a 5 min walk from Amsterdam Zuid, which means you can catch a train to elsewhere without facing the chaos of Centraal. And it's only 4 or 5 stops to the main attractions and shopping areas.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and beds are great. We had a room facing the street at the back, and it was one of the quietest rooms I've ever had in a city centre. The window soundproofing and black out shades are brilliant.
Breakfast was adequate, but for the price it lacked choice compared to other hotels. And if there is a coach party staying, then be prepared for queuing and chaos.
On the not so good, I contacted the hotel a few days beforehand to request a room with a walk in shower. I was offered one if I paid 75 euros to upgrade the room. So we ended up with a shower bath combo, which was really pretty poor as the shower was on the long side, not the short side, of the bath so was cramped and the shower splashed onto the floor. Funnily enough when we checked in, the person next to us was offered a room upgrade for 45 euros and not what I was quoted. Usually I get complimentary room upgrades anyway but obviously not this time.
On check out, we asked for a late checkout to 2.30. We were told we had to have checked out by 2pm or else it would be an additional 20 euros an hour. Really? As a longstanding IHG member I was amazed at that response.
Housekeeping was the usual mixed bag....some days it was good, other days they forgot to replace teas, coffee, water or towels.
However overall I'd recommend this hotel as it ticks a number of boxes compared to those in central Amsterdam.

Outstanding stay in large part thanks to the fantastic team who run the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South, including Catherine and Richard. They were extremely caring and really helped us during a period of bad weather, lost luggage and cancelled flights out of Schipol. We eventually decided to drive on to our next European destination, rather than fly, thanks to KLM's disorganisation. Just one word of advice for anyone using a car and parking in the hotel's underground car park - it's super expensive. Up to €80 a day. I initially read that as €8.0, so it was a shock. It's managed by QPark not the hotel, and it's daylight robbery. The hotel can give you a slight discount though. We really enjoyed our brief stay at the Crowne Plaza South Amsterdam and would have stayed more nights, but the parking costs ultimately made that prohibitively expensive. Highly recommended otherwise,

I was very much helped by Max, Fleur , Charlotte and Timothy these Crowne plaza staff members not only because they fulfilled all my wishes for great service but also because they connected with me on a personal level and showed me that being far from home and family doesn't have to mean being lonley. Max and Timothy were happy to sit down and have a chat with me after I expressed my wish to do so. I felt very welcomed by the Crowne plaza team as a whole but these 2 staff members in particular are what made my stay unforgettable. After this very pleasant experience I'm sure to visit Crowne plaza South again some time in the near future!

I found this location to be perfect t for my meetings as its a 5 minute walk from where I needed to be. On top of the location, the hotel has great staff who go above and beyond to help out customers. I had a few missing points from a stay in Crowne Plaza in a different country but one of the front desk staff helped me sort this out which was such an amazing experience.
Great food and drink options as well which makes it easy to manage a busy day as you don't have to worry about planning for dinner when you come back.

We stayed as a family with our 11 year old son for 3 nights in August. Not our first choice of hotel as we felt it was a bit far out from the centre but it was a last minute trip and we checked reviews on trip advisor first so felt quite confident.
When we arrived we were welcomed by the super friendly staff on the reception desk. Our room wasn’t quite ready so Melane gave us sone drinks vouchers even though we only had to wait ten minutes or so whilst Alessio gave us ideas for where to go and tips on transportation etc.
The room itself was impressive; very spacious with large windows overlooking the canal. The bathroom had a bath and very good sized shower.
The air conditioning was a little slow (the weather was very hot at around 28 degrees outside) so Ramon at the reception desk brought a fan up to the room straight away for us with his apologies that the air con wasn’t cold enough for us, really first class service and hospitality.
Although not in the centre the hotel is about 5 minutes away from the metro which takes ten minutes to get into the centre of Amsterdam so it wasn’t an issue at all.
The hotel is a 4 star but the staff make it a 5 star and they should be congratulated for their constant hard work, nothing was too much trouble for them.
We would definitely return here.

The hotel is modern and very quiet, located very close to Amsterdam South Station, which takes you by metro in 10 minutes to the center and by train in 6 to the airport. The treatment of the staff, phenomenal, attentive to everything. The room for two adults and a girl, very spacious. Breakfast, correct and quite varied. For quality/price, the hotel is unbeatable. Highly recommended to spend a few days in that beautiful city.

Extraordinary experience. We stayed there for 3 nights and all sanitary measures are impecable. staff super friendly, we felt at home. Definitely my place to come back each time in Amsterdam, it is our second time and if there is a third we’ll stay here.
The only thing I would mentioned to improve is the super high priced parking, hotels have forgotten that some families with children come by car. And with COVID even more as it is safer.
