Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The location was good for walking anywhere in Catania. The room was an ok size and was clean. Breakfast has good options.  Our room was on the ground floor with window to the courtyard so dark and we could not open the window. Friends had rooms in the front with small standing balcony, which I would have preferred. There is no outside sitting area/lounge but a pleasant modern indoor bar.

The staff were terrific, especially Antonio, the Bar Manager. By the second night, he was an old friend. Not only does he know how to mix drinks, and the varieties of wine served there, but they also come with olives, cheeses, nuts! Loved it! I am way over 200 characters!

Lovely hotel and staff - Giacomo especially. He really went above and beyond for both my friend and me. Breakfast was very nice and the location is great. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and stay again.

Stayed here a night and the happy hour aperitivo was great! Antonio pulled out the stops. Loved the spritz and the snacks. Had some spritz in Italy where you can tell it was cheap Aperol alternatives whereas this was the real deal!!! Antonio is so kind and nothing was a bother. The room was in the back of the hotel and as we were staying there one night it wasn’t a problem. Great air con that actually works and keeps you cool! Comfy bed. Shower was a bit sketchy as it didn’t drain well but for one night I wasn’t fussed. Breakfast was nice too. Just like other reviews, be careful when walking to the hotel as it’s a dodgy walk from the train station to the hotel. If I was in Catania I would come back again!

Fantastic service from the bar. Antonio was incredible, making lovely drinks and providing a huge selection of snacks. He was so helpful in helping select wine, and had a very pleasant demeanour. Would very much return. Happy hour 7/9pm recommended

Very modern luxurious hotel in heart of historic city center! Offered an upgrade for free! Breakfast included was impressive! Better to take taxi than walk from central train station as you may find yourself in sketch area before getting to hotel but we did not encounter any incidents.

The hotel is well located near the main square, is easily accessible, and is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There is a lovely bar on the roof level and Antonio provided excellent service for drinks and snacks during happy hour.

I booked our stay at the Romano House four months before. I contacted them about parking beforehand and they provided me with an address which was nearby and easy to find. We made our way easily to the hotel and were greeted by very friendly reception staff. They provided us with a beauty, spacious and clean room with a Juliet balcony. The bathroom was modern and had ample facilities. The hotel has an interesting layout which I found very clean and modern. We went to happy hour the first night and went for dinner nearby. The location of the hotel is close to all the popular sites, shopping, and restaurants. The second night we went to happy hour on the rooftop. I have to give a shout out to their bartender. For the life of me, I cannot remember his name, but he made me a fantastic vodka martini and other great drinks. He was very friendly and attentive, even though it was a packed house that night. He really made our visit to the hotel bar an enjoyable one. Breakfast was also included. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a nice variety to choose from, including smoothies and granita. I would definitely recommend staying here again. It was a nice way to end our three week Italy vacation.

This was my third time staying at the Romano House. It is easy to reach from the Bus or Train Station. The facility is modern, the rooms large and comfortable. The BK is large. The staff is very helpful.
