We stayed for one night before our flight out of Zurich. It's located about 10-15 min walk from the Rümlang train station. There are not a lot of food options nearby. We only saw Mc Donald's and Subway. The on-site restaurant was good, but the menu was limited. We stayed in a family room, which was basically two connecting rooms, one with a double bed and one with two twin beds. The rooms were modern and had great showers, great blackout blinds/curtains, very comfortable beds, and supportive pillows. They offer scheduled shuttle to the airport for 6 CHF per person, but it was cheaper and more convenient for us to call an Uber.

Our flight was delayed several times and eventually cancelled, so 276 people scrambled to find hotel accommodations near the Zurich airport at the peak of the tourist season. We were able to book a Family Package (connected rooms) for the four of us online, took a 5 minute ride (taxi is a bit less expensive than the hotel shuttle for a family of 4) to the Intercity Hotel, and were quickly settled in to the modern, clean, and comfortable rooms. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; the rooms are modern, clean, safe, and quiet. On suggestion from the front desk we walked 10 minutes to an excellent Italian restaurant (Ristorante Romantica Rümlang), then walked back while watching a spectacular thunderstorm. We all slept well and took the hotel shuttle back to the airport for a successful flight out the next day. We all commented at how our Intercity Hotel stay smoothed out the potentially difficult delay. Now it’s time to work on reimbursement for the cancelled flight!

Spent 4 nights here and loved it. I think the location is perfect - 5 minute walk to Rumlang train station, which is about 15 minutes from Zurich HB. There’s a grocery store directly across the street and a Subway too. McDonald’s is a couple of minutes away, in a neighbouring hotel. The shuttle from the airport is free and runs every hour (at least at the time we landed). I believe they charge 8 CHF per person to go back, which is a bargain. When we left, it was too early for the shuttle and paid 50 CHF for a 5 minute taxi ride to the airport.
We found the rooms to be spacious, bright and most importantly, clean. Loved the water pressure and temperature from the shower! The family room is actually 2 rooms, so you get two bathrooms as well. Considering how expensive Switzerland is, we thought this place was a bargain!
The breakfast buffet was good with decent variety. It can get busy though.
The sauna and steam room were nice surprises, as was the free fooseball table in the lobby!
We found the staff to be excellent - especially Khola and Marius (hope I got those right) at the front desk.
Will definitely stay here again, if we ever go back to Zurich.

Overall, we enjoyed our 2 night stay at Intercity. The room was clean and modern. Bathroom and shower were fantastic. Regret not taking advantage of the dry and steam saunas. Staff was pleasant but felt some were new and needed additional training. Location is close to Rümlang station and will get you to Zurich HB pretty quickly. Like other reviewers have mentioned, there is a McDonalds close by along with Migros Supermarket and Aldi across the street. We shopped Migros and they do carry some grab-n-go prepared foods and fresh bread! There isn't much to do around the hotel. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel is free and from the hotel to the airport costs 8CHF. Also, when booking, I would recommend including the breakfast option if available especially if there's more than 1 person in the room. Otherwise, it's 25CHF per person when purchased in advanced or 27CHF when purchased on the spot. What nonsense!

Is a nice modern business like hotel; it is designed for a night or 2 no more. What got me to reserve this hotel was the proximity to the airport. I am reading reviews saying there was an airport shuttle, it was never offered to us, so we ended up getting a taxi (HUGE mistake in Switzerland). The taxi ride was 40 CHF for a 10 minute ride. When we arrived in Zurich, given that proximity to the airport I figured it would be easy to get there, it is only about a 9-10 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. But that 10 minute walk is not very convenient nor safe: As soon as you get off the train, the station is dark and lonely. I was traveling w/ my dad so I felt ok, but traveling alone I would think twice. Hauling our luggages was an ordeal, the street is a very busy 2way street and no place for pedestrian crossing safely. It wasn't until the next morning I realized there is a pedestrian bridge on the other end, again everything was so dark it was not easily recognizable.
I was trying to save money booking this hotel, learned my lesson. We could have afforded the Hyatt House inside the airport when we add the 40CHF + 50CHF for the breakfast since it was not added on our fare.
I understand it is not the hotel's fault. But, just want to give the real truth to anyone especially a solo traveler of what it means to book this hotel. Is a good size, clean and modern, but if you can get the shuttle (for free if that exists) is a great plus and get the breakfast on your rate as well otherwise paying 25CHF I feel is a bit pricey.

I booked a double room, but at the last moment my companion had to stay at home due to health reasons. At the hotel I was still charged the price for two people, even though I was the only one in the room. The "explanation" I was given made absolutely no sense - it was something along the lines of "it is fixed in the system" or something like that, which was complete nonsense and it was clear that you were only trying to get the most money out of me. The room is the same whether there is one or two people in it, and since I was the only one there, it would be logical, not to mention right and honorable to charge the price for only one person. It is not like you already had some expenses for two people that you had to cover. Adding to this, the responsiveness of your staff is terrible. I booked a shuttle from the airport to the hotel through your website, but my flight was delayed at the last moment. Not my mistake, but the mistake of Swiss airlines (guess it was that famous Swiss punctuality). As soon as I got the notification about the delay, I emailed you asking whether I needed to cancel my shuttle reservation and how (since there was no way to cancel it through the booking form), or to just book a new time slot. Showing again that famous Swiss punctuality, you responded to my email A DAY AFTER I LEFT THE HOTEL. Thanks a lot, that was really helpful. Another thing (as if something else is needed) is that the bathroom fan is too loud and I found no way to switch it off (it stayed on even when the bathroom light was off), so it made sleep impossible.

Follow the sign to the hotels from Rümlang station. It is a short walk to the main road, where you turn right and continue down. You can't miss it. There are a few international brand hotels in the area with a supermarket, McD, and Subway. I picked this hotel to be close to the airport and the city. Zurich HB is only a 15 minute ride away while bus 510 leaves just south of the hotel next to the Migros/gas station and takes about 10 minutes to reach the airport. The hotel looks new and the room is spacious and tidy. The windows keep the airplane noise out very well. It would've been a perfect 5/5 had it not been the very low shower water pressure, which seemed odd since the smaller hotels I stayed in the mountain towns didn't have this problem at all.

Perfect hotel for an overnight layover. They have a shuttle service to and from the airport. Contact the hotel to make arrangements for this. It's free to get to the hotel and was around $9 USD per person to take it back. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the airport, so super convenient. The hotel itself seemed quite new and clean. The room was small but more than adequate for an overnight. Great shower!! They also had breakfast which was good. This seemed like a perfect budget friendly choice and I would highly recommend it for an overnight!

we were placed in this hotel due to a flight cancellation. the room and service are good, but the food offered (for 20 chf) is a awful, at least water (9.50 chf), salad and bread could be included in the price. is this what swiss hospitality is like?
