The Postillion Hotel Amsterdam garners praise for its modern amenities and eco-friendly options, although opinions on the high-tech features are mixed, with some guests finding them inconvenient. The hotel boasts a clean and modern atmosphere with special touches that enhance the guest experience on special occasions. While the staff is often commended for their friendliness, there have been some mixed reviews regarding service responsiveness.
Guests appreciate the hotel's spotless rooms, but some have concerns about the comfort level of the beds. The value proposition is a point of contention, as some reviewers feel the pricing is high and note unexpected charges. Nevertheless, the hotel's location is popular for its ease of access to the metro and the city center.

Detailed Reviews
Staff were all really helpful and friendly. Hotel itself is clean and lovely inside, to all modern and based in what seems to be a business district. All rooms have an iPad to open/close the black out curtains and use the tv in the bedroom Shower has good pressure and two heads - one overhead and another to wash which is ideal for if you don’t want to get your hair wet.
Metro (overamstel station) is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel down one street, then it’s a ten minute journey to central station. Also mcdonalds is a 4 minute walk I cant comment on the restaurant but the prices were very expensive in comparison to restaurants in the area(its a cashless hotel)
I would recommend getting metro tickets for 3 days it just made travelling less hassle plenty of metro stations.
We would recommend this hotel and would stay again in the future.

we book the room directly from the website and we stayed in the hotel during Christmas weekend for 3 nights from 23 - 26 Dec 2022 in a suite room at the 19th floor. the hotel ist very nice and the room has very modern digital equipment.
it is may be just little details, however for people who pay for a suite room, may be they will have more expectations. the room is nice, clean and spacious with stunning view over the Amstel river. may be in Amsterdam every hotel does not provide complimentary drinking water in the room like in France or Germany. however there is no drinking water in the room. there is Coffee machine and hot water boiler in the room to make coffee and tea, but there are only 2 Coffee capsules und 2 sorts of tea and some sugar with no stick or spoon to mix the sugar.
in the suite room we had, the bathroom is connected to the bedroom and the toilet is separated in the living room area that I find it good. the bathroom is nice with 2 washbasins, but the quantity of water for rain shower was not that good. toilet is separated from the bathroom which is located near the door of the room but there is no mirror, no soap and no towel in the toilet provided, so you have to go again to the bathroom to wash your hands or have your own initiative to bring the towel and soap to the toilet to wash your hands.
during our stay it was raining few days, but I was not even sure that the hotel has umbrella that the guests can borrow.
it is a cashfree hotel, they do not accept cash money, only card.
however, the staffs in receptions and restaurant are very nice and friendly that make our stay so comfortable. the breakfast is nice with enough choices, reasonable parking fee for the car, location near highway and walking distance to the Metro station which reach city center in 10 minutes.
overall it was a good stay.

Dear AISaceIAN, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you had a good experience with the staff in our hotel. Regarding your assesment of the room itself, we do not offer bottles of water inside the room, because it is possible to drink water straight from the tap. However, if you would still prefer bottled water, we sell bottled water at the shop at the front office. If you ever need any more teabags or coffeecups, you can always call the front office, as we would gladly bring you anything you need. As for the bathroom, we will try to see if we can make an improvement on the design. We will try to improve on our facilities with the help of your feedback. Kind regards, Lilan Front Office Postillion Hotel Amsterdam

This hotel is really clean and comfortable but careful with the options:
- they say Netflix included while there is a maximum number of people that can use it at the same time so you can't really watch Netflix when you are here bc lot of people already use it.
- for the parking, it's included but if you get back to the hotel late, you probably not be able to park.
That's two negative points otherwise it was perfect.
To move you have to take the metro but don't worry you can buy anything at the reception (tickets, velo ect.). It's a really good location near Amsterdam Central and Amsterdam Zuid.
Careful they don't provide samples (cream or soap)!

Dear spacetofeedback, Thank you for your review regarding your stay with us, We are happy to hear that your overall stay was good! I would like to inform you that Netflix has changed their privacy policy, and therefore it is not possible to stream your personal account on a public tv or device. As i can understand the issue regarding the parking, we still are happy to offer our guests free parking in the city of Amsterdam. As these are everywhere very limited, you can also park on the back side of the hotel which is free parking after 19:00 pm. We hope to welcome you back in the near future, Kind Regards, Kim Front Office Supervisor

everything was prefect, super clean. is cashless hotel. there is beautiful restaurant that has rooftop. wi-fi is good, for those that have to work you will have no issue. there is gym. we loved the room, super big, everything is operated by tablet, and toilet lights go off automatically, they also have tv on toilet in case you want to watch news in morning. they offer free parking on availability and also rental of bikes. metro station is 3-5 min walks, depend on your pace. 7 stations to main central station and it comes every 10 min. they have convenience store and there is pizza available 24 hours.

They advertise that if they can't fix something within 15 minutes it's on them....this is not the case. We stayed for 2 nights 21st Feb to 23rd Feb. The room temperature wouldn't increase. I reported this and it was not fixed. I was given a 20% refund off the room not including breakfast and city taxes....so I got a refund of £28 having paid £224. I was given the managers e mail should I not be hapoy with this. I e mailed immediately upon my return and am yet to receive a reply. I have taken to e mailing best western direct. Shame because the hotel itself was nice enough and the staff friendly. I just feel if you are going to boast about being able to fix something within 15 minutes or get your money back then you should most certainly follow through!
Very dissappinted. Would not return unless issue resolved.

Dear lisa362002, Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay with us. From our side we have indeed done everything we could do to solve the issue regarding the room temperature, this is indeed done in 15 minutes. Unfortunately, when it comes on issues where we do not have any power over anymore and which an external company needs to be involved with, this is outside of the 15 minute fix. The climate control is controlled by an external company and in case of this issue we need to call the company which of course will take more time since it is not a small issue. Since the issue was regarding the room we see no need to do a refund for breakfast or city tax. I am glad to hear that my colleague understood your discomfort and offered you a refund to show our sincerely apologize. Besides, i am happy to could assist by mail in one day. I hope my mail found you well and in case of any questions, we are always willing to assist you anytime. Kind Regards, Kim Manager on Duty

Six of us stayed in the hotel for 4 nights from 1st Jan. First impressions were really good. Lovely friendly receptionist who did his best to accommodate us near to each other. The rooms were a good size and everything was controlled by the control panel on the wall. Two TV’s - one in the bathroom! All was good. Unfortunately, housekeeping let the hotel down, one room not being serviced at all and the other two only being serviced once! Don’t recommend the restaurant, extremely expensive with poor quality cuts of meat! I did email the hotel upon our return, however we were blamed for the lack of service and no response regarding the restaurant. Nice hotel for a couple of nights!

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. The rate was a great value for Amsterdam - less than half of what comparable 4 star hotels were going for in the city centre. Yes, the location may not be central, but it's only a very short ride on the metro from everything.
As a Diamond Select member, I was assigned a corner room - room 1501, which was very spacious. Room was spotless. The various controls were interesting. However, the voice controls didn't work in my room.
The bed was extremely comfortable.
Didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that.
The staff members that I encountered were all pleasant.
Overall, great place to stay if you're looking for a nice place yet don't want to pay a lot and can deal with the short ride into the city centre.

We booked this hotel with Eurostar for our trip to Amsterdam. First of all we thought the staff were all very professional and helpful, our room and the hotel in general was very clean, quiet and fresh, the breakfast was excellent as was the Pizza we had in the bar on our first night. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from two Metro stations......there is also a small supermarket a few minutes stroll away. The rooms are very 'high tech' with everything controlled on a console by the bed....a bit much for us being used to old fashioned light switches! The bathroom door was of frosted glass and so if anyone gets up in the middle of the night the light is bright and stays on for five minutes. The one big disappoinment was the Room Service menu which only consisted of a Pizza and a bottle of beer.....we feel a quality hotel like this should offer a better range of food and drink. Having said all that, we very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend.

The hotel and rooms were exactly the same as what you see in the pictures posted here. The room itself was spacious and really comfortable. The decorations like the wallpaper and wall magnets really made me feel like I was in Amsterdam. The hotel is located within a 5-6 minute walk to the nearest metro which isn't that far, but at nighttime the walk isn't ideal. The hotel is located outside of central Amsterdam and it takes around 10-15 minutes by metro/subway to get to the central station which we were fine with and knew when booking with this hotel. Overall, I think this place is a really good value for what you are getting.

OK located hotel with possibilities to walk to the city center in ~30 minutes. The area were however a bit outside of the city center and with a lot of construction sites around it, so not an area to walk in at night. Most of the staff was friendly, and there was a nicely looking restaurant and terrace. My biggest concern with my stay was the cleaning of the room. When I arrived, the room was a bit dusty and the cups for coffee was not entirely clean so I washed them up myself to use them in the morning. After arriving back to the room the following day, the cleaning staff had been there to hang the floor towel, but it did not seem like they did anything else, for example the bed was not made, my used coffee mugs were still there dirty and they did not provide any new ones even though they had added two new capsules for coffee. The following day, they had made the bed and provided new schampoo. I.e. it was a bit random what the cleaning staff did and each day you would not know what they would do. All in all an OK stay but for my next stay I will probably look for something else.

Hi Paul, yes there is a self serve basic shop in the hotel (water, alcohol, snacks and toiletries etc) but it's all cashless so card only.
There is a direct line to the central station.
We travelled further into the city for food, because the subway is right there
