Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

We were driving and traffic in Florence is always a nightmare. However, we had gotten good directions from the hotel staff, had a good map and knew that we could drive the half block on the pedestrian via Calzaiuoli and pull into the little vicolo degli Adimari and up to the

Location, location, location. Beyond that, we weren't very impressed. Our room was on same floor as reception and was dated. Tried to open the window for fresh air to discover an alley under construction that smelled terrible. Floors were clean but walls stained and dirty. Air

I have stayed here twice and would thoroughly recommend this location. It is literally 20 metres to the Duomo. Room 302 and 303 have a view of the Duomo and you can hear the magnificent bells. Breakfast is nice and so too are the rooms.

We stayed here one night while in Florence. Central location close to the grand dome. A little hard to find, but once we were there it was fabulous. Easy to go to all of the attractions in the city. Rooms were clean and amazingly quiet.

Dear Susanregi, The train station (Santa Maria Novella) is not far from the Hotel, so you can walk: it would be about 10-15 minutes with the luggage. If you wish to use the bus you can use number 22, and get down in VIA VECCHIETTI. Then you have to walk another 5 minutes to reach the Hotel. There are no buses that go directly from the station to where we are, in any case you would have to walk for a few minutes. The only way to reach us directly without having to walk would be a taxi. Thank you for your question, if you have any other feel free to contact us anytime (via email it's better). Best regards, Andre Hotel Bigallo

Dear Laura, There have been already a few replies by other TripAdvisor users, but we would like to add something more precise. The bells start ringing at 7 AM, and the last time they ring is 10 PM. This timetable was officially established by the diocese of Florence a few years ago. They might ring later or earlier on special occasions such as Christmas or other holidays, but on all the other days of the year they ring during the scheduled time. We hope this helped. Best regards, Andre Hotel Bigallo

Dear Grecians6, Thank you for your question. The garage is located in Via del Giglio nr. 24/red, it is not too far from the Hotel, which is in Vicolo degli Adimari nr. 2 (about 5 minutes on foot). You can also drive directly to the Hotel and leave the car in front of the entrance, and then we will call the garage: a driver will come to pick up the car. We would like to inform you that we are located at the third floor of an old building, and that we have an elevator to reach the third floor, but it is not very big and you have to climb a few steps (about 5) to reach the elevator. We prefer to inform our you advance about this, in case your mother has trouble climbing steps. If you have any questions, feel free to email us anytime. Best regards, Andre Hotel Bigallo
