Picked on price as the most important factor, this hotel was just lovely. Not fancy, not plush, not ostentatious, just warm, friendly, comfortable and extremely well located. The included breakfast was generous and the optional extras were reasonably priced. The service was friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit - and very good value.

This hotel was everything I needed for a night in Zurich: clean, quiet, air conditioned, walking distance to both the train station and major tourist attractions, and breakfast included in the price.

It is not an upscale hotel. It is an impeccably run economy hotel.

I saw others complaining about rude staff, but this was not my experience. Everyone I encountered was polite and friendly.

There is a small elevator which is ideal when you are bringing your luggage up and down. Use the stairs otherwise; walking up and down to the fourth floor wasn’t a hardship.

Breakfast was very filling: Choice of hot beverage, cup
of orange juice, basket of assorted breads, cheeses, jams, butter, honey. and a hard boiled egg. I was full for many hours.

Should I return to Zürich again, this is a great way to save money on lodging that can be used for dinners out and sightseeing.

A fabulous little gem of a hotel - basic 2 star and very good value. All amenities including breakfast included. Very clean room and great reception staff including Roger and Frau Schlotter who allowed me to leave my luggage till late in the afternoon. Breakfast basic swiss style rolls, crossants and jam cheese etc. Coffee or tea or hot milk served by a Swiss Serbian lady called soritzer who was very kind and attentive.

The hotel is only 5-10 mins away from Zurich HB station which is convenient if you want to have it as a base for Switzerland. The hotel has a lift so it’s a big plus. The room is clean and tidy. The hotel owners welcomed us warmly. There’s not much selection for breakfast but we didn’t mind.

Cute little 'old school' hotel that is a family owned and managed business. Service/check in is slow but gets things done - friendly and relaxed. Rooms are very old and small, but importantly everything is clean and everything worked. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast was basic but did the job (with cereal, fruit, pastries and tea/coffee). Very handy location, just a 5 min walk to the main train station with shops, cafes and the river nearby for a stroll. For a short 'layover' stay, I would go back again.

Stayed here for 1 night with a friend. Great clean and little hotel in a great location, so close to the main train station. Very friendly and helpful management who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a good one. Would recommend them.

We booked our one night October 2005 stay at the hotel through the train station TI and were pleasantly surprised. It is about 7 mins. walk to the hotel from the station. The hotel is small with friendly staff and comfortable beds. It was an easy five minute stroll to old town where there is a lively nightlife and good restaurants. The breakfast was above average. It was a lucky find considering we arrived in town late in the day with no hotel reservations.

This hotel is centrally located a stone's throw across the Limmat River from the Hauptbahnhof (Zurich's main train station). It is also close to the Swiss National Museum and the restaurants, bars, and shops of Niederdorfstrasse. Moreover, it is not too far away from Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's main shopping throughfare, and the shore of Lake Zurich. The hotel itself is small, very small. Even the elevator is just a little bigger than a sardine tin. The rooms, despite the lack of space, are cozy and comfortable. What the hotel lacks in size, the staff members more than make up for it with their hospitality. Breakfast, included with our room, consisted of rolls and free coffee and juice in the hotel's restaurant (a regular continental breakfast). Eggs and other items are available, but for an extra charge. Overall, it is a nice place to stay where the people will really look after you.

We stayed at the Arlette am Hauptbahnhof in the latter part of May 2006. In a nutshell:

Rooms: Small, but clean and comfortable.

Location: Walking distance to the main attractions of Zurich. Very convenient to the train station. Plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Customer service: Helpful and friendly. English spoken.

Breakfast: Coffee and rolls. Anything in addition is an extra charge.

All in all, I thought it was a good value and would stay here again should I find myself in Zurich.

there is no free airport shuttle. I took a taxi from the airport at a reasonable fare. As their rooms are limited, it’s advisabl that you put up the request for late check-out ASAP.
