Cosy hotel with a personal atmosphere. Standard rooms. Extremely quiet downtown location, just 10 minutes walk from the center and train station. Great public transportation in all directions. From the airport take the train S2 or S24 to Zürich Wiedikon (CHF 7.-). The journey takes about 15 minutes. Then go straight into the Schimmelstraße and take the third street on the left (Hallwylstrasse). After 100 meters you will find our hotel on the right side of the street - it’s only 5 minutes walking distance. The easiest way to reach us is by public transportation. From Zurich main station take the tram no. 14 direction Triemli or no. 3 direction Albisrieden and get off at the stop „Stauffacher“. From there, turn left into Stauffacherstrasse and take the second street on the right. Turn into Hallwylstrasse and after approx. 100 m you will see the hotel is on the corner - it´s approx. 5 minutes walking distance.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for five nights in January. A very spacious triple room. Very helpful and friendly staff on reception and in the breakfast room. The breakfast was more than expected and very fresh produce. I was offered an adaptor and hair dryer on checking in and throughout our stay everything was just perfect. Our room had a view over the square. Little chocolate biscuits left each morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. The location is so convenient near the train station and the town centre.

Stayed for 8 nights in October 2021. Clean, tidy, big window, hardwood floors, and the duvet/comforter with keep you roasty-toasty warm and then some. Helpful and friendly staff.
The hotel is within an easy walk of two light rail stops that you can use to get to the main train station, it is also a short walk to a grocery store and there are small, local restaurants less than a minute from the hotel.
Two caveats. One - it does have an elevator, but it is rather small, just enough for two people and two pieces of luggage. Two - if you want big, resort/American style rooms this is not the place for you. But if you want a place to clean up and sleep soundly, then this is a good place.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, the room is clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom is quite tiny but clean and well maintained. It gets quite hot in the summer, but a mini fan was provided in the room and I greatly appreciate that thoughtfulness. There’s a lift in the hotel, so no need to lug my heavy suitcase up the stairs. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It’s only about a 5-7 min to walk to the Zurich Selnau train station and Zurich old town, and less than half an hour away from Zurich airport. This hotel offers really great convenience and value for money in the city!

Decent option in convenient location but very loud construction next door starting at 7 am every day
The rooms are clean, the breakfast was good with a variety of savory/sweet options including vegetarian (and a decent value, I think it was a 12 Swiss franc add-on), and the location is good (neighborhood with shops/restaurants, and close to a metro stop, but also walkable (20 min) from the central station). I had a room with a shared bathroom, which was fine - it was clean and I never had to wait to use the toilet or shower.
Price-wise, Zurich is just expensive, so this was one of the more reasonably priced options in my search. But it still felt expensive for what you got: for example, my room with the shared bathroom was the most expensive hotel room of my 2 weeks in Switzerland and Italy, and all of my other hotel rooms had private bathrooms and some had much larger rooms with more amenities.
But the primary reason for the 3 star rating is the lack of notice about the insanely loud construction going on at the building next door that started at 7 AM sharp every morning. It wasn't just normal construction in the neighborhood noise, it was literally pipes being hammered into the wall IMMEDIATELY next to the bed in my room. Maybe if you get a room on the opposite side of the hotel, the construction noise wouldn't be so bad, but I could hear it in the lobby pretty clearly too, so I think it's pretty much hotelwide.
I know the hotel can't control what the neighboring property owner is doing regarding construction, but they should notify hotel guest (on the website and when checking in) and definitely offer lower rates for the rooms immediately next to the wall where the construction is occurring.

Dear Ellein, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We're pleased to hear that you found our rooms clean and enjoyed the breakfast options, as well as our convenient location. We apologize for the disruption caused by the construction next door; we understand how frustrating that can be. Please know that we will take your suggestion seriously and work on improving our communication about such situations and consider adjusting our rates accordingly. Should you visit us again, we would be happy to offer you a room on the quieter side of the hotel or one with a private bathroom. All the best from Zürich, your Saint Georges Hotel

This was a last minute trip that I needed to stay in Zurich to catch a flight out the next morning. It was excellent!
Firstly, the location is brilliant. It is in a residential area but it is on a great square that has terrific restaurants around (italian, greek, asian, and local). However you can be in the historic centre within a 5 minute walk, so the location is perfect.
Second, the staff are brilliant. Not only did I get written directions and times to get public transport to the airport, but the kind gentlemen then took me outside to show me which direction to go in! Really, they are friendly and super helpful.
Third, the room is simple, but it is brilliantly clean, just spotless. And it is perfectly comfortable, the bed was great and it had a desk and tv.
You put all this together with a great price and you really cannot go wrong with this place, I will definitely be back. I did not eat there, but breakfast was available which is a good bonus.

+1
The Saint Georges Hotel is conveniently located close to the old town and Zurich Wiedikon commuter train station with a direct train to the airport. It's in a residential neighborhood, catty-corner from a charming square with a fountain. The room was kind of big and kind of basic. Bed, nightstand, table, chair, small bookshelf. No safe, no refrigerator, no air conditioner. The toilet and the shower were in the en-suite bathroom, but the sink was in the room. Probably the bathroom is a later addition. That said, many or most rooms don't seem to have bathrooms. WiFi worked OK. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great place, value for money. Breakfast is worth the money too. Reception is friendly and helpful, reached earlier than check in time and they gave us a room first.
Room was clean, so was the bathrooms, really well maintained.
Location is good too as it is about 5 to 7 mins walk to old town. There is an elevator for those with luggages.

The Saint Georges has got a nice character. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome and at home. The place was clean and tidy and our room was comfortable. The location is excellent and walkable to most places you'd want to see. The shared bathroom was not an issue as we never seemed to encounter any other guests even though the hotel was full. The hotel was quiet and had a good vibe. Breakfast was very good.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I booked single room with shared bathroom. And bathroom is not a problem at all, since there are two bathrooms. And also there is separate toilet.
The breakfast CHF 16 is ok and the croissants are delicious. The receptionist and the staff in the restaurant are friendly. The room size is okay and the bed is comfortable. And the location is within walking distance to the center.

No breakfast was not included. Also not sure if reception would be there that late. I would ask them as they may have someone stay on for you if they know you will be late. Hope this helps
