This hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from Old Town Zürich and public transportation, and directly across the street from Lake Zürich. It’s worth it to splurge and reserve a premium room with a view of the lake because the view is gorgeous. The hotel itself is quiet and refined, decorated in dark green marble and lots of mirrors, and has a helpful staff and a very nice daily European style breakfast buffet included in the room rate. The rooms include amenities like a comfortable bed, a safe, complimentary water, lots of storage space, and a beautiful, large marble shower with a rain shower head. The only complaint we had about the room was that it was very hot at night for sleeping, with no way to control the room temperature. There is a control on the wall that gives you the impression you can change the temperature, but you really cannot; it just fakes you out. We slept with the balcony door open, which helped cool the room down now in this cool spring period Zurich is having, but good luck in the summer when it’s really hot outside. Additionally, these rooms must have been decorated by someone who decided light is optional in hotel rooms. The main part of the room was dimly lit, without enough light to work on the provided desk. The bathroom is a nightmare, with absolutely no light over the vanity/sink, so you must shave or apply makeup in semi darkness. There’s a light in the shower, but the bathroom is painted dark blue so any tiny amount of light the shower provides is absorbed by the dark paint. Overall, we liked the hotel, but if you need light or a cool room to be able to sleep, you might want to make a different choice.

I think this is a classic old time hotel - elegant, comfortable, clean, welcoming and a great staff and breakfast room. Rooms were well equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel location was superb, a short walking distance to old town and only a couple of blocks from the tram. The view was fabulous. The reason, however, that I am not giving this hotel a 5-star rating is that the AC had been turned off as of Oct 1 but it was still very warm. Thank goodness the desk clerk found me an oscillating fan. But above all, the room was extremely poorly lighted. The lights in the bathroom were "in front" of the mirror, not overhead. It was difficult to use the main mirror for anything much. The mirrors in main sleeping room were decoratively smokey, and were very dark making them difficult to use. Overall, there was insufficient lighting in the room. When we arrived, one of the two low wattage bulbs above the chair was out. It took two days for a replacement which helped some. But even after the replacement, the room was simply too dark in the evening. Great hotel, great location, great everything. But if you like to read, shave, or put on makeup....bring a small light.

Situated on the lake shore this hotel has stunning views all day. Well equiped rooms with small balconies offer a comfortable stay. Hotel is clean and the furnishings are in good order. Our Lake View Junior Suite (#409) was absolutely FABULOUS! It was a bit of a splurge and it was worth every franc. Our suite was huge with four balconies, a nice seating area, a dining table and had a cool art deco vibe. Loved the thoughtful and attractive lighting throughout the suite. EPIC panoramic views of the lake, the promenade and the amazing architecture of the Old Town in the distance. Loved watching the boats and the swans motor by on the lake as well as all of the amazing cars on the streetscape below. SO many Ferrari’s! Beautiful, modern and roomy bathroom clad in marble with large non-slip shower and plenty of counter space. Our king size bed was dreamy with clean smelling crisp bed linens and soft lofty pillows. Plenty of large nice quality bath towels as well. Temp control, water pressure and Wifi were great. Housekeeping was spot on as our suite was beautifully prepared upon our arrival and perfectly refreshed every day. Our suite looked and felt brand new with zero signs of wear and tear. The morning breakfast offering was fresh, plentiful and served in an elegant setting. The entire hotel is a beautiful space. Reception was welcoming, friendly and so helpful. Joyful actually. Thank you Steven and Nina for taking such great care of us!
The location is perfect for a great Zurich city experience. The lake promenade is right across the street where you can walk in both directions for miles; Old Town to the right and beautifully landscaped parks and gardens to the left. You can catch ferry’s and boats easily and there’s a cool lido right across the street if you want to sunbathe and/or swim in the crystal clear lake. It’s a very busy promenade and can be loud with lots of street noise. It does quiet down at night; kinda. Lol. We could easily walk to Old Town, a plethora of yummy restaurants and bars as well as markets and the train station. We took a regional train to Stein am Rhein for a day which was a wonderful and memorable experience. We also pre-arranged our AP transfer from ZRH to the hotel with Grandlane Private Transfers for ~72.00 CHF (~$80usd) and were very pleased with their service.
This was our first visit to Zurich and the beginning of a month long odyssey of Switzerland and northern Italy. We could not have chosen a better starting point. The Bellerive Au Lac was perfect in every way! Enjoy and peace to all!

Hotel situate close lake and center. It has just renovated and interior design is perfect and beautiful. Lots small details.
Staff in recepción and restaurant are very helpful. We ate one dinner in restaurant and it was OK. Menu is not very large.
Hotel room is compact but there was some small lacks. There wasn't hairdryer and bathrobes, only one set towels per person ( we asked extra towels) and one towel was broked.
Also we could not adjust AC. It was automatically and outside was day time +35 degrees. For us was too hot.
Some small things, which need to check.
Situación is perfect. Also if your want to swim in lake, just walking across the street.

Are stay at the ameron with everything we could hope for, comfortable beds great pillows wonderful shower lovely view and outstanding staff. Breakfast was delightful the drinks at the bar or terrific. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel the location is ideal for sight seeing as well as relaxing walks along the lakeside. We loved it.

The location is great, a walking distance to the Opera and shopping areas. I was however disappointed with the hotel. The entrance looks like it's from the 80's with green marble and odd looking doors. The reception area has the same odd look. However, the restaurant and bar have a very nice looking decor - I wondered if they had run out of money with the refurbishment and could not complete the lobby.
The room had a very nice esthetic and really nice bathroom, which was clearly designed for women with lots of counter space - great job with this. However, the bed was atrocious, you can feel every single box spring, it was so hard. The pillows were way too soft. My room was clearly above the restaurant (I was on the first floor) and I could hear a blender every few minutes - both at night and in the morning! So impossible to sleep in when you are woken up with a blender sound first thing in the morning. Housekeeping did not really care about the early hours. When you pay 300 CHF a night, you expect a good night of sleep, which I clearly did not get.
The breakfast was however good.

Rooms, breakfast and quality of staff were sub par and certainly not in line with the pricing. Storage for clothing was too small (we had two rooms, for three and stil had to keep our clothes in our suitcases). The breakfast staff refused to fill up bakery as “people ate too much”, juice, coffee machines were empty and malfunctioning more often than not. Cheese & charcuterie was messy too. The reception clerk refused to believe me that my room card malfunctioned… etc …, there were other mishaps that I would happily ignore in a different price category

Dark room on 1st floor looking out to the side street. Set up for wheel chair guests but rented to people just passing through. Its ok and just a bed BUT not really value for money. If you check in and they give you a room on the first floor say NO. It’s basically what they can’t rent to others Staff do their best and food in the restaurant is good but expensive

The Ameron Bellerive au Lac is a very pleasant hotel across the road from Lake Zűrich. It is within short walking distance of the Opera House which was the main reason for my stay. My room was very comfortable with a balcony for sitting out and a complimentary minibar with drinks and snacks. On checking in I had a few requests that were met in a friendly and helpful way by the housekeeping staff who brought me a kettle for boiling water for tea and showed me how to connect to the speaker system. I experienced problems communicating with Reception through the in room iPad telephone system, but overall the hotel met my expectations and I would definitely recommend staying there. It is expensive, but offers guests a very comfortable stay.

according to my experience , they don't have A/C and just send fan t your room , if e concern the temperature in June and you are sensitive to hot days i recommend to change the hotel , nearby the hotel is other one witch seems that is in better situation and more convenient. other point is rooms view , most of them don't have view from lake .
Across the street on the lake side is an open-air casual restaurant (brats, etc.) called Pumpstation. We found it our first night, jet lagged and were happy to sit outside with a good Swiss crowd! There is a grocery store within a few blocks away from the lake that has full line beverages, snacks. The front desk can help you find it.
There are more places to choose from in the Zurich area.
