Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West garners praise for its friendly service and prime location near transport links, making Amsterdam's core easily accessible. The modern amenities, including water dispensers, are appreciated by guests, although some feel the rooms and breakfast could be enhanced. Opinions on value are divided, with some citing reasonable rates and others deeming certain amenities overpriced.
While the hotel's cleanliness generally receives positive remarks, a few areas could benefit from better attention. Room experiences vary; they are often found to be spacious and well-equipped, but some guests point out maintenance and design issues.

I see that prices vary enormously, I paid about 150 Euro per night and that is pricey. I found operating the hotel's air conditioning, heating and rain shower a bit difficult. Furthermore, very high glass doors without handles, possibly extremely corona proof and easy to clean and poorly transmittable for coronavirus... I personally thought it was a bit too sterile. You also couldn't easily hang your clothes somewhere.
Breakfast was good (too much sugar products or unhealthy products and that's too tempting I think) but for the muesli breakfast they had such small spoons and such small pots that it annoyed me a bit.
I found dinner a bit limited...Pizza, Hambruger, 2 types of meat (spare ribs with a lot of peppers, unfortunately, which I hate) and 2 pieces of fish. Very few vegetables and almost always fries as a side dish.
In short, too many unhealthy temptations. In that respect, it's a good thing that I don't spend too much time there. Here in the UMCG company restaurant there is almost always a healthy portion of vegetables. For example, I had a lot of chicken and fries but no vegetables. Thought that was a bit meager. At De Gouden Leeuw from DeToekan/Van de Valk they had a huge vegetable and salad bar. That's much better. (this also varies per location).
Location was very convenient. Close to Sloterdijk and the training location. I think dinner and breakfast should be a bit healthier.

Stayed at Park Inn for 3 nights and will probably not book here again unfortunately. We started with the fact that when our taxi arrived at the hotel, no one answered the intercom so the taxi did not enter. The taxi driver was very upset and said that this was a recurring problem at this hotel. The booking went well, very nice people at the reception. When we got into the room itself, there were several things there that made me want to turn the door. There were stains on the floor that came off easily if I took a piece of paper with water, stains on the walls and skirting boards that should also have been washed. But what topped it off was the big CRACK that went right through the bathroom sink! So it was taped on the underside and obviously rarely washed/scrubbed down that crack so it was so used and disgusting. And finally, the shower. I can report that those joints have at one time or another been light grey/white. Now it's only brown. I took the white floor towel and lightly scrubbed the joints and it came off. I took a picture of this and went down to reception and asked if they could please ensure that our bathroom was washed, if we didn't want another room (we could only live with the sink if they could at least wash it). They saw the pictures and agreed that it was not good and should fix it. Several hours later we returned and could not see that anything had been done. They thought it had been washed, but it still looked just as horrible. The person responsible for the washing on that floor came and looked at it and thought that what I pointed out required "deep cleaning" and they couldn't do that now. My opinion is that a bathroom should look like this at all. Then you have to do something about the washing routines. Because they couldn't solve the problem, you moved us to another room. The only difference in the new room was that it didn't have a sink that was cracked. Apart from that, the washing was just as bad there too. But then we couldn't bear to do anything more. Was showering with socks on and a promise to ourselves that we were done with Park Inn.

The Park Inn is within a 5 min walk of the train station and a 6 min train journey into the Centre/15 min train journey to the airport. We bought a 3 day travel pass from the airport so were able to hop on/hop off the trains/buses at our leisure. The hotel is quite large and has a casino attached to it. All the staff were polite and friendly. The rooms are basic and have very poor lighting. The bathroom has a frosted glass door and a frosted panel so there is not much privacy and when the light is on it comes through into the bedroom disturbing whoever is trying to sleep. We were only there for 2 nights so didn't bother getting our room cleaned. However, there is nowhere to hang wet towels. We also only received one English teabag and two sachets of coffee the whole time we were there. Fresh milk isn't provided, only powdered milk. OK in coffee but not so good for tea. The room did have a fridge though but it wasn't very cold. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not. One was hard, the other was almost flat and had to be folded in half. We decided to book breakfast in the hotel as there wasn't much else around but wish we hadn't bothered. It was very poor. On the first morning the hot food was cold. The danish pastries and pancakes were hard. Coffee machine only gave 1/2 cup of coffee. On the second morning we had to wait around for the food to be replenished. No bread for toast, no orange juice. This never got replaced whilst we were there. The bar area is really nice for a relaxing drink in the evening. Prices are very reasonable and no more expensive than the bars in the centre. The lady serving behind the bar (didn't get her name, sorry) was really lovely and gave us complimentary peanuts with our drinks. She even asked if we were allergic to them before hand. On the second evening we had to sit in the dining area as the bar area was full. There were a couple of tables with 'Reserved' on them but were empty the whole time we were in the bar. We would stay again but would have breakfast in the centre.

Response from Hotel Manager, General Manager at Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West
Responded 22 Jan 2025
Dear A Millns, Thank you for writing this detailed review following your experience at our hotel. I am pleased you liked our location, close to Sloterdijk Station, from where you can take a direct train to Amsterdam Central Station and arrive within minutes, and appreciated the attentive service our bar team provided. I will, of course, share your kind words with them. However, I am disappointed to read your comment regarding our breakfast buffet, as we usually get compliments about how delicious and varied it is. I hope you saw the different stations throughout the restaurants, where we offer various items. It can be that an item is finished at one station, whilst it has just been replenished on another. I will, of course, discuss your remarks concerning the quality with our team so that improvements will be made. Furthermore, I am sorry that you encountered some issues in your room, and I will address all your comments during our next management meeting so that action can be taken where necessary. I am grateful for your valuable feedback and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and I hope to get the chance to welcome you again and to provide you with the experience you deserve. Warm regards, Roderick Smith, General Manager Tel: +31 20 242 0000

I stayed @ Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West in September 2024.
This is an excellent property, situated very close to the Sloterdjik Station and Flixbus Stop. Hence its location is extremely convenient and it is very easy to get to the city centre from here.
Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The hotel was very clean and had a very modern design. They provide an option for self-check-in, however for some reason that didn't work for me.
Thanks to my Radisson Rewards membership, I was provided with an upgraded room, which was rather spacious and well-furnished. Unlike most of the hotels in Europe that I have stayed in, they have a water dispenser (at the reception) available to fill up your water bottles so no need to fill those up from the bathroom tap. They also provided water bottles and a welcome snack in the room along with the coffee tray.
The bathroom was also big, decently-supplied and the water pressure was excellent.
The breakfast spread was huge and there were multiple options for vegetarians and vegans which I enjoyed very much.
Overall I had an excellent stay there, it certainly exceeded my expectations. Would love to be back someday.

It is located right next to a train station which in about 20 minutes can take you to the central station of Amsterdam or combined with a tram to take you to your destination. The hotel is modern, tasteful, has all the facilities, the staff is kind and smiling. The room, clean, spacious, aesthetically pleasing, always warm and always with hot water. There are also bath products. The price depends on the time you choose to make the reservation. We found it at a price of over €150/night with breakfast and the reservation was made 4 months in advance. The breakfast is rich. It is worth having dinner at the restaurant, the prices are good and the cuisine is delicious. For fans of games, there is a casino right next door. We had a very nice experience and thank you very much.

The hotel is designed for colors, sometimes something else. We had our rooms on 7. Floor, the yellow hallway. The reception was friendly and helpful, you can still fill your water bottle in the entrance area for traveling with water, which I find very convenient.
The rooms are colorful and clean and you can park super in front of the hotel on weekends or use the hotel's own parking garage. If you arrive by train, there is a train station just opposite the hotel, just a few minutes walk away.
The breakfast was unfortunately not so good quality, bread rolls and croissants were dry and crumbly.
Nevertheless, we would love to check in again on our next Amsterdam stay.

The cleanliness of the room leaves a lot to be desired. Dirt in the shower, toilet and bedroom. Housekeeping also comes into the room at 9am even though the do not disturb sign is hanging outside the door. Location is great, just a few minutes from the train station.

Excellent location. On train it is 10mins, 2 stops from the airport and 5 mins, 1 stop to Amsterdam Central. We bought a travel card that included trains so we could travel as we wanted and this was only £25 for 3 days. Trains are every 5minutes and so much easier than expected. Hotel staff were lovely and really friendly. All you can eat breakfast for 12.50 euros was totally worth it with selection of cereal, yoghurts, fruit, pastries and cooked breakfast. Drinks included as well. We received a free drink during our stay for booking through booking.com Room was clean and had hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again when visiting Amsterdam.

I travel a lot and this has to be the worst place I’ve stayed, not in terms of facilities or location but the treatment and attitude from staff. Checkout was at 12pm, I had my alarm set for 11.30, I had someone burst into my room and shout at 8am, as someone who is still recovering from the trauma of a home break in and suffers with severe anxiety this alone was enough to trigger a panic attack. I had to take medication which makes me extremely tired and after calming down I tried to get another hours sleep as I had a busy day ahead, I was only in Amsterdam for one night! As I finally called down and drifted off the exact same thing happens again, cleaners banging and opening the door at 10.30. I don’t expect any staff to be knocking or entering my room before my checkout time it completely ruined my whole trip as I was exhausted and on edge all day. I addressed the matter as I was leaving the Hotel but I felt so awful that I didn’t have the energy to pursue the matter. The same thing happened to some other guests and they were given free breakfast, I left at 12 and breakfast had already finished. I was offered nothing not even an apology just we’ve sorted this matter with your friends already! They were nothing to do with me. When I got home I emailed the property and their response was that the matter had been sorted and I’d been given breakfast as an apology but that wasn’t me that was some other guests and now they refuse to answer any more questions or arrange some sort of compensation for ruining my trip. The fact I’ve paid £160 odd pounds to be treated this way and have my whole 24 hour trip ruined is disgusting. I never get a break from my kids and was really looking forward to having one night away to relax and it turned into a complete disaster. Worst customer service and treatment of guests ever!!

Good location, next to Sloterdjk station, can easily access by train to airport and Amsterdam city centre, good transport system, reasonable price, daily max rate capped when used same card/Apple Pay for payment. Convenient. Clean hotel, great service at front desk and bar area. Breakfast is good, not much variety though, suggest to add more variety, fried egg as a basic. Overall experience is good.
