We came to visit Luzern faustnet "carnival" the hotel location is perfect a 10 minute walk from the train station, 5 minute walk to the lake and 5 minute to the centre. The room was fine with a shower, kettle and a free breakfast. The breakfast was fine plenty to eat. The hotel also offers unlimited free coffee in a seated area next to the reception, which will save you a fortune as coffee is very expensive in Switzerland. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed at Ibis Styles Luzern City in October with my family. We enjoyed our stay.

The property is conveniently located. Tram stops are very near and so is the iconic Lion Monument. Upon arrival, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They were happy to guide us about the city, the local transport and even train timings.

The hotel was very clean, rooms were spacious and ventilated.

The only point of improvement that I would like to suggest is that they should provide complementary water on a daily basis. Currently, they provide only 1 half-litre water bottle (irrespective of the number of guests in a room) on a complimentary basis only on the first day.

We liked their breakfast spread. Although as they don't have a restaurant, there weren't any hot dishes specially for vegetarians/vegans. However, the breakfast was still very good and the breakfast area was also very spacious, they also provided a high chair for our infant daughter. Since they don't have a restaurant so you cannot have your lunch and dinner in the hotel, however, we found a nice restaurant near the hotel itself. Although they do have a vending machine so you can still have a snack anytime you like.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return someday.

Very welcoming check in process, sand the staff speak several languages. Our room on the 4th floor was cool due to excellent air conditioning. However it had a very strange smell which we could not identify so we kept the windows open for some time. The smell did not go away though. The bed was very springy, rather like sleeping on a trampoline but clean and comfortable. Separate bathroom and toilet in the room, small desk and one chair. You couldn’t really use the desk because the TV crowded you out. There was a kettle, two cups and two herbal teas, which is great but I think it is usual to provide coffee too? It didn’t bother us. The shower was fine, remember your shower gel as there was only a dispenser with conditioning shampoo inside the shower. Plenty of hot water. Large closet and a safe.
Internet reliability good.
Breakfast is included and there was a large selection with 3-4 cereals, yogurt, ordinary milk, diluted juices, good coffee, a few hot dishes (eggs, sausage, bacon) , bread and pastries, good selection of cold cuts and salad veggies. The restaurant was not a place to relax, all hard surfaces and a high ceiling so the acoustics were not pleasant. We noticed a lot of clattering and even some breaking of dishes, which turned out to come from the person tidying the tables. She couldn’t, for some reason, even straighten the buffet without hammering the cutlery against the dishes. We escaped up to our room with an extra coffee and finished planning our day on the trampoline.

We stayed at this hotel for a 4 night stay for a city break in Lucern and surrounding area.
I would definitely recommend it as one to stay at.
It’s a good 10 minute walk out of the train station, across the bridge just outside and once over the other side you are there in 5 minutes.
The hotel is situated in a quite side street, but within 3 minutes you are back at the lake, or if you take the side streets, you will be in the town in 4 mins and the historic town 3-4 minutes after that - it really is a great location, and within moments of the lion monument and the glacier gardens.
Once settled in, we took the lift as we had the 5th floor and a great balcony, the room we had was good size with a TV with some english channels, a kettle, and a nice size bathroom. The free wifi was great whenever we used it and we had no issues with connection.
We were also given a city pass by the reception staff which allows free travel in busses and trams in the area. The bus (there is stop right by the hotel) run every 7 minutes back to the train station which is also the central bus station, and from there you can go anywhere.
The breakfast buffet was generous and set you up for the day This consisted of scrambled eggs, small sausages, pancakes, boiled eggs, variety of cereals, toast, variety of jams, breads, pastries, croissants, pain au chocolate, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, meats and cheeses, fruit juices, teas and coffee ... a generous buffet and a very enjoyable one.
The hotel also has complimentary twinnings teas and coffees in reception.
The is a luggage safe storage room and the rest rooms have a separate area for you to change and freshen up in if you have a late flight home.
The staff cannot do enough to help you, and nothing is too much trouble. Sara was especially helpful and very friendly.
I would recommend this hotel for staying in, for convenience, price and brilliant customer service.
Thanks for a great stay :)

We stayed there one night. Room 516 was very quiet. Beds very comfortable. AC worked very well.
We didn’t want to take our breakfast in the dining room (because of COVID 19) so they prepared a very generous take-out breakfast for us in a paper bag that we could take up into the room.
Extra mention deserves the young man at the reception for his efficient and extra ordinarily friendly manner.
Besides that the hotel is in a very convenient location.
Can only recommend!

Overall this hotel deserves a 4 star. 2 stars less for the guy named "THOMAS" at the FRONT desk. Yes highlighting the word front because they are the main people responsible for everything good or bad at a hotel & someone like him being a part of team is a big NO NO. (Being a director/partner & ceo of a hospital with a staff of over 100 people i think i know a thing or 2 about service industry.) Team Ibis he is ruining your reputaion & this cozy, beautifully located and clean property. ( I usually don't negatively pick point someone or give bad reviews but this one is a exception & you will know why)
Service is what changes the expereince when staying at hotel.

SO the incident goes like this:- The lady who checked me in was warm, polite and did her job like it should be done the guy Thomas was next to her & he was talking to a guest in room on phone & i could overhear him being very loud and rude to the guest on phone regarding something i obviously thought that a guest must have did something or spoken badly for him to react and talk in this manner to a guest.
But after an hour of checking in, settling ourselves in the room when we were going out to explore the city i casually asked a staff member standing at front desk very casually and in general that is their a mini bar or a refrigerator in the room? This guy Thomas for no reason intervened in the conversation & very loudely, rudely replied " No thier is no mini bar or a refrigerator in the room" I was like wooo that came out of nowhere specially when the question was not even asked to him. Trust me if i was not with my wife and baby i would have shown him his place right their at very moment but i calmed myself down in my head and ignored ONLY so my family dosent have to spoil their mood & vacation.

Now the many good things about this property
1) Excellent location, many restaurants, tourist spots and specially the tram/bus stop is at less than aminute walk.
2) Breakfast spread was of good quality & staff their was very nice all 3 days, they even extend breakfast timings by an hour on weekends which is nice. (A few more vegetarian options could be added)
3) Rooms & overall hotel is very are clean. Rooms are spacious enough & housekeeping made the room comfy, clean everyday after we left.
Overall its a more than value for money hotel and definitely worht when in Luzern. Just avoid interacting with that guy Thomas so you dont loose your cool or turn your good day into a bad one :P (if ibis management still continues keeping such a staff which will be a let down to themselves)

We were pleasantly surprised as we checked in & received a warm welcome from Park the charming receptionis who gave us all the information we needed plus the free travel card to use during our stay. Our room on the 4th floor was bright & cheery with twin beds, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, a good sized bathroom with towells, shower gel , shampoo& plenty of hot water. The room was spotlessly clean, warm & looked out onto a courtyard, very quiet too.Breakfast was a varied selection of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yoghurts, along with eggs, scrambled & boiled, bacon , sausages, cold meats & cheeses, various breads & pastrties. Free tea, coffee was available from the breakfast room throughout the day which was always very welcome on our return from the cold wet weather.
The location was perfect very close to the centre of town, restaurants, shops & all transport links.
We were very happy we chose this hotel & will definitely be back again.

First time at this hotel and like many on here we chose it for it’s good location.
The first thing you see on your way to your room are
The public area carpets, jazzy and modern but filthy and stained (hire a $20 carpet cleaner for gods sake!!) which straightaway gives a feeling of angst about the cleanliness of the room.

I wholeheartedly agree that the rooms have a student dorm feel - woodwork roughly painted, with paint on door handles etc, black mould in the bathroom with cracked silverwear etc and the wallpaper is on its 10th coat of white paint.
Pillows lumpy and quilts bobbly…. You get my drift…

Why this is an ibis “styles” I have no idea. It has about as much style as an acrylic cardi washed at 90 degrees.

The breakfast room is soulless and although there is plenty, the eggs and sausage were stone cold.

There is no bar area here, just a vending machine.

In summary, you will find much better places to stay in Lucerne for the same money.

Nothing resembled the photos. Room allocated was small, with less than double size bed in corner against walls, only one bedlamp and would have to climb over each other. Booking was for king bed. Walking space taken up by old fans, nowhere to put suitcases. Carpet was dirty, furniture chipped, no fridge, no TV and stale smelling. They moved us to larger room with badly stained carpet, three old style fans of different models. The bathroom had bits falling off, the metal soap holder fell off, the towel rain fell down and tiles were mouldy. Reception girls were mostly outside smoking you needed to wait for them to finish for help

I don't seem to recall seeing a luggage room. However, there is a staff room behind reception. Not sure, if that works as a luggage room. By the way, if you are arriving by train and want to tour around before checking into the hotel, there are paid luggage storages available at the railway platform itself so you can consider that.

Please: Is there a parking nearby? How much does it cost?
Lucerne, Switzerland1 helpful vote
Thank you for your message!. We do not have any parking spaces which belong to the hotel. However, there are two car parks a few walking minutes away from the hotel, which are open 24 hours per day. The charge for 24 hours is approximately 27 CHF for the City Parking and 50 CHF for the Löwencenter. There is also public parking on the road around the hotel. The parking fields do have a white line and a number. For those we have parking tickets for our guests for 24 hours for 20.- (incl. service charge) Swiss Francs. The parking tickets are available at the reception. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again. Kind regards, S. Samil Benli - General Manager
