Massimo and daughter Sara have run this family owned hotel for years - stayed there 12 years ago and happy to have stayed again, There hospitality and service is second to none - quaint hotel with clean rooms and a very good breakfast. Location is excellent and walking distance to all major florence attractions. Sara organsied in advance tickets for us to visit the Accedemia gallery so we didnt have to queue - we were a family of 11 and all thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful service and helpfulness of Sara and Massimo - good old fashioned service that is very hard to find elsewhere these days - love the Hotel Albion - my hotel of choice anytime I am in Florence
Although it is a little away from the centre of Florence, it is a great location if you want to pick up a rental car as it is just down the street. Hotel was very clean, Air conditioning worked well. Staff very friendly and helpful for restaurant recommendations and bookings. Good breakfast.
We were traveling as a family and have been to Florence a few times. It was our first time staying at Hotel Albion, and we found it to be a really lovely and comfortable space. It is located within short walking distance of major landmarks so we never had to walk more than 15-20min to where we wanted to go. Staff were courteous and responsive, and a good breakfast was provided each morning. Rooms are cozy and well-air conditioned during the summer (very important as Florence can get incredibly hot). The walls are covered in artwork and there is a small library of books for guests to enjoy. Overall we thought it was very comfortable and a great value. My family had a wonderful stay and we definitely recommend Albion to anyone traveling through Florence.
I have stayed at the Hotel Albion twice now, once in winter and once in summer. The hotel is a quirky, art-filled delight, with rooms named after famous female artists and visitors to Florence. The family that runs the hotel (and their staff!) go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. In an older building on the edge of historic Florence (but within easy walking distance), each room is unique, but offers a comfortable bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, hooks for hanging clothes, television, A/C and heat, mini refrigerator, and a desk with hot pot and assorted teas and coffees to enjoy after a day visiting Florence. One of the larger rooms I stayed in also included a sitting area. The breakfasts at the Albion are wonderful, with warm croissants and assorted bakery treats, protein options (like yogurt, ham and cheese, or boiled eggs), and coffees and teas to suit your mood. The dining room is a symphony of colorful artworks to tickle the imagination while you eat and plan your day's activities. If you are expecting brand-new, state-of-the-art facilities, this is not the place for you. But if you want to be transported back to an era of the family-run pensione, I highly recommend the Albion as a perfect spot. It is just a short walk from the Arno and the historic center of Florence, and it is also in a growing neighborhood with an international flair. I hope to stay again soon!…
This place has average rooms, average price, but what makes it really stand out, are the great friendly people running it You get such a warm feeling with them - they go out of their way to make sure you have a good time, even the late late shift manager Bed was comfortable enough, but they should probably do a mattress upgrade sometime Location is excellent
