We stayed at Bodmi in February 2024 with our two daughters (5 and 2) for skiing. Already the reception was very warm, we felt immediately very welcome. The family room was very cozy and tastefully decorated, of course everything bicobello clean. The kitchen was excellent, we ate at the hotel every night. The breakfast buffet was also very fine with local specialties.
Other Unpacked were the burger cart outside by the slopes and the fact that the Bodmi is sort of in the middle of a mini ski resort with a Swiss ski school. It has 2 small lifts (carpet and platform lift), but for Beginners it is perfect. Our kids both learned to ski there, the older one in ski school, the smaller one with us. You just have to stumble out of the hotel and then you are already on the slopes. Ski rental etc. is also right on site. The older daughter still raves about the great ski instructor.
In general, the hotel is very child friendly, our (and other) kids explored the hotel after dinner and the staff was very understanding and friendly - not a matter of course :) The elder daughter was even allowed to help in the reception (although "helping" may be a bit much said, at least she was allowed to paint there and felt at ease)!
We will definitely come back here, we loved it!

Fantastic hotel. First off nice size room with balcony. They also have a very good restaurant (the schnitzel was really, really good) where we had breakfast every morning & two dinners. Due to weather we only sat outside the first day and as you can see by my picture you can't beat the view. Staff is great. We also took advantage of their laundry service. Maybe a little expensive but it was worth it. The only downside to the place is that it's a pretty good hike uphill from town. If you have a car (we didn't) or don't mind hiking (we don't) then it's not a big deal. There is a bus stop about 50 yards away from the hotel which takes you into town. Problem with that however is it stops fairly early in the evening. So one night after having dinner in town we had to hike back up in the dark & the rain. Bottom line is you need to stay at this wonderful place.

Dear Explore18860794214, thank you for your review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We will pass on the compliments to our kitchen. :) Our location is both an advantage and a disadvantage. But you will be rewarded with a much better view than in a hotel in the village. Unfortunately, we have no influence on the bus times. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best regards, Hotel Bodmi

Das Bodmi is a queit and very nice hotel on the Bodmi Alp with fantastic views on the Eiger and other mountains. The rooms are spacious. A busstop is very nearby. From the hotel you can walk (little bit steep) to the cable car station of First.

The service was attentive, friendly, and Swiss-superb throughout. The location perfect (a quick walk uphill from city center, close but far enough to be amidst the summer mountain flowers), and the room rustic and very comfortable (our “non-view” family room had jaw dropping balcony views of the Mattenburg and Wetterhorn). The patio was the perfect place for an after hike bier or spritz, and the restaurant (for both dinner and included breakfast) was phenomenal, even our childrens’ requisite schnitzel was special. We love Das Bodmi!
We didn’t take advantage of the spa… that’s on us, not Das Bodmi
We will absolutely be back!

wonderful view of the stunning mountain landscape of Grindelwald. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an elevated location, but you can walk to the center in about 5-10 minutes. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace with this view is worth a visit. We enjoyed the trip very much and we will definitely repeat it

It is a fantastic property with spacious, clean rooms. Breakfast was delicious, with a variety of nutritious food. The views are breathtaking. The hotel is only a short drive from the main street of Grindelwald. Everything about this hotel was absolutely perfect.

Rick Steves omits Grindelwald from his travel book as it is kind of a package tour place, but Das Bodmi is a few miles out of town, with a meadow and an an alp in front of it, out of the fray. The staff is super helpful, and dinners are very nice. It seem to attract a Saudi clientele. Easily reached by bus from just a block from the train station, and an easy 10 minute downhill walk back to the train for excursions. Corner rooms in the back avoid noise from neighbors. A welcoming glass of wine on the terrace is offered at check-in.

The Hotel ist about 15 min walk from Grindelwald center (steep) and very calm! We had an appartment which is big with kitchenett and big balcony. The Beds are ok, but we couldnt sleep very good as they make a lot of noise when turning. Also the Bathroom could be renovated as the Shower is inside the Bathtub with a simple curtain and the light needed to be repaired (which was not done oin time). Breakfast was good but you have to order especially Omelett or Latte Machiatto which was much better than the normal coffee! Sauna is very good and needs to be reserved in advance. Quite disappointing that it was not possible Monday and Tuesday as there is not much stuff available because of Corona Effects (as the Restaurant).

The most amazing views! It was smack in the Bodmi Arena, with the gondolas passing over our roof, and you see the paragliders land outside your balcony. At night we would sit at the terrace, have some food and wine and wait for the changing colors on the Eiger as sunset comes.

We only ate in the restaurant but it was one of the biggest meals we have been served in Switzerland. The staff were very kind and gracious to us and let us order, eat and drink at our own pace. They were very considerate to me (I was not skiing or snowboarding) and let me stay in out of the cold. Absolutely wonderful people. Would highly recommend.
