I could not have been happier with the choice my girlfriend and I made on where to stay for our three day trip to Florence. From the moment we walked across the Piazza to the front door of Grand Hotel Minerva we felt relaxed and "on vacation." We were upgraded to an incredible s

Dear Lanny G, we are truly happy to have contributed to a successful Florence experience. Our city has a lot to give and we believe our hotel is situated in a strategic position to enjoy it at its best. I've been working here almost twenty years now, but getting to the rooftop and soaking up the views from there is still a thrilling emotion even to me. You must come back and visit us again when the pool will be operating (during the recent thorough renovation of the hotel we managed to heat its water so that it is operational from April to October). We look forward to welcoming you and your girlfriend back soon. With my kindest regards, Filippo Burroni - General Manager

We had a 6 day trip to Florence and chose this hotel as it had a rooftop pool, is close to all the main sights, railway station and located in a traffic-free square.

The Grand Hotel Minerva is really stunning with excellently appointed rooms (although we would have appreciated

Dear Linda S, thank you for your kind words of appreciation. We are truly happy to know we contributed to a pleasant Florence experience. Please accept our apologies for substandard service at the rooftop bar. At the beginning of June we had to replace part of our rooftop bar staff and it took some time to fine tune operations. It is very kind of you to say that the view partially made up for the unfruitful waiting time. We look forward to your next visit. With my kindest regards, Filippo Burroni - General Manager

Dear Richard B, thank you for having stayed with us and for your kind review: we are happy to know that we positively contributed to your stay in Florence. I am sorry you did not fully enjoy our restaurant and apologize for any long wait you have suffered. As to our cuisine, I would like to say that our young chef Tommaso Calonaci (26) is very creative and proposes dishes out of the ordinary, matching different flavors in order to please and surprise our guests. We understand that this approach cannot meet everyone’s taste and we are glad to you and those who share their opinion with us in order to improve our restaurant offer. Sure enough there is plenty of alternatives also very close to the hotel, from the simplest trattoria to the most refined 3 Michelin stars restaurants. Our concierge will be there to guide you in your choice and arrange reservations for you. We hope to have you back with us soon and that you will give our chef a second chance: the menu is constantly changes with the season and you will find quite a different choice. With my kindest regards, Filippo Burroni – General Manager

Hi, My boyfriend and I are looking for a pool to use for the day in Florence. Do you have to be staying here to use the pool or could we pay to use it and buy lunch here too? Thanks Thanks
Dear Alice S., thank you for having contacted us. The swimming pool is only for hotel resident. The pool bar is open for non-resident, every day from 7.00pm. Best regards, Filippo

What is the garage parking like ?
You cannot park at the hotel/square, only for the period of packing. There is a parking service in hotel where you need to give them the key, so they take the car and park it in some nearby garage for I believe 30 EURs/night, which is quite high. It takes about 10-15 mins to get your car upon request. Also they take care of the license request not to receive any fines, as hotel is in a limited traffic zone. You may want to search for lower rate parking services nearby, I believe there are quite a few, however rates may be similar.

"Ask for a room facing the Square"
"The higher the room the better."
"Our rooms were very quiet & faced courtyard. The piazza is closed to vehicles so a city view room wouldn't be noisy at all."
"500 is a nice room facing sunset, otherwise ask for a room facing the square"
"amazing location"
