We (= me and my then boyfriend, now husband) went to this B&B in September 2009. Quite some time ago already, but we loved it so much, that I wanted to write a review even after all these years.

If you want to visit Firenze, this is the place you want to stay, at least, when you have a car at your disposal. Spacious room, beautiful authentic furniture, nice bathroom, all clean. Good breakfast, served in the garden on sunny days. Quiet location, very helpful and friendly host. As he moved from the UK to Italy, he speaks English as well as Italian perfectly, which comes in handy.

Use your car to drive to Fiesole (look out where to park, the host can help you with this), then take the bus to Firenze on the main square. The busses drive frequently, and until quite late at night, you can pick up the timetable at the grand station in Firenze. Tickets are for sale at the station or in a 'tabaccheria'. (Don't buy them on the bus, then they are almost double in price)

You should also try the small 'trattoria' nearby the B&B. I think it's called 'La casa del prosciutto', but I'm not sure. Ask the host of the B&b about it, he will explain. It's a walk of less then 5 minutes from the B&B, they serve good wines and excellent food. Very friendly staff. We were told they are famous for their 'bistecca fiorentina', so we tried it and loved it. Just one thing to look out for: the menu mentions a price per 100 grammes, but the 1-person-portion is... 500 grammes. :-) For two people, you get 800 grammes. But when you ask if you can have a single portion to eat with two, they don't make a problem of it. So it's really up to you.

Total rustic charm. Just three double guest rooms with en suite bathroom and no TV or radio to spoil the country feel. If you are looking for the facilities of a posh hotel this is not for you, but if you love fantastic scenery, great hospitality with a friendly family feel, an enormous outside area in which to relax, clean well looked after rooms, and comfortable beds, then this is for you. Breakfast, eaten in your room or outside if weather permits, is cereal, rolls/bread, croisants, butter, jam, yoghurts, and tea or coffee is certainly sufficient to set you up for the day.
There is a Tratiatore just 100 metres away for evening meals. It serves well priced, well prepared, typical food of the area. Be advised book, it's always busy as people seem to travel to eat there.
Florence is just a short drive away and even closer, at about 6 kms, the small town of Fiasole is great to walk around. All in all if, like me and my wife, you like to get away from the typical "this could be anywhere" hotel this is for you.
Thank Lookwell

Of our 10 day vacation in Italy, this B & B, was the highlight- It is beautiful- everything you ever dreamed of- and the host was truly exceedingly gracious! The room was spacious, clean and gorgeous and the surroundings were phenomenal- I could not recommend this place any more highly- we loved our too short visit there! Florence is extrememly accessible- (we were driving a rental) and it was quite easy to find! We loved it there and our only regret is not being able to have stayed longer!

Stay here instead! We spent two nights at Torre di Buiano outside of Fiesole. It's on the hill overlooking Florence and the surrounding Tuscany hills. Absolutely beautiful B&B that has only three guest rooms, but concentrates all attention to every detail in those rooms. We had the suite, which included a separate bedroom for one more person. Our room was decorated in a soothing yellow and gold washing on the walls, along with a white bedspread on a lovely wicker bed. The shuttered window opened to the grapevine below and gave us a nice view of the surrounding vineyard. One lovely addition--the bath towels had the most delicate hint of lavender scent that could only come from washing them with actual lavender. Our hosts were a charming British-born man, Antony, and his lovely Italian wife, Elisabetta. We were fed a wonderful breakfast, had our own private bathroom, and paid under $100 euro for the night. It was a terrific place and a short drive to Fiesole, where one can catch the local bus down to Florence for $1 euro each way.
