Detailed Reviews
Very clean and quiet, small, family run hotel within walking distance to the city. The rooms are cleaned daily in a very good manner. Kitchenette and WC, in general the whole room are all recently renovated and properly designed.
All appliances like tv, espresso machine, water heater are state of the art and of high quality brands.
We had a very bright room on top of the building with large windows and a nice view to a canal.
A supermarket is across the street.
The host is very friendly and helpful.
The sign of the house is a bid hidden in the entrance. Our taxi driver had sharp eyes and found it.
I definitely will book again at Amstel Corner Hotel for our next visit to Amsterdam.

We had a great stay and would highly recommend the accommodation. It was a bit of a hybrid between a hotel and an Airbnb as we had a friendly communicative host, we got our own keys at check in and there was a small
Kitchenette with tea and coffee provided which was great. We also had a very clean room, toiletries, a comfy bed and the room was cleaned daily. It was the best of both worlds!

We stayed in the Dream Room at the back looking over the garden. Beautiful colours and furnishings. So close to the team in a really nice neighnourhood. The cleaning staff were very good and the owner was charming and extremely kind.

Due to the pandemic, Americans are still not allowed to travel to Europe. All hotels and flights allowed for changes in dates without penalties, except one. Surprisingly, Amstel Corner Hotel refuses to act in good faith. We paid for our room in full. In normal times, a “non-refundable room” means that you can’t expect a refund just because you change your mind. I am NOT cancelling my reservation nor am I requesting a refund. I simply need to change the dates due to the disruptions caused by the worldwide pandemic, which are clearly out of my control. The room that we booked is, in fact, available on the new dates. The hotel keep my money and there is nothing they intend to do. They wouldn’t even accept a change for a fee. This is unacceptable and honestly very sad that they behaved this way.

We stayed in the family room in the basement level. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. Kitchenette was convenient. Easy walking distance to tourist attractions and restaurants. Nice neighbourhood along the canal. The owner was very helpful and friendly.

This is the second time myself and my partner have stayed at Amstel Corner. The owner Fokko is fantastic and really looks after you along with the housekeepers Maria who is lovely and puts a smile on your face. We stayed in the Honeymoon suite and even got to experience the Dream Room. Both rooms were amazing but we loved the Honeymoon suite and it was the perfect room to begin our holiday! You have a really nice view looking out and a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. We had a fantastic time and we are looking forward to return again.

I stayed in the duke suite with my partner in october 2011. We got best of both worlds as it was more like an appartment; no going for breakfast befoe 10am, having a kitchenette etc.. yet we were given fresh towels so it felt like a hotel in a way.
location: We never walked into the city centre as it was too far when you will already do a lot of walking in amsterdam as it is. but the tram was a 5 min walk and very easy to use. There is a very cheap supermarket over the road, a coffee shop and a lovely restaurand and takeaway at the end of the road.
Room: Very big! the kitchen had everything u need appart from a toaster, very handy to have a table and sofa. and a beautiful view out of the window that opens properly! The heating was always on in the mornings, so although the floor is tiled, its stil very warm.
En-suit Bathroom: nice big shower, very nicely done.
over all a great stay and you get the feel of very steep stairs an amsterdam trait. the only thing i could suggest would be to have another mirror in the bedroom as there was only one in the toilet. but the tv was perfect! big flat sreen tv love it!

Returned yesterday after 3 nights in the 'Dukes Suite' at the Amstel Corner with my wife and 6yr old daughter.
On arrival (which was quite late), we were met by Fokko, the owner, who showed us to our room which is at the very top of the building, up some very steep, narrow stairs, which is pretty standard for Amsterdam. We never saw him again but were able to stay in touch by email or text if necessary.
We loved the room. It has a nice view over the Amstel river, is modern, clean and well equipped with an induction hob, combi microwave, fridge and plenty of plates, cups, utensils etc. I particularly appreciated the coffee machine in the morning. It also has a HDTV and a decent stereo system if you wanted to use them. There was supposed to be a DVD player but it never materialised.
The double bed was comfortable but on the soft side, as was the single bed for the little one. There is lots of contemporary lighting around the room and the on-suite shower room is modern and spotless.
The only downside we found is that the room is facing a busy road and the traffic noise was pretty loud and went on until late. Although I've got to say it never disturbed the little one, who slept like a log.
There are tram stops within 150m which take you to the main spots of Dam and Rembrant Square, all the way down Central Station and vice versa. You can also take a walk, following the Amstel river, down to the above areas. It's a fair distance but there are plenty of opportunities to stop for coffee en-route and take time to appreciate the beautiful buildings of Amsterdam. FYI we jumped in a taxi from central station and it cost 16 euro.
On our last day, check out was 1100 however we were able to leave bags at the hotel to be picked up later as our flight was not until 2120. Great service.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying at the Amstel Corner again.

Stayed here for 3 nights and after staying in a lot of previous hotels really appreciated the large spacious room the fact you could open your window, the view over the canal, the comfortable bed and the large bathroom.
The owner of the hotel took us out on his little boat which was a real highlight of our trip - a personalized trip of the beautiful canals with champagne in hand was the perfect ending to a lovely memorable stay.
It does have very steep steps but that is the way the house are.

Amstel Corner is located in a peaceful district away from busy streets and crowds, with convenient access to trams and other public transit. It is within 10 minutes walk from local shops like Lidl, Albert Heijn and a laudatory. The kitchen (including induction cooker, multi-function microwave oven, kettle, coffee-machine and cookwares etc) in the Duke suite is just what we needed. Duke Suite is on the top floor with nice view of canals.

Amstel Corner is between central station and Amstel station. Walking distance 20 minutes, but you can also take subway to Weesperplein station, or tha tram 4. We are very central located towards most of the attractions
